iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus: a simple guide

I have both and have been using both. The plus is just too conspicuos and I like being able to hold the phone comfortably in one hand. I don't play games or watch movies. The OIS is nice but what I find is it only helps in low light. Given the same image the 6 may choose iso 400 where the plus chooses 100. Thats just not enough to justify lugging around a bigger awkward phone.

Now let's find out if you need the 6 or 6 Plus!
I guess you already noticed that less points means less screen size.
0-11 points: definitely get an iPhone 6.
12-23 points: watch your tendency. Both could make you happy.
24-34 points: definitely get an iPhone 6 Plus.

Nice results! Glad to see another satisfied 6 Plus owner. :)

Scored a 26, putting my in the "Definitely iPhone 6 Plus" category. Glad I purchased the Plus. So far, best phone I've ever owned. The 5s is a close second however. Being 6'5" with big hands, it was a tough decision because I had always thought 5"+ phones were too big and I had my heart set on the 4.7" form factor for so long. But it is SO much easier to type on the Plus now however. I have no regrets, except maybe the fact that I got the iPad mini a few months ago and now wish I had gotten the iPad Air since the minis size is so close to that of the 6 Plus (especially widescreen videos which I tend to watch a lot of).

Sorry to hear that you're unhappy with a mini. But glad to hear you like your iPhone 6 Plus just as much as I do. Even though I am just 5'8" I still have no problem with using the phone :D
This actually resembles the "fights" in October '13 when people were saying "I want a smaller iPad it can travel better no one should buy an iPad Air it's oversized owners of the iPad Air suck".
Nowadays, many people here on the forums are like "I want a smaller iPhone it can fit in your pocket better no one should buy an iPhone 6 Plus it's oversized owners of the Plus model suck"

I love my iPad mini, it's a great device but it's kinda fallen dormant since getting my 6 Plus. I still use it every now and again, but not as much as I'd like too. Maybe I can find someone willing to trade but I think for now I'll stick by it.

I think what has really hindered my use of it if the ZAGGKeys Folio keyboard case I have it in. It's a great keyboard, but I wish it detached easier. I know someone with the "Rugged" version of my case which is a heck of a lot thicker (kinda like an Otterbox defender with a keyboard) but the iPad is held the the keyboard by magnets. That friend is also getting a Plus and considering dumping their iPad mini so I may offer them some cash for the case and see if that changes my usage pattern.

Good luck with that case. (pun intended)
I never use cases because I love the metal design, but I also don't do much outdoors so my phone almost never is in a precious spot. If I were to travel more or do more outdoor sports maybe I'd get a rigid case too :p

I was considering going case-less on my 6 Plus but once I felt the leather case from Apple I feel in love. The iPad is a different story however since its a bigger sheet of glass that's even easier to break.

Nice list.

I think in my case the 2 key questions to determine which one to get are:
The Camera optical stabilization is kind of a magnet for those who want to get the best camera.
The 1080p screen resolution is another one.

I would prefer to have a 4.7" with these two features. I am also kind of thinking into waiting for the 6S...but the temptation is too great to have one before Halloween...:D

Are 6 Plus available better than 6 in your region?
Also, what score did you get? :)

I have been to a couple places and the 6+ is not available in stock, they only have a few 6 with 16Gb.

My score was at the border to get the 6+.
I like the 4.7" size better but wish it had 1080p.
After playing briefly with the 6+ I think I will get it. And the 6 for my wife, so if any iPhone 6+ midlife crisis happens I got a backup. I think for the 1st time I also might be planning to get the 6S or 6S+ next year.

Simpler guide:
Do you want a big phone or a huge phone?

I don't think you need a complex set of questions or anything. Do you want a larger phone or not.

If you don't get the iPhone 6, if you do get the iPhone 6 plus.

I like the upside of the IP6+ including a longer battery and OIS for the camera but the bottom line still boils down to, whether you want a 5.5" form factor or a 4.7"

When do you people get it?
This guide is for people who can't decide on their own.
If you know which one you want, ignore this thread... If you don't know, then this guide is supposed to help you. It's not the ultimate tool to fix everything and I never stated that.
It's sad that so many people are simply bashing the thread for trying to help people who can't decide between the two and aren't fully aware of what they really value in their iPhone.

Do you want a larger phone or not.

It's especially sad since a staff member completely misses the intention of this thread and boils it down to something it wasn't intended to be. Because those who know whether they want the large or small one don't need a guide.
