S'all swings and roundabouts in the fickle world of consumer tech. One minute it's too huge, the next minute it's too small. All these judgements change, minute by minute, and are based upon:

# The direction the wind is blowing in.

# How much sleep the person making the statement, had last night.

# The ripeness of a randomly selected bunch of bananas in a randomly selected shop.

# The direction the tip of a leaf is facing in, after being swept along by aforementioned wind.

In other words, there's no telling.

It makes NO sense - and why should it? People change their minds in tech more than they change their socks, and with each change comes a new, convincing set of "reasons".

Too bad I don't get my 5.5 until November even though my order was in at AT&T 40 minutes after it went live.

Makes me still question - are the bands on the back of the silver phone - White or Gray? I have seen two different versions.

And next week, we shall see an EXACTLY inverted style of commenting:

"Ohh, I wish I'd got the 6 Plus now; this 6 is too small"

or...

I decided to go for the 6 Plus, after all - I am glad I did - it isn't that [big | huge] after all

Imagine a few more, yourselves - any combination will occur.

Guess what? Noone has one yet - make the judgements the sensible way - IN PERSON.

Will be possible to play with them from Friday?

Will be possible to play with them from Friday?

I mean, I know they'll sell like hot cakes and the shops will be super-crowded but do they keep some to play with all the time right?

I ordered a 6 Plus because that's what I wanted, not because it would look cool or neat or even fit in a shirt pocket. Of course I am a woman so I rarely wear shirts with shirt pockets except when I borrow one of my hubby's polo shirts. :D

Honestly I CANNOT WAIT to get my hands on this phone! I tried similarly sized devices in the stores and they always fit in my pocket just fine, plus I tend to take my phone out of my pocket when I sit down anyway so as long as it doesn't fall out while walking down the street I'm good. I rarely to never put things in my back pocket so that's not a concern. My biggest concern is will the case I order appropriately match my purple Coach purse or my Vera Bradley bag or do I just get a transparent case so everyone can see the beautiful goldness of my new phone! Probably not getting mine Friday but instead at some point between then and Oct. 7. Please get here fast!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes apple stores will have plenty demo units

Yes, these are the correct questions to be asking. Should the leather case for my new Plus match my shoes or my belt?

4.7" looking like the perfect size

5.5" probably isn't nearly as bad as it sounds to hold in hand. I'm just concerned about lugging it to the gym or on a run. Might be a little uncomfortable in fitted jeans too.

Agreed. I'm not sure what I would do with it during a long run. I don't like arm straps and I'd have to upgrade from a nice small SPIbelt to a full fanny pack to carry that thing around. Even the 4.7 will take some getting used to. (Or strap it to my chest or something...) I also wear fitted pants most of the time so yeah... No go on the plus.

So will it be HUGE or is that a smallish pocket? The 4.7" alternative is only 2cm "less huge" (tall) than the 5.5". 2cm is less than 1 inch. So it too would be sticking out of that pocket quite a bit.

Watch this video for a lesson in size perspective: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEheh1BH34Q#t=86 On my iMac screen, VY Canis Majoris- largest known star in the universe- looks like it's about 2 inches tall. If I hold an iPhone 5s up to that same screen, it looks about twice as big as the biggest star in the known universe. Point? I wonder if the 6 or 6+ will even fit within the entire universe?

Or maybe the guy is just small wearing a shirt with small pockets?

One more time: the 6+ is about 2mm taller than U.S. paper currency. Is a $1 bill "HUGE"?

Here's to hoping that's a really small pocket. :)

aww, man. I was really hoping they'd get rid of those ugly antenna lines in the time between the keynote and now.

Hopefully by this Friday.

Anyone find that the picture with the home screen, the plus wallpaper colors look much better than the 6?

Troll away there buddy

The back of the new iPhones do not look nice at all. Those lines make the phone look really cheap. I'm gonna have to compare the 6+ and Note 4 in person. But right now it really doesn't look close. The Note 4 is becoming more and more appealing, in every way, over the iPhone. Still can't believe I'm finding a Samsung an appealing device.

Wow, you really don't know the meaning of the term "subtle". First, you need some kind of radio transparent material to deal with those pesky things called "antennas". Second, you haven't even seen the Note 4 in person and there's no ship date on them either. Plus, you must really have a thing for old-lady-purse texture. Dear god, did you look at that ugly thing? Looks like some cheap pocket protector material on the Note 4. Gag. Third, if all you are interested in for making your phone decision are "those lines", you must be a load of fun at parties. /s

Lol - priorities. I know my lady will be thinking about the same thing when she gets her 6.

My 2 cents on these sizes

Although increase the screen size is not innovative, I think this is a great move!

I personally never bought an iPhone because of the screen. Like me I bet zillions of Android users will consider the iPhone 6 now that has a bigger screen. I know you ("old" iPhone users) are used to the smaller screen but trust me, you're going to love a bigger screen!

Again, the iPhone 6 Plus will be great (no pun intended) for people with big hands or who wants a massive screen. Again, this is going to hit the Samsung Note line hard - So far if you wanted a phone with a massive screen that was kind of the main option...now if you want you can buy an iPhone with a massive screen.

Personally (I have small/medium hands) I think 5.5" is a bit too much.
Screen-wise, I found the Nexus 4 (4.7") good, I think the Nexus 5 (5") is probably the limit and it feels great.

Maybe Apple could have release an 4.8"-5" iPhone and a 5.8"-6" iPhone Plus, but they probably wanted the smaller version to be fine for people with any hands size.

I look forward to test reachability and see if it's truly usable and how the interaction with it will be.

Does anyone knows how Display Zoom works? and if you can switch it easily?
