Do you still have the protective skin over the phone? Mine is doing the same thing but if I flip it over they can hear me better. I'm wondering if there is another mic on the back thats being used for speakerphone?

I have the same problem. When using speaker phone people tell me the phone sounds terrible, or they can't hear me at all.

It was the plastic film in my case. Apparently the mic on the back is used for speakerphone instead of the one at the bottom. I cut out the area around the camera and now it's working.

I have a red dead pixel about a half inch from the top, center. Headed to Best Buy to see what they say, then Apple if they don't have a solution.

Wow me too. The red pixel is like perfectly center and about an inch and a half from the top. Also some pretty bad light bleed at the top left. Has the slanted text on the back of the phone as well.

This is my replacement phone I just got from apple. The first one I had had dust or something affecting a pixel which made it real bright in a spot.

Think I may wait a month or so for perhaps a better quality unit.

iPhone 6+ Speaker issue

I bought my iPhone 6+ (128gb silver) on launch, and it worked perfectly until today. Today in the middle of a call my ear speaker stopped working. Since then I cannot hear anything through that speaker, but I can hear calls through speakerphone. I did a hard reset, I've factory restored. I've toggled airplane mode, I've reset all settings. I've turned blue tooth on and off. I've reset wifi settings. I've turned the phone off and back on. I contacted apple support and they troubleshoot(ed?) me, and said they think it is a hardware issue and to make an appt at the genius bar. My husband called and apple told him that the genius bar won't help me since it is in the first 14 days and I should take it back to Verizon. Verizon says they have no phones but can offer me a refund. I traded in my old phone so I don't have a phone to use in the interim. I just want a working phone and I'm getting upset at this runaround. I have an appt tomorrow with the genius bar, but anyone who can maybe find me a fix it would be greatly appreciated. :(

Small clicking sound when pressing the front and back of screen together in the middle of the phone. I wouldn't describe it as #3 on the list as a loud popping but the fact that I know it's there makes me think the phone is cheap in some way :/. Anyone else? I replaced it 2 times and the same thing, I don't want to replace again. It only clicks when I press on it with 2 hands like I said. So solution is to not do it. Wonder if the phone will have issues later on

My 6 does this. Almost every 6 I've looked at does it too to some degree.

Hopefully my issues are iOS 8 related but here goes: iPhone 6, iOS 8.0.2

1) Battery life is horrible. WiFi on, Bluetooth off, Location Services off, Refresh Apps in Background off, no Apps running. While in standby, the iPhone 6 lasts 6 hours max.

2) LTE keeps dropping to 4G. Mostly when changing cell towers or going from LTE to WiFi and then back tho cell (which then goes to 4G instead of LTE). When it does go to 4G, the iPhone heats up as it is looking for LTE and battery life will goes from 100% to 25% in 2 hours. A reset, or power cycle brings LTE back.

3) Car bluetooth connections works if I restore the iPhone 6 from a backup from my iPhone 5s. But if I set up my iPhone 6 as a new device, the car bluetooth no longer works (it pairs, but audio can no longer be heard). If I again restore from the 5s backup, the car bluetooth works again. I can cycle this back and forth all day long. Setting up as a new iPhone does not help problems 1 or 2.

I have called Apple support twice. The can pull up the iPhone's diagnostics and they say it shows the battery and hardware are good, but software and operating system show errors. I'm hoping iOS 8.1 fixed it.

The screen of my 6 plus seems to be aligned a fraction of a millimeter to far to the left. There's a very small gap visible between the glass and right edge of the device, and my thumb catches on that edge a bit. Pretty minor issue, but it does piss me off when the device costs nearly $1k. I have my doubts about Apple being willing to swap it out for such an issue too

I wouldn't hesitate to contact them if it was me but it depends on how OCD you are about it. If something is not right get it sorted before its to late.

Well I did find a dead pixel, which made the swap out easier. But this one has some dust under the screen. I'm going to wait until the production line is working a bit slower before doing another exchange.

When the retail price is 2-5x the manufacturing costs, you'd think they would use somewhat better QC

I totally agree glad you got it sorted probably better waiting for a better batch.

Noticed this yesterday.

One I received online pre order has minor scratch on the back, very minor, but I cannot stand with that, I exchanged in store, so far I haven't spotted any issue yet on second one

I would suggest you have a rogue app or something corrupted from a back up.

On my iPhone 6 I have wifi on, Bluetooth on, Location Services on, refresh apps in background on, apps can be running, I don't always worry about what's running.

I easily get a day and a half to 2 days between charges.

As an example, today I have 3 hrs 50 minutes of use and 23 hours 15 minutes of standby and my battery is still on 69%.

Battery life has been one of the huge improvements from my 5s.

Here's a screenshot:

so far for me, it's easier to get hairline scratches on the screen compared to my previous phones, will try to exchange. lol

never bought screen protectors since ip4, i guess i have to buy one now.

Share how that goes. I too have a hairline scratch. I am very protective and haven't used screen savers, but do have smartcover on my iPad Air.

I have a 6+. Does anyone have problem with unresponsive touch screen? For instance, Google search with Safari. I get no action when I click on link. But if I zoom in, then it works.

Also, it seems to crash when I change position - portrait to landscape or back, even on Apple apps like Messages.

Mine has a slight gap down the left bezel.

At least I thought.... the light changed in the room, and it appeared more to be on the right.

Depending on where the light is coming from in the room it can fool the eye.

It's just on the very edge where glass meets metal.

Looking directly down it still feels more on the left, but it's just the small bit of plastic that runs inside around the bezel that could be off. Unit is actually sealed and glass covered.

Bare that in mind when running off to swap them. Just think it's a little quirk.

You don't need to wait. There are always dust under the screen if your phone is from Apple. The production line doesn't improve because they are laminating and assembling the screen without using a dust-free sealed room. Their process won't change just because they are less busy.

In fact from my personal experience, over 80% of the iPhone have dust speck inside, albeit very tiny ones usually. So you might need to go through 5 phones just to get one without dust.

Then pray that one doesn't have other issues such as gaps, scratches, hot pixel in slow-mo, loose home button, loose screen, uneven uniformity, dirt under glass (the white part) and so forth.

My phone must be in the 20%, since I don't have any dust under my screen on my new one, and everything else is perfect too.

I have an issue now that my keyboard disappears when I go to type and can't get it to come back on until I close the app and sometimes have to reboot.

It was the swipe app sorry I use the apple keyboard and all ok.

Is anyone (Verizon or otherwise) having their bars (dots) go from full to two or three and back again? My wife's 5S has full service throughout the house and my phone has two or three dots and every so often will have full service... What the fu*k?
