Just figured I would throw an update. I got my 3rd iPhone 6 in three days and the 3rd one seems to do the trick no clicking nose when my finger is on the touch ID and the screen it not loose. Finally.

If your display is loose even at the slightest, check to see if the phone also leaks light in the dark. Mine did leak LED backlight where the glass was loose. Took it to the store and got a new one and all is well. First one had slightly loose Touch ID too and the replacement fixed that as well.

Ha! Funny I stumble across this thread. I just got a replacement iphone cause my screen was loose (lower left corner "clicked" in and out) and was getting worse. I too had the touchID ticking thing with that phone. Replacement has been in hand for only a few hours so I won't be able to tell if the screen thing is still an issue as it seems to show itself after the first couple of days and then get progressively worse. This one still does the touch Id tick thing though... Not nearly as loud however. Probably a non-issue but curious nonetheless

I'm not thrilled to report that my replacement device has already started exhibiting the loose-screen clicking issue. I have not put it in a pocket, it has not left my house.

I was really hoping that a replacement phone would cure ONE of the two annoyances with my launch-day iPhone (screen clicking or touchID ticking) but nope.

I'm very disappointed with the build quality of these first iPhones. I'm starting to wonder if I should either get off of the new model cycle and jump back to the "s" cycle or just wait until the initial rush of launch day phones is gone and get a phone once it's calmed down.

Right now, I'm waiting to see which unit I have in hand exhibits the issues worse and I'll call apple/return the one that is better of the two.

not 100% satisfied with this $1000 piece of technology right now.

I thought my phone just had a slightly loose home button, but it turns out the screen makes some noise if pressed by the sim tray slot and you can feel the screen move into the case slightly if you press by the volume buttons. By the volume buttons it also makes popping sounds on occasion. Was hoping I could live with the home button but I think with the screen noise it's going back. Bummer too...was hoping to avoid playing the lottery.

I used a serial number tracker (link can be found on these forums somewhere) and found that my replacement was made the same week (35) but at a different foxconn facility. Therefore, I would imagine that if there is an inherent issue -- and there seems to be, it won't be recognized and possibly corrected until a future production date.

You *may* be better off to hold off for 2-4 weeks and then have Apple send you a replacement.

Very possible. I'm debating trying an exchange or just doing a return and waiting a month or so. Last time I wait in line for a launch device. Sigh...

I have this issue. When I tap the left side of the screen it clicks and I can tell the screen is loose.

I'm going to wait a few months and then have it replaced as it's not a huge deal, but definitely annoying. Figure later batches might be safer.

Yes I am having the same issue, it’s the bottom right corner for me. It’s relatively slight thought so I am not sure if I should have it replaced since the refurbished models they give you have always come with issues of their own in my experience.

Usually when I replaced my iPhone once, the next time was right around the corner because of dust wonder the screen, home button issues or something like that.

I can only advise everyone to try and get a full swap for a brand new phone and not a refurbished one.

just fyi i didnt return mine after all :)

1. i cant be bothered playing the lottery game
2. i found myself putting wayy too much thought into this phone, from cases, to potential defects, to iOS versions to comparisons with Androids, i thought i should just start enjoying it.

Yea man it’s the same thing for me as well.
I almost feel like a phone hypochondriac.

Just pressing along the screen, shaking the phone, checking the screen and so on. I think if everyone did this there would be so many replacements that you would probably have to wait a month for an appointment at the genius bar.

If it gets worse and I notice it without actually paying attention to it I might reconsider but for now I’ll just accept it.

Still way better than dust under the screen or faulty vibration, both issues I had with replacement devices...

Just got my i6 and my screen is making clicking sound aswell. Any luck changing the phone with this issue?

Mine is doing this..... It's actually the entire left side if you look closely.. Well then. Off to the apple store it is. This will be my 2nd replacement already. I got this one because my first one had dust under the screen.

You have had the EXACT same problems as me, scary haha

I sent my first iPhone back because it had a C shaped stain under the screen, now I have the left side of the screen being slightly loose. I really don't wanna have to call Apple again... cost me $20 to call them about my previous problem!

Grrrrr, This is getting annoying!

Damnit guys quit posting this stuff! My iPhone 6 will be ready to pick up Wednesday and now when I get it I'll be checking if it's bent, yellow screen, loose home button, creaky/loose screen, interlace issues, dead pixels, gap between case/screen, noisy home button, crappy camera, crooked print on back, instead of enjoying my new phone! :(

Damn it. Why did you have to post this list. I wasn't aware of these issues, but now I'll have to check for all of them. I guess I better make a half dozen Apple Store appointments for next week

What really worries is what comes in the future

I found out occasionaly that the glass does this click sound, it was only today (3 days after I bought the phone) and I figured out that when you are just tapping normally and touching on the screen, you dont even hear or feel it, what really worries me is if in the future this could evolve to something worse. If I were to request the whole unit replacement I would have to go to the single apple store here in Brazil which is in Rio, the other stores offer only repairs and if they request the whole unit to apple it may take a month, so I decided to try to forget about it and maybe when I go to Rio I can deal with this.

I have it on the left and right bottom corners.
When I press there, there is a tiny click like the screen clicks back in place. Happens on both corners. After a while i can click it again.
Not gonna return it, dont care unless it gets worse. Had to exchange once allready 1,5 month ago because of a bend Iphone 6, byebye glass screenprotector. It was on there for 12 hours..... Wont waste another glass screenprotector.
Maybe I'll visit the apple store so they can make a note about it, so when it gets worse they wont make a fuss about replacing my phone.

Flew home: click. In office: no click.

My glass "clicks" on the right edge of the phone. However, it is not doing it right now in the office?? I just flew home last night, I had two flights. By the second flight I really noticed the click and examined the edge and actually saw the glass 'heaving' in and out on the right side. But right now? It's not doing it.

SO..... I wonder if this has something to do with environment as well... if the materials are susceptible to changes in air pressure, heat from the internal parts, air temperature etc.

HMM.

About the clicking noise...

I had the same issue on the bottom right part of my phone.
What I did is to unscrew a little bit the 2 screws on the bottom of the device.

My guess is that sometimes the screen is screwed too tight and thus is stretched a bit more than normal, producing these clicking noses.

I have this issue too. The screen "clicks" when you press the bottom right corner, not consistently but still annoying. Sent it in to be looked at (don't live near apple store) and thought id tell them about the crescent facetime issue too (may aswell sort it out if im sending it for something else) and they sent it back to me and said they couldnt find an issue. Ironically as i took it out of the box after getting it back it made the loudest click ive ever heard. I might be near an apple store in a few weeks so il mention it there

I have the same thing happen on the right side of the screen. It happens randomly, but you have to touch it harder then usual to notice. Not a big deal for me.
