My 6 screen dims by itself for a while sometimes; auto-brightness is off and brightness set to maximum. Other owners have reported this happening.

My 6 is getting worse with this and only does it when my use my device a lot and starts to get warm. My screen gets dim for about 3 minutes then goes back to full brightness. This happens only when the phone is "stressed" and auto brightness is off in the system settings. My dads 6 does not do this.

Have an appointment with the Genius Bar tomorrow. Anyone else experiencing the brightness change issue?

I have the issue of when I'm talking on a call and I put it on loudspeaker, the person on the other end can't hear me... There is nothing coving the bottom of the phone so all ports are free...
Anyone else have this problem and or know how to fix it??

I noticed this "problem", it seems that when it is on speaker mode...the phone uses the mic near the camera instead. So if the protective film is till on, your voice would not reach the other caller.

To test it while having the film on, gently tap on the mic near the camera while on speaker, the other caller should hear the tap. Else just remove the plastic film and speak normally.

With the speakerphone turned on, other person on the line can't hear me at all. Anyone else having this issue?

remove the plastic film if it is still there, the phone uses the mic near the camera when on speaker. Hope this helps

Flawless here. I see some software glitches with iOS but thats probably going to be fixed with updates. For example, clicking back on a mailbox from within a message doesn't always reliably go back to the list of messages. Can't wait for 8.0.1.

Flawless hardware here.

Looking forward to the iOS 8 jailbreak! :D

So I took my phone into the AT&T store. Right off the bat they told me that there was nothing they could do because they are not Apple. They said the only place here in town that could help me is the MacAuthority. So I called them and they spoke to me like I was crazy. "We don't have any iPhones to give you, you'd have to go to the Apple Store in Atlanta or something, that's just crazy."

So, I call 1-800-MYAPPLE and speak to someone. He tells me that since I have AppleCare on my phone, no problem, he'll get me a new phone right out. So I ask what if I didn't have AppleCare? Well then you'd have to pay the service fee. What?! I'd have to pay a fee for my DOA, brand new out of the box iPhone?! Ok, so whatever, let's get this ball rolling. He puts me on hold while he enters some information. Comes back and says he needs a credit card number to put the funds on hold until I send the defective phone back. He tells me I'll see a $299 charge. There's no such thing as a "hold" on credit card funds - you either bill it, or you don't. So I put him on hold for a second while I make sure I called the correct number, because this is just getting crazy. I ask him if there other options. He says he can send me a link to pay online and complete the claim. He sends it while I'm still on the phone. It's billing me for $849.88. WTF?! I'm not putting that on my card at this point. I ask why it's more that he said. Uhh, because I clicked past something or other and saw the wrong number, blah blah blah. So I ask can he just send a phone to an authorized retailer so I can go switch it out. No.

This is BS, I might just go get a Samsung and send this worthless phone back.

Either way I don't have access to that money while its on hold. It might as well be a billed and refunded.

----------

They don't have the phones in stock at any of the authorized sellers and the nearest Apple Store is 100+ miles away. Did you not READ? The attitude was that all the onus is on me - as if it's not their fault the phone doesn't work.

I don't know what rock you live under....

money on hold has been around for ..... ever.... I have done this many times with many companies. it is just awesome , give credit card # , they place a hold on funds, I receive new unit, I send old one back, They release funds. simple and easy..

Now if you don't have good credit or something for enough well that is not the companies fault !!!

I don't know of any company out there today that will just mail you a new device hopping you are a fair person and send in the old one, do you know how many people would do that if that happened!!!!! Wake up!!!

This is the chance you get for getting one of the first ones, you should have waited a month for stock to build up, especially if money is that tight!!!

Oh last thing..... it is your purchasing store that should replace a defective device 1st, buy from best buy they exchanged a phone for me with no problems in the past. If it is ATT then call customer service and be nice and explain everything.

