Extended warranties are always in the house's favor. Otherwise why would they bother?

Do this instead. Every time someone offers you an extended, put that money in an account for yourself. Someday something bad will happen that an extended warranty would have covered. Go get a small portion of that cash from that account and cover it. And buy yourself something else as a bonus for not being an idiot.

Heh i like that idea

You're hilarious. But that's OK. You won't be around for long. You've picked enough fights that you'll get banned before too long.

Lol, says the one picking fights - I'm just here to have some fun

Thanks for being such a great source of lols! :D

11:53am Friday. New York time.

Wow I can't believe your phone is shipping so soon. I ordered at 3:30 am Friday New York time as well and my shipping date is 10/21 - 10/30. Guess you're lucky!

32GB Space Gray, AT&T, ordered from apple.com, order confirmation came at 12:12 am PST.

Just got ship notification, origin scan in ZhengZhou, China about 20 mins ago. No projected delivery date yet.

Edit: This is standard shipping, not expedited.

My gold 16gb went from estimated 28th October to "shipped" and delivered on Tuesday.

A Sunday update too!

Did you order at Apple.com?

I've been monitoring my bank account to see if they've charged me. Kinda annoyed that every time I order early, I get screwed.

Last year, AT&T "lost" my order, and this time, Apple is shipping other phones before mine. Mine supposedly is supposed to be delivered by Oct 8th (gold 16GB).

I too ordered my iphone 5s mine is supposed to deliver oct 8 (Silver/16gb) but no status update yet.. feeling worried..

I just got my shipping notice as well. Ordered a 64GB silver within the first 10 minutes of it going live online. It now says it will be arriving Thursday Sept. 26, ahead of the Sept. 30- Oct. 2 timeframe I was quoted originally.

Maybe they thought it would be better to overestimate how long it would and then surprise people by reducing times when needed, than the other way around (quoting a quick turnaround and then an unpleasant surprise of it being delayed if demand was even higher)? Either way, I'm glad to see a number of people will be getting it ahead of schedule and hope the trend continues.

Like every other manufacturer in the consumer electronics industry?

Well... similar to some other tech giants.
A lot more detail oriented & nuanced in the sophistication level of the assembly of their premium products, for sure.... but I suppose at the core, share many similarities with the assembly of other electronic devices. Just at a MUCH larger scale.
Oh, or were you trying (poorly, I might add) to intimate that all other consumer electronic companies can & do produce and sell upwards of six million of a new device in a weekend with no supply constraints??
To put it into perspective for you... When Note 3 was announced, the CEO of Samsung came out on stage and bragged that they had been producing & selling with the previous gen note...... (wait for it......!)..... 4.75 million units per quarter.

Just checked my order status on Apple, and shows scheduled delivery by end of day, September 25.

You never know yours might shorten the ship date.

Clearly they don't ship individually. ie if they have a large amount of orders in one location they'll ship an entire pellet to that warehouse and move it our from there.

If you're NYC like me I'm sure the ship date will come in by a few days.

Where is Apple, in terms of 5s orders?

I just ordered my 5s yesterday (Gold 64 GB) around 11 AM EDT, and have the shipping date of October. I would love some feedback from those who ordered their phones later in the day on Friday, or more recently. Most people posting here seem to be those who ordered within the first few hours of launch. At least maybe we can get a feel for where Apple is in terms of fulfillment of 5s orders, at the moment.

Thanks in advance, for responding!

Orders or line???

My local Apple Store in the Oaks Mall Thousand Oaks Ca. Would not let people start lining up until launch day 9/20 4:00am, even after several Apple employees said it was ok and even where to start the line. This was ******** & ****ed my plans to be the first in line.

So after security & mall info confirmed they would not let anyone on the property until 4:00am, I decided I would order on line and wait the a few days. I waited until about 12:00am like I always do to preorder and I got 2 iPhones ordered & confirmed by 12:05. All was good so off to bed, knowing I would still go and try to get a good place in line. Woke up about 3:45am went to my Apple Store thinking it would be chaos at that time as that's when you could get the line started. I figured if I get a good spot in line I would stay to get phones? I ended up 35th in line, so I stayed but waited to cancel on line orders until they (Apple Store) gave the tickets out for the model phone(s) you wanted. This guaranteed that they had what I wanted at my place in line. So I got lucky to get my iPhone 5s on launch day once again!

Dorky and crazy as it is, it's always been fun when I have waited in line, but still prefer they preorder so you can have it delivered on launch day.:apple:

I've got my iPhone every yr since the first iPhone on launch day just for the challenge and excitement, childish yes, but it's turned into something that's expected of me from friends & family, all in fun of course. I do the same with the iPads, launch day is truly fun for Apple fans.:apple::cool:

It's very much dependent on where you live.

There doesn't appear to be a FIFO approach.

Once an order is placed it appears to go into a queue which is dealt by availability and then location.

Hope that helps.

All phones originate in China.

iphone 5s 16gb GOLD shipped

Just check my att.com order.
Shipped on sep-23. arriving on sep-24 before 3pm

iphone 5s 16gb GOLD.
ordered from att.com around 12:03
haha

Both my casual ~8am store.apple.com orders are still 'processing', I'm guessing Apple isn't going to overdeliver on their '7-10' day promise.

Looking at all of your comments about getting shipping confirmation from att.com, I've just cancelled the order from apple.com and made a new order from att.com premier store instead. Hope they will ship it soon.

I ordered a 5S silver (16GB) for me and a 5S gold (16GB) for my wife late morning on release day from the ATT online store.

Original processing email stated 7-10 days for my phone to ship and my wife's phone was estimated to ship October 21-30th.

Well, I received my shipping notification on Saturday afternoon late (arriving Monday) and my wife's status was still an estimated October 21-30th for the 5S Gold (which aligns with the rumors that the Gold was selling out like hot cakes everywhere).

Surprise, surprise, surprise! Got two packages this morning, one of them was the 5S silver (mine) and the other was my wife's gold 5S.. She never received a shipping notification.

ATT for the win!

So you speak on behalf of everybody now?

Okay then let's wait for sales figure comparison between 5C and 5S so this thing not just coming out off my mouth.
Just remember 4S was actually the most popular phone even after the 5 released.

How many 5S sold for each 5C sold? Yeah let's see what everybody says about that ;)

I ordered a Gold model ,for my kid on AT&T. A few days ago,and received a confirmation from AT&T that read. "Expected shipment date for devices only" 10/30/2013-11/20/2013.

So AT&T wouldn't be shipping online orders out. Until the 30th of October.

Luckily for me , I purchased one for myself on EBay A few hours after release.. And I absolutely have no idea, how to work with this layout of this new software.

The old iOS seemed easier for me.

Waiting for UPS

Just got my UPS notification that it is on the truck and I can expect delivery today -- yay!

 :D :apple: :D

That was fast !

I ordered my iPhone 5S 32 GB Spacegray unlocked 22 September 20:00 German time on Apple site. I don't have delivery date yet - just "October" and the status processing. Is it normal that I don't have a date now? Anyone else have this too?
