Hi All,

I'm looking for some thoughts and opinions from users on the 6 vs Plus. I understand unltimately it'll be in actual use where I will see which one I'm happy with but just some thoughts would be good to hear.

Basically I already have a 6 but now my partners 4 is slowly dieing and I need more storage than the 16GB model I picked so I'm getting a new one and handing my 6 to her. Now this brings about which one to pick this time.

When I got my 6 it felt big and I honestly thought I'd never want a Plus having seen them in store but now a couple of months down the road my opinion has changed. The 6 feels much smaller now and seeing the Plus I don't think of it as being so big anymore.

I suppose what I'm really after knowing is to those with the Plus do you feel more productive and are there any moments where you just wish you had a smaller device? Finally are the issues I read just blown out of proportion by the Internet. By this I mean the bend issue and I have also read about performance issues with the Plus. Is any of this really such a problem?

Thanks for any replies.

I feel the larger screen increases my overall experience with the phone. I think its helpful in using the apps. The downside is of course carrying it, i.e., in your pocket or where ever.

You can't have your cake and eat it as they say. The positives for me out weigh the negatives.

Sounds like you already have reasons for going with the Plus. You will have 14 days to try it out if you go for the 6+. There are tons of threads already that can answer your questions.

That is what I was going to write as well! I had the 6 and sold it to get the 6+. The extra screen size means I don't use my iPad as much anymore. I would say get the 6+.

I would say the 6+ is a better choice on one criteria - and that is whether or not you can fit it in your pocket without it sticking out or bending. I actually went for the normal 6, which already has better battery than the 5S, but with a 6+ I can imagine going all day long playing games without a worry.

On the 6 side of things. I went with the 6 due to my hand size. The 5s was perfect and the 6 is just about to big for one handed use by me. Fitting in the pocket was never an issue, as I like baggy pants with larger pockets, so even if I went with the 6+, I would have been covered.

Was not concerned about bending, as I am careful to take my phone out of my pocket before sitting. Screen size on the 6 is nice and battery life in not an issue. Mind you I do not play game on my phone or use it excessively through the day. I can usually go 2 days on a charge.

Have had both the 6 and 6+ in my hands and went with the 6. Found the 6+ was just to big. But others say it is just perfect. If I want something larger than the 6, I will go with an iPad. Besides, by the time I put a case on the +, it would be even more bulky.

Both have their pluses, but I really think you have to see and use them side by side to be able to really make your own decision.

Every time I pulled out my phone and look at the screen, I've always enjoyed its large screen size.

Every time I'm done using it and putting it in my pocket, I've wished it was smaller in size.

At 100% of the time I own my 6+, I very much appreciate the longer battery life. For this reason alone, I wouldn't want to settle on a 6.

At least try the 6+. It feels very big for a first week, but than, imho, it will be just a normal sized phone with superior screen and battery life. I can also use it one handed (left hand only, do not no why) without any problems.

Agreed with the above post. I remember getting my first flat screen TV and marveled at its size and wondered what was I doing with such a large TV. Well, it didn't take long for the TV to start looking small to me.

there must be a few thousands threads asking this. Doesn't anyone believe in looking through existing threads?

This is another thing pushing me towards the Plus, that battery life would be sweet. I have to say one question to those with one. Apps that are not optimised for the 6/6+ look just fine to me on the 6 but how blurry do they look on the Plus with that bigger screen?

Really like the plus and I'm glad I chose it over the regular six. Only problem I have is it sticks out of some pockets. Other than that I'm fine with it. Great device.

I'm still on my iP 5, and will upgrade in January. I still have not decided which phone to get. I want the Plus, but pocketability is my issue. I don't have any Cargo pants. And I'm not carrying a man bag. I'll figure something out.

It really depends on your hand size, use case and tolerance for a really large phone footprint. If you have really big hands and use your phone a lot then the 6+ will probably work really well for you. It's got a big beautiful screen!

But, to me, that's all the 6+ has. OIS doesn't make much difference and the extra battery life is a waste for my use case. Having 76% battery still left at the end of the day isn't useful to me.

After the first week the novelty of the 6+ larger screen was over for me. Yea, it's great but the form-factor of the phone isn't. The darn thing is so big in a regular jeans pocket! I spoke with a couple co-workers about this and their solutions didn't work for me either (don't put it in your pocket, wear a jacket with big pockets). To me the phone should conform to me not the other way around.

In the end I returned and I'm now considering a 6.

They look kinda goofy. Here is the latest version of the Ebay app:

Thank you for the responses, they have been useful in making my decision. I have taken the plunge and gone for the Plus this time. I'm sure I'll like it, can't wait.

congrats. just give yourself time to adjust to its size. it might be overwhelming at first but it will grow on you and you'll start loving it.

I can agree with this. I went from the 5s to the 6 Plus and the extra 1.5" screen took a while to get use to. Now 3 months later when I pull out an older iPhone I laugh at how small it is. You'll also find the keyboard on the 6 Plus much easier to use.

I am just the opposite and tried the 6 Pous twice and went back to my 6. Yes the screen is bigger but it is just plain bigger than I want to put up with all day.

To me going from the 5S to the 6 was perfect and remains so.

Each needs to make their own choices as each here will claim that their choice is the right one. If you pick the 6 Plus, stick with it for a while as it does seem huge at first. In a week or so that does wear off to a point.

What ever your choice, enjoy your new phone.

Think well about it: it's really not easy to carry around a big phone.

Not if you use a Swype keyboard.... Smaller is better

Cheers, I'm looking forward to it coming. I feel sure I'll get on with it and since the 6 I've been placing my phone in my jacket pocket anyway. As well as this I think I'll get used to easier since geting the 6, I can't do one handed use anymore, but I then find it can feel two small for two handed. Might sound odd that but I do sometimes find it that way.

at first coming from a 5s i thought the 6plus was pretty big and almost wanted to get a 6. but i originally wanted the bigger screen and chose that instead when the store closest to me had the phone i originally wanted (6plus 64gb in silver) i got that and no regrets. it does fill up a whole pocket (shorts, jeans) but other than that after 2 weeks it feels like a regular phone.
