Guys I'm not a troll and I hope I'm wrong. I hope it turns out looking super classy. But I definitely prefer the square design. I owned an iPhone 1 and a 3GS and a 4S and now a 5C. Out of them all, the 4S was my favorite and I have major lust for the gold 5S and the slate 5 (all black 5).

I'm just concerned that Apple is going too simple and too much back to the whole simple rounded original iPhone look because what I really want is a gold or slate 5S at 4.7 or 5.5 inches.

What it really comes down to is that I feel like I missed out on the awesome iphone 5 design, because I was on the S cycle and ended up with a 5C instead of a 5S since they were out of stock at the time. Now I'm kicking myself because the 6 is coming very shortly and it's nt going to be the nice 5 design. I don't want to get a 5S when the 6 is going to havel the bigger screen and newer features. But I want the design of the 5S.

So it's really a personal problem.

What is simple about this?

How is this design simpler than the current 5/5S design. I really don't understand your train of thought here.....

Honestly, the curved design makes a TON more sense as it'll make the phone (which may be shockingly large for those who have been solely on iPhones for a long time) more comfortable to hold.

I guarantee you'll be coming back here to these forums gushing about how beautiful the device is and how nice it feels in hand when you get yours.

Happens. Every. Year.

The design is simpler because it's rounded. There are no corners, no chamfered edges, no points or hard angles for it to shimmer like jewerly.

Sorry I don't buy that. I think the square designs are easier to hold. The edges gives you more grip. I don't want something round and slipperly. That was one of the problems I had with the 3GS, it was slippery and hard to hold without a case on it.

I certainly hope so, because I want the bigger screen and better features. So I really hope you are right.

it looks fine based on the leaks. But I must say IMO the iPhone 4/4S is still one of the best designs. You just cant beat that stainless steel and glass on the back. :D

Not everyone wants their phone to "shimmer like jewelry."

Hey, to each his own I guess. My 5C is far more comfortable to hold. The chamfered edges, while nice to look at get scratched pretty easily. If you look at the display pieces and the videos closely, you'll see there is a curvature to the display that mimics a chamfered edge, though its more subtle.

Well don't you worry - I will be. Every year there are tons of people who complain about the design of the device. Wait until Tuesday to complain. Even these pieced together iPhone 6's in the videos likely don't do the completed product justice. You'll see the Apple video which will show every little detail and show the manufacturing process and you'll fall in love.

Maybe not. But a lot of people didn't seem to have a problem with it on the 5 and 5S or the 4 and 4S for that matter.

Apple will make it look good. They always do.
People will come around and say that they love it the second it comes out.

The bands on the 6 don't look as awaked as the glass panels on the 5/5s, we're just used to them. The 6 also may not look as classy because of no polished edges, but I'm not too worried about that. I think when we get used to the 6, the 5/5s will look gaudy in comparison. The MacBook Pros look great, and they are more understated. What I am wondering about is the thicker plastic band around the display, and the rounded glass. Those two things make it look more like a standard android phone.

Im looking forward to the round design. And it's going to be so much nicer in person then what we've seen in leaks thus far. Haven't we learned this by now? This is a big launch for Apple. You can bet your life that it's gonna be a top notch device. No doubts or worries here.

Even the new Galaxy Alpha looks classy compared to what I've seen of the iPhone 6.

You lost all credibility after I read this.

See, "classy" is subjective.

To me, the gold ring around the Gold 5S' home button (and the Silver on the White 5S) is the most tacky, cheesy, cheap and lame looking thing ever released on an iPhone. To me, that's not classy in the slightest.

With that said, those fat antenna bands on the leak 6 images also have no class whatsoever. We'll see how the final product looks, not to mention how it looks in when it's in your hand.

Nope. Not classy at all.

It looks like a $3 hoe. No mods, not what you're thinking... sheesh... a GARDENING tool.

Dirty. Filthy. Hoe. (from hard work in the garden, what else?)

*insert picture of hoe here... the gardening one*

I forgot to quote all the people complaining about how the break in the band was so un-Apple and years later people are complaining about the band on the back of the iPhone 6.

This forum really does repeat itself every year before and after an announcement. The ones unhappy complain the loudest before a release and after they all get drowned out by all the people who purchased the new device and were happy.

Well to the complainers' credit, antennas are SO 19th century for radio comm. you'd think Apple would have innovated around that by now.

I agree with the OP. I think the current design is fantastic. The leaks for the new one... while I DO like the look, it does seem like a step back. And not to "beat a dead horse", but it's big. I don't need a 4.7" screen. I really think 4.3" would be the the sweet spot. The current phone with a 4.3" screen, and less bezel, would have been perfect.

That being said.. I said the same thing when the iPhone 5 was coming out. I hated that it was getting so much taller but I wasn't thinking that it would have an actual 1.85:1 screen. Now the 1.5:1 on the 4 (my work phone) is just terrible. So.. I'm sure I will end up liking this one better. Every single iPhone has gotten better. Except that I like my black 5 over the "space gray" 5s.
