Read forums to see many exchanged 6 Plus for 6. I don't think it was possible for anyone to exchange 6 for 6 Plus (unless they're on Sprint http://www.seaturtle.org/idevice/iphone6_grid.shtml).

I'm pretty sure you can. If purchased at Apple store you have 14 days to return for full refund with no restocking fees. Then you turn around and purchase the 6 Plus, if they have stock of course. Or you could buy online or anywhere else.

Of course that's IF you want the 6 Plus. I have one. At first it was way huge. Got a case on it and much better. Not slippery anymore and I can use it one handed for most things. Fits in my pocket and is sooooo nice to have that screen. Absolutely love the Plus now and will be keeping it. Takes a bit to get used to but so does the 6.

I bet the guy got a woodie while copy and pasting those quotes.

It reminds me of the apple maps launch...where people acted like Apple would say "we messed up guys, now we can do nothing to improve this first version of our product because it was not perfect...we concede defeat to google maps"

Silly things to boast about. But yeah gives people something to meme about I guess lol

...the plastic backed 5 was an "experiment" wouldn't be surprised to see the 5C drop off the line up next summer

I think the 5C still sold pretty well, so we could see a plastic 6C next year.

the 5C will most likely drop off the line next year if Apple keeps up tradition: when a new phone (or like we have this year: phones) is (are) introduced they drop the last year's new model (iPhone 5S) to "$99" and the new model from the year before (in this case the 5C but what could have just been the iPhone 5) to "free" and dropping off the phone introduced 3 years before (the iPhone 4S, in this case) since they can't really sell a phone for less than "free"

Next year the iPhone 5 (which became the 5C) will be in the same spot that the 4S was this year. The 6 will be "$99", the 6 Plus "$199"? Actually not sure how they will handle the two phones next year, the 5S will be "free"?

0.1% of the world population bought an iPhone over the past 4 days. 7 years in, and there is still no product on the planet that drives more interest, intrigue, and lust than the iPhone. Doomed, doomed indeed.:apple::)

Despite Samsung's free flowing marketing budget, no one knows about Samsung launch dates, no one lines up in mass, it's not a national news story, and generally no one cares all that much aside from Fandroid geeks who want 8 custom home screens and are anti-Apple just because they are antiestablishment (not unlike Mac users were vs Windows users in the past). Or maybe people just dislike faux leather stitched or band-aid backings on their smartphones.

iPhone 6 Plus

I ordered mine over a week ago. Have to wait until mid-october/november to receive it. I guess Apple produced only 2 to sell. Another case of "create a demand and don't supply" techniques by Apple.:(

I read somewhere that iPhone 6+ manufacturing was about 1/4 of total iPhones. If that percentage holds up with sales as well, then about 2.5 million iPhone 6+ were sold to end users and retailers.
Thank you for answering the question I had. Not sure if you even know I asked it but you did answer it.

So it's 3/4 large and 1/4 very large sales. I thought it would have been more 50/50.

Compare and contrast to the line of hipster doofuses at the samsung store:

Oh, wait. No one there.

That's not a store. That's just a booth in the middle of a walkway.

Can't wait until September 26!! If I pre-order mine at midnight, how long would it take to get home? 3 days? 7 days? 3-4 weeks?

Assuming that all sales were for the base iPhone 6 (they weren't) at a purchase price of $650 and a 40% profit margin (it's slightly higher than than, supposedly), this means at a minimum Apple made $2.6 billion in one weekend from the iPhone 6 (less taxes)! In reality it probably closer to $3.5-4 billion.

Not too shabby.

My 64 GB iPhone 6 is the best smart phone I have EVER used, hands down. Coming from my old and slowly dying 4S, I cannot even begin to explain how amazed I am by the 6's thinness, display, and overall speed. Just amazing. :D

How about filling your freaking iPhone 6 Plus orders for Americans instead of launching in more countries.

How about you're paying 199$ for yours under contract, but i'll pay 2200$ for my 2 Pluses here in Italy. Apple doesn't care about you. It's all about BIZNIS!

Yep, 6 Plus is awesome!

I got the iPhone 6 Plus even though I thought it might be to big, but I wanted to try it. I figured worst case, I would just take it back and get the iPhone 6 4.7.:apple:

After receiving My iPhone 6 Plus Friday night, (UPS sucks, did not get until evening) and after I stopped laughing at the size of it with my wife & daughter I set my new 6+. I'm happy to say, I will not be taking it back to Apple for smaller 4.7! I absolutly love the size of the 6+, very comfortable in my hand and no problem in my pocket.

