i reckon its beadblasted liquidmetal. it has a completely different luster to that of aluminium. either way, the iphone 6 is going to be amazing

Tipped? By who? Ah yes - rumour mongers who hang on every word Tim Cook says at AlllThingsD, and intentionally read too much into his comments to suit their agenda, and then parrot a set phrase enough times across the internet to ensure everyone sees it "as fact".

Noone told noone anything, they assumed it.

Wait, sorry, I got fed half a story and missed the update on the news site (which I thought was MacRumors) which said it was bollocks.

Couldn't care less what a CEO says. Would rather the products speak for themselves. :)

Sorry about the ****** image. If you can't read the caption, it says, "From this photo, it seems clear that the entire screen is capable of holding a bit of liquid whilst laying on a flat surface. It appears that the edge of the screen rises first and then tapers to meet flush with the rounded edges of the body. Cool."

I see what you mean with this.

to play devil's advocate here...it could be where you think it goes up near the edge (before it goes down) is actually where the clear part of the screen/glass/whatever meets the non-clear part.

not saying my reasoning is true, it could be warped a bit more there. maybe they found it keeps a finger on screen or that bulge helps protect the screen.

I want those mini apple emblems in stickers, please include a slide in the iPhone 6 packing!~ I have too many of the huge ones already :p

Looks very familiar

Strange, that beveled display looks exactly like the Tech Armor Ballistic Glass screen protector currently available for iPhone.

Yeah I'd say it helps you get a better idea of the touch field, as the curve won't be part of it. Feeling an extremely subtle rounding up before down will allow you to more easily stay in that area, and could feel better in keeping your finger from moving beyond the point where it could slip off.

You'd have to link it, I looked for it but no clue what you mean.

It's just a trick of light.

The sapphire itself may be more brittle, but since it's adhered to a very rigid aluminum iPhone body, the sapphire solution is superior.

No, that takes away even the tiny flex that the material has and makes it crack even easier. That's why the iPhone 4 cracks upon the tiniest impact.

Get your eyes checked.

If Apple doesn't give me 5.5 inches on day 1 I'll be really upset. I will have to seriously look hard at the note 4.

Good news! Tim Cook is holding a presser in a few hours where he'll announce that he read your comment and to make sure you don't suddenly switch ecosystems, he'll be launching a 5.5" iPhone with immediate availability!

This is probably a better indication as to where the top bezel ends and where the screen starts, right where it switches from black to grey.

I agree.

And if the screen is indeed 4.7", this means the horizontal size of the screen is 2.3", based on that and the image the top bezel is 0.51". The 5s is 0.65".

So the bezel looks like it has reduced, but not by much. Certianly the speaker is still near the middle of the top bezel.

I wonder why the part of the cable at the tip of the stylus looks photoshop-smudged/blurred.

They have clearly blurred out some text here.

The question is why? Probably give away that it is fake? Or maybe gives away the assembly plant that has leaked the part? Who knows.

100% of the time when the flashlight function is being used, I'm holding the phone in my hand.

SM

youre not a server, who uses it to sweep their section 100% of the time either.
im glad you know what you do when you enable your own flashlight on your own phone though