Oh go get that sam junk I had 2 and I don't care how fast that processor is in them, the junk they load on it slows the phones down, and s voice just sucks!! get an HTC if you do that.

A bit of a stretch there. I always restore from backup and never have issues. I restored my last three new gen iPhones from JB backups of the previous model and even then no issues at all.

No stretch. It's a very common issue.

6+ flawless.

6 has a brownish yellow dullness at the top of the screen.

Just so you know, money on hold is exactly the same as money not in your account. The only difference is that the bank and the retailer have not swapped the funds. From the consumer POV it is exactly the same. I get that they have to prevent scammers from scamming, but their approach means that if anything goes wrong, the phone gets damaged in the mail or lost, I'm the one who's out and they are not obligated to pursue anything.

And I never said money was tight, and I did buy the phone straight from Apple. And it's really not saying much about a company that can fault it users for "buying the first batch." Again, where is the attitude that my broken phone is my fault coming from? This is what ticked me off in the first place, the attitude of the Apple rep was that reasonable expectation does not encompass getting a product that works, no apologies, just asking for a CC# all the time doubtful that the problem I was describing wasn't just in my head.

Honestly, if I had had a better rep who knew the process and wasn't making me guess and ask questions, things might have gone over more smoothly. My guess is that they just tripled their call staff and I got a dud.

If the phone got lost in shipping, that is why apple puts insurance on the package both ways, you can verify that with them.

Is this your first time to do this with any company? I have done it for years with many, and I always usually monitor the package with tracking numbers if I am worried about it.

I don't understand what you want apple to do at all?? They are offering a replacement, so what do you want??

What do you want apple to do??

IPhone 6 Battery Loss over 1% every 2 minutes

Anyone finding the phone heats up a lot, especially near the rear camera? Not sure if its an issue but I am thinking Apple could of added "hand warmer" to the spec list at the moment.

Edit: should add this is iPhone 6
I both have heat and battery issues. Yesterday it's first full day I pulled it off it's charger at 9:30 am by 3:00 pm it was at 16%. I recharged to 97% by 5:30pm and left for an event and watched it drain over 30% in just 1 1/2 hours. It continued to drain until I but it back on my weak car charging system (BMW 2014) barely keeping up with the drain.

I am in a weak area for cell service as well.

----------

I noticed that my 6 warmed up quite a bit today when I was playing music through it today in the car.

I also had a similar problem it got so warm I would call it hot. Apparently when using encrypted backup you lose all the downloaded music and there is no way to get the music back down to the phone without creating a playlist and redownloading it. I am in a weak cell and on satellite for internet. This is just plain frustrating.

My wifes iPhone 6, she had with her at work for 12 hours, came home, and I played with it for at least 2 hours straight and it still had 25% battery (~14 hours).

Now her s3 would be dead on the standard battery in 12 hours, so I had to get a double capacity battery and that would be about 1/3 left by the end of the night.

So for the ones with issues, either something is running in the background, a restore is needed, or a new iPhone, you can allways call apple as I would, to get any maybe pointers they might have.

Weak cell signal kills all my phones, depending on how weak?
How long did your last phone battery last? make and model.

I can see the screen light through the silence button when vibration is engaged. Anyone see this too? Now I'm getting a bit concerned about the possibility of having water or dust getting in.

Anyone else noticing a horizontal looking ghost smear? I noticed it when looking at a photo that another user posted to locate dead pixels. When I press on the center of the screen it's sort of a big bubble and moves with pressure. Not sure if it's bad enough to warrant a replacement. :(

I see it

Has anyone else had issues of flickering screen on 4.7" ip6? I think this is a hardware problem. Scrolling causes pixelated aberrations on the screen. Any animation causes the animated part to flicker. Scrolling in something like settings, the left icons are visible flickering underneath the header bar. Web pages have all kinds of problems. I guess this qualifies as DOA as I've run a DFU restore on it and still the same thing.

I just started having the same problem today.
