Hi,

I noticed on my iPhone 5s that when I put moderate pressure on the top third of the screen, I hear a little 'click' noise each time.

It's not a big deal for me and the phone is perfect otherwise, I noticed a few threads complaining about this on the iPhone 5 on Apple's site,

Just wondering if this is common, if anyone else has this?

The only thing i'm concerned about is the longevity of the phone, I need it to last 2-3 years, do you guys think this is a big problem?

I can live with the little pop sound, once the screen isn't going to get loose or whatever!

Thanks!
John

Bring it to an apple store.

Had mine fixed couple of weeks back.

Screen click was gone.

I had the same problem for a while. I booked a Genius Bar appointment but then ended up cancelling it and not going. That was a over a month ago, and I don't seem to have the clicking issue anymore. I was worried for the same reasons as you though, whether the phone will last long enough - but mines fine now, it seems, but if it starts with the clicking sound again and it's coming up to the end of the warranty I'll definitely take it in.

I took mine in because the click happened near the "Q" on the on screen keyboard. The genius looked at it and exchanged it without too much trouble, and the replacement seems fine.

Just discovered that my new 4 day old 5s screen clicks in and out if pressed on the middle left hand side :(

Exactly like in this video.

I had 4 or 5 iphone 5 replacements for various reasons from its launch up until thanksgiving this year. So a little over 1 year. Each of them did this to a varying degree. Sometimes it came later on after weeks of usage. 1 did it right out of the box. Also the severity of clicking was also varied.

My fiances 5 does this as well.

And now my Gold 5S does it a little. There is no way in hell i'm swapping it out. Everything else is excellent. You can only notice it when you put pressure down in a certain spot.

I thought they would have fixed this, but it looks like its the nature of how the screen is attached to the body.

One thing is for certain. There is a huge chance that your 5 or 5S will do it, to some degree. Wether you notice it or not is a different story!

Yeah, my 5s is perfect otherwise. No loud clicking home button. Perfect screen. No nicks or scratches.

Contacted Apple support this morning and they are sending out a new phone. Since it's within 14 days it will be brand new in a retail package.

I am seeing the same clicking noises and it is coming from the rear camera which some as yet unknown reason is rattling possibly broken the iPhone 5S is 6 days old and barely used.

It has been sent back to apple for repair more likely replacement.

Fingers crossed I don't get another one with the same issue.

The iPhone 5S is 64GB space grey.

I will post when I get the phone back and let you know how I went with it.

On a side note apples forums have lots of the same issue showing up also so hoping apple will look into the issue and get it sorted out quickly

Mine has it but for me it's not worth it to go 45 miles to the nearest apple store. And I have it in a lifeproof so I don't touch the real screen.

Genius tried to reseat screen, couldn't, so I got a new phone. He said it defiantly was not normal, and was probably something in the screen itself, not the way it was attached to the frame.

Im a victim of the screen pop which is not a huge deal but a bit bothersome. first i don't have an iPhone Store in town (3 hrs away). Since I had the iPhone 5s for 3 months now do I have to go thru square trade or manufacture warranty?

Had the exact same issue on my space grey 5S. Took it to the Apple store couple of months ago. Swapped it no questions asked.

just had this issue recently. 5s bought in early October and my upper right hand corner started clicking and I could see some slight separation of the screen.

backed up my phone the night before my Genius Bar appointment. the guy verified that my screen was clicking and asked if I had a backup. he said they don't have screen replacement kits for the 5s yet (but do for 5c) and replaced it with a brand new one. before he put it into the return box, he used a tool to really separate the screen at the corner I had issue with.

FYI.

Very loose iphone 5c screen

My screen was VERY loose on the left side (bottom corner to middle of the left side). the clicking noise could be heard even in a loud room. I took it to apple but the day i did it seemed to be popped back into place lol.. of course.

However, i told the genius bar tech that it in fact did make a LOT of noise. he took it to the back of the store "to verify the noise".
He came back very shortyl after, saying he reconnected the screen to my phone and the problem should be gone now. However, as i was walking out of the store i heard the clicking in the same corner again. I went right back in and told him that now it was actually clicking. he told me to come back in 30 minutes and he would install a SHIM (?) into it to stabilize it. I came back a little over 30 minutes later and was told that the shim stopped the clicking noise but a squeaky noise was now the problem. They ended up replacing my whole device :)

I was actually very pleased with the service.

Shim is code word for piece of notebook paper or napkin. I shim tables all the time. ;)

Mine has been doing this sense I got it in October of 2013. I have a 5s and it's perfectly fine besides that. If you don't play around with it it should be fine... It's not going to blow up so you don't need to waste your money and get a new one.

I had the same problem with my space grey 5s took it to the apple store and they replaced it.
Did they you have any kind of insurance with your iphone? And for how long did you had the squeky one?
