Love my 5S, but would prefer a larger screen. The design is fantastic and I prefer it over the 6's. It is running fast on iOS 9. You should be fine if deciding to get it.
I do not need a bigger screen than 5s. I mean, seriously, 6/6s does not fit my pocket. Plus I really like using a phone with 1 hand, and I can't do it with a 6/6s.
I do not care about 3d touch,etc.
I need a good device I can take photos with, I can surf the web and use some apps. Nothing more. (Sadly, my 4s is not suitable for this job by now.)

+1. It is really one of the best one-handed devices. I prefer its form factor to 6/6S.
Same. It's easier to hold the 5/s than the 6 at first, but after you use the 6 for a while, holding it is easy. In my opinion, it's more comfortable than the 5/s. I can't speak for the 6s, however, and I heard its heavier.

The 6 is easy to use with one had (even with a case), but it takes some time getting used to. Instead of holding the phone from the bottom, it's easier to "cradle" it by holding the two sides. It's fairly awkward at first, and takes some getting used to, but it's just as easy to use as the 5s.

The iPhone 6 has a better camera than the 5s, though both are stunning

Okay ... I was giving my opinion. Also, if you have your mind made up, why bother asking for people's opinions?

My son and daughter both have the iPhone 5S. They both wanted it because of the 4" screen and smaller form factor. My son's 5S battery is very good. My daughter doesn't get as much out of a charge, but she also streams music a lot which I think is a battery killer. I'm going to buy her a battery case for it and see if that helps.

I have a 5S I got two years ago when they came out. My 2-year Verizon contract just ended. I'm keeping the phone and I'm going to pay less per month on the new month-to-month deal they have.

Mine is a 64GB space gray model and it's in great shape still and doesn't really lag. Battery life is fine. Of course, I have most of the battery draining functions disabled, but I can normally easily get through a day on a charge with moderate to heavy usage and still have 25%+ left to work with.

I'd like a new one but I don't need a new one. I can't see how it would make my life better in any way.

Yes, the 5S is a very worthy device. Just beware that 32 GB is the largest available now and that's not a huge amount if you have lot of pictures and/or music.

Hello guys,

I am thinking about replacing my old iphone 4s. It is getting real slow, and the battery doesn't live longer than half a day at almost minimum brightness.

I don't want to pay that much now for a new phone (like 6 / 6s ), and honestly i don't like the design of 6/6s, i love the older design.

My question is that, how long do you think an 5s will be running smooth? 2years or less, more maybe?

Thanks
I term of performance, the iPhone 5S isn't far from an iPhone 6, so it is more than acceptable.
I bought one for my wife less than a month ago, full price in Apple Store, and she's more than happy (she doesn't like my iPhone 6).
I still think the iPhone 5S is the best iPhone Apple ever made.

Smooth? People complain the 6/6+ lag. Some even say the 6S/6S+ lag. That's today.
People HERE would complain the lag of iOS run on a i7 MacBook Pro .... That's not today. That's MacRumors Forums ....

I wouldn't get the 5s, just because of the battery life. It runs smooth and (despite the smaller screen) has fairly good graphics. The battery life is absolutely horrible. I had three 5s's and none could last me through the day.
Im running iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S side by side on same conditions for all the day.
At the end of the day I was at 34% with my iPhone 6 and 27% with my wife's iPhone 5S.

No I won't run any games on it.
I need safari, mail, facebook, messenger, spotify, and some other basic apps to run smooth.
More or less my wife's usage. She's very happy about it.

Sorry If I was a bit harsh! I did not set my mind up already. I mean, if the difference between 5s and 6 would be huge, I would probably go for the 6. But, seriously, the 6/6s just does not fit my pocket, and that's a huge problem for me, because I usually keep my phone there.
(I was hoping for a 6C or something at the last Keynote, but no luck...)

Thank you. That's the information I was kinda looking for.
