Every time I see F2 in a serial number, I wanna puke: all the iPhone 5 F2 replacements that I had last and this year experienced interlacing. I hope it's not the case with the 5S anymore.
My 5S is C3 and has a really nice screen, which is brighter and more vivid than my DN iPhone 5.

In terms of DN vs. F2, it's a panel lottery for both factories.

I've seen good DN, bad DN, good F2, bad F2.

Also, good C39 (the 5s I had before returning -- keeping my 5) and bad C39 (the 4s I had had a washed out screen).

Good luck.

I have a DN serial. The screen looks flawless.

Now with that said. Can we stop saying things like "interlace?" An LCD doesn't interlace. It's progressive.

I think if people are seeing some kind of refresh issue, they need to check their environmental lighting. First turn off your lights, does the refresh issue go away? Go out into the sun, same question.

I think with CFLs and the poor quality they have out there, it's messing with people's perception of what they are looking at.

If the screen looks like it's interlaced, people will call it interlaced. Doesn't matter if it really is interlaced. Scanlines, interlacing, whatever, it's an issue no matter what you call it.

It's just you.

My F2 = perfection.

But it's a fun rumor to spread to prompt all the obsessives into a mad rush to Apple stores. :D

Didn't take too long to find those on front page. Didn't even have to do a search. Haven't run into any problems like this with S3's and Note2's personally. What are the chances that my first 3 iPhone 5S's come with defective display panels? Ridiculously high. Disappointing.

My iPhone starts with C39, and has an F2 inside the serial number. Apparently I've hit the jackpot!

Sounds like you have solved your problem Keep the Android.

Am I the only one posting with an F1 serial number? I traded my space gray (it was DN) but now my silver 5S has F1 (was made just in Oct).

This screen is BETTER than my space gray and my space gray seemed perfect.

No issues, and it's a perfect temperature. Not too cool and not too warm. My previous 5S was a little warm.

Oh I love my F2 as well since I get better wifi signal and faster touch id recognition compare to my old DN. You're lucky that you never saw such a screen panel on your iPhone really. I envy you.

My F2 Sept build has the yellow screen as well. It was a refurbished model NE302LL/A.

DN here.

It cured my eczema.

So no complaints.

All the guys with DN serial number how is your battery life? I really believe that the DN mine starts with DNP have bad battery life well at least mine does.

Sorry to move to a different topic and couldn't find a DN thread.

Is it just me or are the screens on 5S's that start with DN's have better color saturation, better shadow details and less chance of having interlacing issues? My Sept. Build DN's screen had great eye-popping colors, sharpness, but it was defective in that there were yellow spots. My first F2's screen (Sept. Build) was just yellow all around; the colors were way off and didn't look right at all. My 2nd F2's screen (Oct. Build) has the perfect white, but has interlacing issues and the colors don't look as good as the DN that I had. Also, the colors on F2 screens look bleak and they have horrible shadow details compare to DN.

Can anyone else confirm 5S's with serial number that starts with DN have better screen quality?

Mine is a DN and no issues at all.

My F2 Genius bar replacement has horrible screen interlacing. I wish I didn't replace my original phone.

What did u replace it for?
Replace again.

TouchID failure and weird crashes and blue screens (Tried clean DFU restore, did nothing)

I'm not sure the Genius will recognize it as a problem, and still won't be assured that the new phone won't have the same screen issues.

Still worth a try, take the new image from the other thread, airdrop it to a display unit and demonstrate the diff.

A couple more data points:

The F2 I got last Sunday showed the flickering with the display image.

The C3 I got on Tuesday did not.
