Playing music, phone calls, and standby time are the only things that will last longer on a 6+ than an SE. If your main use is with the screen on, you'll get just as good if not better battery life on the SE.
I'm not sure that's true. The battery in the 6+ is a heck of a lot larger than the one in the SE. Yeah, the screen is bigger, but I'm not sure it's that big of a difference.

the big issue with 6+ / 6s+ (or any phone that size) is not having big/small hands or getting used to it..it's portability and carrying it which can be a real headache.unless you live some where cold where you wear a jacket all the time, carrying it will be problematic..imagine wearing just jeans and t-shirt..it's definitely hard to carry it..you either have to keep in in your hands all the time (awkward, not to mention more risk of it being stollen, etc) or have to force fit it in your pockets which will look stupid and will risk damaging it if you sit on it.

for this reason I'm downsizing from a phablet size to small again.otherwise I never had any problem using it.just carrying it is the problem.

the iPad + regular size phone is the best option imo.

It's not just the larger screen, but the much higher resolution which requires more processing power and, in turn, more battery.

The battery in the iPhone 6s Plus is 1.69x bigger than the iPhone SE's battery, but the display is 1.89x bigger.

The battery in the iPad Air 2 is 2.67x bigger than the iPhone 6s Plus and the screen is 3.47x bigger.

When you factor in the fact that the iPhone 6s Plus has almost 3x as many pixels to push as the iPhone SE, while the iPad only has about 1.5x as many pixels to push as the iPhone 6s Plus, the numbers seem to add up pretty nicely. If the iPhone SE had a 1080p display, I'm sure you'd see a drastic reduction in battery life.

I'm not going to explain it to you, but it's not that simple.
