Microsoft and HP had tablets way before iPad.

Pebble and Android Wear (and even calculator watches) came before Apple Watch.

NFC has been a thing in the tech sector long before Apple's very-limited implementation of it in iPhone 6. Additionally, a large number of chains have had tap-to-pay stations for years that take advantage of NFC.

I'm sorry are you now saying being first does matter? Microsoft and hp had tablets but the world for sure did not notice them.

Pebble and android wear were also the first but you said that's not the criteria. You said the world has to notice. You can look up the sales numbers for those yourself to see how much the world noticed those

As for nfc, it has already been shown that yes nfc terminals are everywhere but no one is using them. So no, the world has not noticed nfc yet. Of course, we dont know if they'll notice it because of apple pay, but I can almost guarantee it'll happen.

Can't have it both ways, man.

There's so much anecdotal nonsense in your response, I don't know where to begin.

"The world didn't notice!"

Because you said so? Apple sure noticed. ;)

Microsoft and HP had tablets way before iPad.

Apple's first consumer oriented tablet was the Newton that went on sale in 1993, which I think was the first real tablet from a company that is still in business. I think that predates Microsoft and HP tablets. Not that any of this has anything to do with iPhones.

Lol...you do realize the world not noticing was YOUR criteria for the bigger screens...right? Did you forget what you said in the span of two posts?

Sorry, I'm just more in favor of actual facts rather than listening to someone say "The world didn't notice because I say so!"

You used the world not noticing as a criteria, not me. Did you just have a stroke? You literally just said that, in this thread, to me, not more than 5 posts ago!

Regardless of the amusing logic loops you're desperately trying to involve me in, my point still stands. While Apple is innovative, they did not innovate everything they now choose to include in their products.

Sammy boys crying in the camp. Ads didn't work again. Why we can't get lines like those.

I'm fairly sure Samsung fans enjoy the ability to walk into a store and buy the product they want instead of having to wait all night in the cold in front of a store to buy one on launch day, or risk not getting one for weeks.

One definitely sounds more pleasing than the other. Just saying.

Hey that's a picture of the Eaton Center downtown Toronto!!! :)
Never seen a line up that long there!

Just got back from one of the 2 local VZW stores. Apple did not send any Pluses to them. They had the demo model only. The line at the other store was pretty long (duh) and I have better things to do with my life than burn time in that.

I know there were supply chain issues for the Pluses, particularly with the displays and some internal components, and those have constrained supply. And I know that demand has evidently exceeded the supply, too.

But don't tell me that Apple didn't intentionally engineer a lot of this to increase the hype and free publicity that goes along with that. That marketing strategy is crap customer service. I've been through this with Apple before. It gets tiring.

It's an incredibly nice phone, but if I end up getting it, it will be online. That's bad, too. Verizon is backordered to 10/31.

To heck with the hype and hysteria and insanity.

Fans probably appreciate it, yes. Samsung, on the other hand, probably wishes quite hard that they could have the sort of anticipation and demand that Apple gets from its customers.

Maybe on some level. But, to be fair, I think MOST companies wish they could have that sort of anticipation and demand.

Apple Fans...

Nope. I'm an Apple fan and there is no way I'm getting in a line like in the OP for a flippin phone.

If I had a lawn I would be mad that people are lining up for a phone?

Says the person with a Phone5s, iPhone6, two iPad4's.

We use our Apple devices for simple things.
Make phone calls, browse the web, check email.

I tried using the iPad for work purposes and it's just not up to the job.

At my company all the sales people carry iPhones even though they have a choice. Of course they are selling high end services and carrying a Android would not make a good impression with their clients.
Our company sells multi-million dollar systems to public safety, airlines & government. I doubt they look at our mobile phones for a status symbol or a reflection of the company.
They just see that our sales/engineering staff get stuff done on the go using the mobile phone, which happens to be an Android device.

The ability to attach files to an email is such a trivial thing that I'm surprised Apple does not support it.

Same with local verizons here in central Indiana. Not a single store got any Plus models. I don't think Apple engineered this, they were sort of rock under hard place....we've read about production issues on the Plus model for months, so they either had to delay the release (which would have caused major disappointment), or release the very limited few they have produced, which causes disappointment as well but also creates hype. I suppose I can't blame them. At least some people are getting to enjoy it on day 1.

I ordered mine from Apple last night and have an October 17th delivery date.

I'm honestly surprised that the 6+ is the product that everyone wants that is in limited supply. I thought everyone would be jumping on the 6.

When I saw how big the 6+ was, I figured it would be too big for most.

Just got back from the Deerfield IL (Chicago suburb well away from the city) Apple store (in the mall there)....I figured I'd stop by and get a case (since the line is probably gone etc.).

But the line is still massive (hours long) and they still have 6 stock that they're selling....really amazing...goes along with those incredible pictures earlier in the post. I gave up, as I was out for lunch, I'll get a case another day. ;)

Well, I'm sure the regular 6 will outsell the plus sizes by a large margin - but it was basically only the regular 6 that people could get delivered by pre-order today, so anyone really wanting the + (and wanting it today) had to go wait in line...where you saw them. Also anyone wanting to flip the phone for $$$ will be wanting the plus if possible. JMHO...

When you are doing multi billion dollar sales let me know. We use custom iOS apps not just email and phone calls.