I'm actually shocked how much I like it, I was not expecting to adjust to the size of it so fast! It really is amazing and I'm aleady using my iPad Air a little less and debating if I'll get a new iPad Air when it gets updated this year? But more then likley I will due to the fact I'm a big Apple fan and just can't help myself!:apple:

Enjoying my iPhone 6 Plus like a little kid with a new toy!:)

I hear you. Both the 6 and 6 Plus are truly remarkable devices. Based on design alone, I think these models have just replaced the 4/4S as nicest iPhone's to date. ;)

I would love to see the conversion percentage from people leaving Android to switch to iOS. I overheard countless people switching from Galaxies to the iPhone 6+ this weekend at my local Apple Store (while I was buying a case for my own 6+). I always enjoyed the smaller form better, but I went with the + for the battery life and I can say I am very satisfied with my decision!

So when I went to pick up my iPhone 6 last night I witnessed two people come in with their 6 Pluses requesting to downgrade to the regular 6. When asked what was wrong, they both responded with the same "it's too big... I can't use it with one hand." Which lead me to wonder, will Apple see more of these types of returns in the coming weeks for individuals who were not able to get a hands on feel of them before buying?

I too feel the iPhone Plus is too large. It feels like an iPad nano in my hand and is extremely uncomfortable to use. Even my iPhone 6 can feel unwieldy from time to time right now.

So could Apple have pushed the iPhone market too far too fast with the 6 Plus just like they did with the Cube? Will the Plus find itself a "one and done" exercise in design?

Thoughts?

I don't consider the iPhone 6 a "downgrade" from the iPhone 6 Plus.

Having problems even with 4,7" phone? You must have DAMN SMALL hands dude.

iPhone6 :

- Bad screen aspect ratio - should be paper A6
- Too thin → Protruding camera, rather than longer battery life and flush lens
- Ugly antenna bands
- No OIS on basic model
- Base storage should be 32GB
- No wireless charging
- No iPhone 6C with all-plastic back
- No sapphire screen

I, too, hate 16:9, but I don't think it matters much with smaller devices, simply because small screens are insufficient and awkward for displaying "full" content pages no matter what ratio. Only at about 7"+ when you can start to fit a good amount of text onto a screen does it start to make a significant difference.

I would have thought this if Apple didn't significantly improve the battery life from the previous generation. But according to anandtech, they did (especially the 6+). They made it thin AND they're beating out the competition's battery life so now we don't have any room to talk. I personally see the protruding camera ring as insignificant, but that is subjective.

I wouldn't say ugly, but I think they could have handled the antenna bands better. But that is subjective.

OIS is not on the smaller model because it doesn't have the space. Makes perfect sense. Keep in mind the 6+ is not the anointed "premium" phone. It's just bigger. It has more space for more or bigger components. And that also makes it bulkier. It's all just logistics. There's no conspiracy. Apple is just giving people a different set of tradeoffs that they can choose to take.

Those who want 32GB now get 64GB for the same price, but they complain because they don't want 64GB, they want 32GB and they want it at a lower price than before? I see absolutely no justification in that demand. Imagine if they did replace 16GB with 32GB. Then you got the exact same situation with people who want 16GB. They don't want to be forced into 32GB. And they argue by the same reasoning that they should be offered 16GB for an even cheaper price. Do you see the problem there? Apple took this year to change the scaling of the 3 tier storage options to cover wider needs, and they were nice enough to not raise prices, but people still find a way to complain. Totally unreasonable.

Wireless charging is an unreasonable demand as well. It's still an immature tech that not even other mainstream phones are doing. If Apple stuck it in now, the iPhone would make all sorts of awful tradeoffs and it would be a horrible phone.

Plastic? Uh I guess, if you're into that.

Sapphire inherently has way more disadvantages than advantages for use as a phone screen. I hope they never add it on, even if it was free.

Wait, the 4 million preorders weren't included? Source?

They are included only if they were delivered. A lot of 6 Plus preorders won't ship until October. Apple's accounting policies consider phones "sold" when they ship to carriers or are delivered to the hands of customers in stores or through delivery.

10 million phones aren't 6 to 10 billion USD profit. They are probably around 7 billion revenue, but not profit.

Sorry, I always confound those three warts, as Englash is not my furst langwage. (and ****** autocorrect does not help either, it corrects too good.)
