Yeah, I know. I broke out my 4 the other day, and this lady screamed "awww, what an itty bitty phone! how cute"! I had to explain to her that it's not the size of the phone that counts, but the user experience.
Nicely done.

I don't get what the iPhone is missing hardware wise that it is "lacking" innovation?
Hardware wise the iPhone is just fine IMO. It is right up there. It is software wise where it is starting to show it is lacking.
Thanks for the xda link.
However, I have to disagree on Android 4.2.2. On my Galaxy Nexus, 4.2.2 has made what I think is noticeable difference in terms of smoothness: transitions between screens are iOS smooth now4.1 was not the same.
So Apple is still going to push the iPhone out with a sub-HD resolution when the top spec Androids are having 1080p screens? It was bad enough when the 720p Androids were topping the iPhone but now it's getting laughable. I left the iPhone back in 2011 and I don't see myself coming back anytime soon unless Apple really steps their game up. I'm going either S4 or HTC ONE this year.
Really?? Thanks for the info.
HEY GUYS. If you ever need info on what each iPhone generation looked like and what they were called, ask komodrome. He has about 5 posts trying to enlighten us on the topic.

LOL, some people are never happy with anything!
Why? Virtually all relatively new smart phones can last a full day and a bit.
Most people charge at night.
On the whole, there are more important things, like true multitasking, a larger screen choice, etc..
No they don't. It only lasts a whole day if you don't do anything other than make calls. As soon as you start browsing and playing games it's battery goes down fast. I have an iphone 4s and my friends have iphones 5 (they switched from blackberry) and they were shocked by the low battery life.
Playing games?
I said NORMAL use. Push email, a bit of browsing, a few photos, a few texts, maybe some social media. Then most smart phones, like my Galaxy Nexus last a day. The iPhone 5 lasts actually a little longer.
But sure, if you play games all day, then you should plug in. You have no life anyway, so there should be a plug somewhere in the basement.![]()

NFC? Meh. I guess it'd be nice to have it and I hear it is used over seas a lot, but here in America I have NEVER seen it used once. I live in one of the largest cities in America, a huge metroplex and I travel around the metroplex all the time. I only know of one place that has NFC. Never seen it used. Matter of fact I ask the average user (the people the iPhone is geared toward) all the time "do you know what NFC is?" To this day I've only found one person who has known what it is. Though like I said I have heard that it is popular over seas so I guess it "needs" to be added.
Bigger Screen? Very opinionated. I love the 4" screen. Nothing wrong with it in my mind. Though I have used a Galaxy S3 and I can do most basic tasks with one hand still. It does still fit in my pocket also. Actually I think the size of the screen makes it fit better in my pocket. The iPhone seems to move around a lot in my pocket and sometimes gets caught in a weird angle. The S3 never did move at all in my pocket but was still "small" and light enough that I didn't know it was there. Though again screen size is very opinionated. I know some people who want the 3.5" screen back. You know who those people are? The people Apple targets! The average user!
LED Notifications? Meh, I guess I would take them. Though I know a lot of people from older phones and such that always turned them off. They hated them.
I can't think of anything else really. The camera is great and is said to be one of the best cameras on a smart phone. Though I am sure this will be improved on like always.
Processor? It's already blazing blast for a phone! Their is only so much you can do before the updates don't even look like updates anymore! Apps load very fast, most apps still don't take advantage of the processor in the 5 yet. We're not going to see the speed updates like we did in the early days of the iPhone anymore. So if you expect that you won't see it.
I guess they could add more RAM but 1GB is just fine for iOS.

well hopefully it's got at least one amazing breakthrough - and i can't imagine a fingerprint scanner is that. a much better camera is gonna be hard to do, since the current camera is very good. i'm sure the processor will be 'twice as fast', but it always is. hopefully it'll be quad-core this time.
and of course iOS 7. i'm sure they'll be some features for the iPhone 5S only. i guess those will be what Apple really pushes for you to upgrade.

What good would a quad core be, other than for significantly draining battery life?
I think the "breakthrough" will be on the software side. Ios7 will hopefully be amazing and completely redesigned from the ground up. IPhones don't need quad cores, but I get the feeling apple will put one in there too keep up with the joneses.
