6+ 8.0.2 and I have experienced the exact same issues. Not 100% reproducible but has happened a number of times

I've had lots of accelerometer problems on both of my Pluses. Getting stuck in certain orientations, and not changing orientation when its supposed to change.

Add me to the list of plus owners experiencing issues with orientation. If the problem (lag) was a software issue, wouldn't the older versions that had been upgraded to the new OS experience the lag also?

Maybe they just didn't update the software to patch that specific problem?

Not necessarily, the different hardware could trigger a software bug. The iPhone 6 models are the first iPhones to have two accelerometers.

My thoughts exactly. It could be a bug with the two accelerometers and the software not being compatible. Which wouldn't surprise me considering how buggy iOS 8 is.

Same happening to me on iPhone 6+.

Hoping for confirmation that this is only a bug and will be resolved in the next update.

I had the same issue last week on iPhone 6. I was ready to go to apple store which is less than a mile away.
I restarted (turned off/on) the phone 6 days ago and have not seen the problem since. I have tried every possible way to make it fail (stuck in orientation) but its been working flawlessly.

I've had it too. I didn't noticed it at first, but first noticed a handful of pictures in my photo album that aren't oriented correctly. I guess it was stuck at the time I was taking pics, and I didn't know.

Then today I had the issue when I couldn't get YouTube to go landscape. A restart fixed it… for now.

Glad to see it's likely software.

I'm an iPhone 6 with 8.0.2

Orientation sensor/accelerometer is definitely annoying on the 6 plus. I notice it mostly from the camera. It rarely detects the landscape orientation properly. If I notice, I have to go vertical and back to landscape again for it to switch. A significant number of photos have to be manually rotated because it didn't detect properly, and they were definitely landscape shots with the phone in a full landscape orientation and aiming forward.

Software bug. Mine either gets stuck in landscape mode or portrait mode.

Only workaround is to do a reboot.

My phone was setup as a new phone so i believe it is not a problem with my previous backups whatsoever.

Even in apps and games the orientation is buggy.

Sometimes it works perfectly. Like when i am already in landscape mode, launching Safari should already be in landscape. But it is not

i had this problem on my first 6+, and i still have this problem on my second 6+

i had to get a new one bc the home button was loose on the first one. anyways, i've found that turning off the reachability feature under settings solved the problem for me...so if you don't use that feature, just turn it off.

i think it is a software issue, but if this problem persists in the next iOS update, i will return my 6+ again.

I had loads of camera/photo orientation issues on my 6 plus and also a few home screen issues as well. Since updating to 8.1 beta 2 it has not happened once so I think it's fixed for me at least. Shame about the constant resprings..... Beta 3?.....
