I know everyone always screams for a bigger battery as the solution, but one thing I have noticed that annoys me about my GS3 is how long it takes to charge the battery. There are tradeoffs, and I think Apple tries to balance all of them. That said, there are situations where just having the raw capacity would be very nice, especially considering it is not swappable.

My battery already lasts me all day... easily
And I charge every night so I start the day with a fresh charge

I am not opposed to better battery life, obviously, but battery life isn't an issue for me at all

Given the new TSA regulations about requiring phones to have charge to be allowed on flights, I can see alot of these phones ending their lives being blown up in remote sand bunkers.

What a stupid comment. They only need enough charge to turn on and function when you board the plane, so that you can show it's an actual functioning device and not a hollowed out shell filled with explosives.

NOWHERE is it stated you need enough charge to last the entire flight.

With an 1900mah battery and with A8 more power efficient, Apple can reach 2 days of battery usage

I'm looking forward to the more svelte model. This is site is full of doom sayers sometimes.

You WANT a fatter phone? Then get a battery case. Some people prefer the slim design. Every time I take my case off of my 5S I think... damn this thing is awesome and I hate how fat the case makes it. Thinner would mean that a case would make it the same thickness as it is now without one.

Also, this isn't "worse" battery, it's slightly bigger, so it'll probably be about the same, which is fine for the average user.

Stop your crying people!

It's just another imaginary problem for the Apple haters to whine about. I'm also a heavy user and my phone has about 20-30% left at the end of a day at work.

How much thinner do Apple devices need to be? They're going past the thinness threshold, where performance is heavily impacted by their design.

I think this is funny... Yeaaaa Apple's batteries seems small compared to others. But still - My iPhone 5S outlives my Galaxy S5 with MANY hours :) Not just the size that matters. Altso the OS, the other hardware and how it works together.

really? i charge mine at least twice a day, i got up at 10 am this morning, it is now 3:40 pm and i just had to plug it in to charge (at around 6%)

the iPhone 5 is thin enough imo

If that was their concern, perhaps there are other solutions. If they can't make a high-capacity battery that can be charged quickly then perhaps two batteries that can be charged in parallel?

I've loved my iPhones, but the battery life is the one consistent complaint that I have. Thanks to iOS and the App store I use my phone a lot more than previous smartphones, but the battery capacity - while better - hasn't improved to the same degree.

Apple products are meant to be held, not compared to specs of competitive products. By keeping their flagship phones the thinnest and lightest, they maintain a position that virtually defies competition.

It's the difference between a reviewer saying "you just have to hold it and use it to understand what I'm saying" and "here's the specs of Apple and here are the specs of Samsung."

That being said, I've never had a real complaint about battery life in any iPhone but I do know people that do complain so I would like more battery life and I value that a little more than Apple probably does.

There is no way in the world that I can go a whole day on a full single charge in the morning. Most people I know in NYC no matter what their phone is cannot go a whole day without trying to get some charge here or there. Power users vs casual. That's all it is.

After a year the battery in my 5 pretty much failed. At 15% it would shut off. As soon as I plugged it in it would read 30%+.

Bigger batteries aren't the answer.

Intelligent power management and more efficient components are.

You do realize there's more people who want better battery life than those who want a smaller phone, stop being ignorant.

One must not forget that the A8 will most likely be more energy-efficient and the display will also most likely not use up all the additional battery capacity.
Especially 2500mAh sounds quite promising actually.

I hope this is true. So desperate for better battery life, even in my 5S.

Power users LOL
I love it when people throw that term out :)
