I am sceptical of Apple's battery figures these days, sadly.

They used to be conservative; the first two years of the iPad had battery life figures of 10 hours for browsing the internet on wifi, yet they easily outmatched that by one or two hours. In contrast, my iPad Air 2 has the same 10 hour quoted battery life, but I find in reality that it is more like 8 to 9 hours.

It's the same with the laptops: the first two generations of the MacBook Air had great battery life, but in recent years, they have stagnated or got worse. Battery technology is the ugly duckling of modern devices. It's the one significant area where we have had no real improvement for decades.

Giys is it just me or does the se have same/better battery then the 6/6s? Check on the comparasion page.

Whoops just saw the post above! This is quite nice. Very interesting.

I dont think its out of the question if they use a slightly underclocked A9. Whether that is good or bad is probably debatable

Agreed on the underclocking.

Apple says SE is 2x faster than 5S.

However 6S is 2x faster than 6 alone - and 6 is 2x on 5S - so something's missing here; still - lower screen resolution.

If battery life is similar to the 6plus then this could be the best iPhone ever.
On the apple quoted numbers its better than the 6+ and 6S+. We shall see with usage when people use

The phone is going to be in the form factor of the 5s, I can't see how it will have "amazing" battery life. Perhaps if they use a slower processor but that would be asinine if they did that. I think the battery will be similar to the 5s, maybe less if they include the force touch motor.
On the quoted pages it shows better battery life than 6+ and 6S+ obviously no idea about usage

The quoted times on apple pages are not suppose to match 1-1 on the usage in the battery settings page. Its if you use wifi or lte and it should match the total time you used it

I might just buy this phone for the battery life alone! It beats the 6 in every category!

You and me both brotha!

Finally Apple makes a significant improvement in battery life (imo the most important aspect of a smartphone). Can't believe this little guy even beats out the 6+/6s+

Nice, welcome to the club! You'll enjoy the iPhone, it's great!
Looking forward to it, do you recommend the 16 or 64 gig model? I'm not too big on apps and music. Will only be running about 10-12 apps and maybe couple gigs of music. I do like taking photos though.

I'd go with the 64. Photos will start to eat up a lot of space after awhile. I started with a 16 GB iPad Mini 2 a couple years ago and thought it would be plenty since I didn't use a ton of apps. About 6 months in I got the low storage warning because I started to download more apps, buy some TV shows, and take/save pictures. I instantly wished I went with the 32 or 64, and from then on, I have always upgraded the storage one level on all Apple products I buy :D

I'm one a 5 now and I can't wait to cop a SE or a deal from someone dumping off a 6S haha.

I think most of the power savings is due to the better power management of the A9, as long as it lasts longer then the 6s, I'll be happy. :)

At least for ONE SINGLE TIME since years apple did everything RIGHT !!!
I just can't believe it's true..... :)

I will purchase the 64GB SE - because this SE has everything that I posted to want at the very beginning of this thread .... And it is really everything.... Still can't believe it...

As for my postings about "I am shure there is a stable 4" market" :
Phil Schiller told us that even in 2015 they sold 30 Million new iPhone 5s - which is 250% of what they sold in the year the 5s entered the market!

And even the battery capacity is a little bit more (10-20% if Schillers words are not pure Marketing but real existing facts) than with all the other devices.

Which is surely NOT because of IOS 9 (if this would be the case the SE would not have longer battery life than the other iPhones under IOS 9) but
1) due to the smaller dye of the A9 and M9 processors
2) due to the much smaller LED screen as the LED screen is consuming the most energy (this might get less important with OLED screens in some years)

Again:
WELL DONE !

(Still can't believe this after all the ridiculous Decisions since 2012 .....)

That's what I'm hoping for a smaller display running less pixels, no force touch, etc.
i think force touch really affects the S battery in a major way. the new haptic engine uses the battery and it is less room for more battery.

I realize the second point could be moot since they would just make it thinner and have less battery if no haptic
