You probably didn't specifically inform them that it has a single hairline crack, so I recommend going into an Apple store and they'll swap it out per policy.

Believe me, I tried to argue that with my Apple store manager sister to no avail. They set the policy so it doesn't matter what we think.

Actually I did inform he guy that it was a hairline crack and the phone was working normally as I was calling him with it. I see it posted everywhere and they still say that the cost for the repair is $109, but when scheduling the service I am still being charged $299 plus $6.95 shipping plus tax. No one can seem to tell me why. They just say that it is $109.

I fully own the responsibility of dropping my device and am willing to pay the $109 to get it repaired. But for $325, I'll just live with it.

Another vote for a case. You just never know when the phone is going to slip. If you dont want a case at least get a tempered glass over the screen.

Maybe the policy has changed since they initiated the screen replacement program. I'll ask my sister.

May be ugly, but my phones have all been pristine when I sold them. I'd rather have a functioning phone that doesn't look as "cool"

great so you had an ill feeling plastic brick box for 2 years. at least the next guy got a clean phone. ever heard the term you cant take it with you?

I really wonder what people do with their phones. Even the ip6+ is well below 200g and you are unable to securely hold it? Are you dropping much heavier stuff like bottles and notebooks all the time, too?

Good to all the 6/6+ naked lovers out there... There are plenty of cases that add minimal bulk that costs $10 that would have prevented that.

The $190 difference between the cracked screen repair (http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/repair/screen-damage/) and the amount you were going to be charged, could be a hold until Apple confirms there is not other damage to the phone, that it's only the screen. Although usually the payment link states that information. I would call or chat and ask for a clarification or plan a day trip to the Apple Store (reservation first!). By having the Genius examine the phone, you get a better repair quote since they don't have to deal in vague suppositions. You may tell the truth but there are others who don't.

This is a story we will read again and again, especially with as many people that have been talking about not using a case or going naked.

I know it ups the already large size, but man! The penalty for failure......

This is why I didn't care what color phone I got. I knew I was going to use a case.

I went with what I thought was the most popular color, and waddya' know. Too many people bought the grey and I'm still waiting for my phone.

As a side note...... I do have three cases for my "future" 6 plus sitting right here next to me!

OP is it a single hairline crack? It looks like it from the photo you posted.

If it's a single hairline crack that's covered by limited warranty. Just go to the nearest Apple Retail store and they can swap it out for you.

How do you figure this exactly? He dropped it and it cracked. That's his fault, not Apple's. This isn't covered under warranty.

I dropped my phone from my pocket, while seated at my desk, and the screen broke.

That stinks! :( Sorry it happened to you.
