I'm not sure if the Kindle app just hasn't been updated for the 6 Plus' resolution yet, but on mine the text looks extremely blurry, making it slightly annoying to read. I'll continue to use my iPad mini for reading until they can update the app, which I hope is soon. I really enjoy the size of the plus, and having read news articles on it I could definitely see myself using it as my main ebook reader.

It was updated for iOS 8 but not specifically for the new screen sizes.

For my part, I retired my Kindle for my iPad a long time ago, though I have to admit the new super deluxe Kindle they just announced (for $200!) looks really nice. And I don't find myself reading outside much. Maybe a week or two on the beach every year and for that there's always actual books

I can't wait for my Kindle Voyage!!!

Uh oh, new thread coming in the Kindle forums! My ship date for the Voyage is 11/28! That's ~30 days after release. You would think it's an iPhone or something. Seems nobody makes enough for launch day.

To those of you buying the 6+, do you plan on making much less use of your Kindle?

I use my iPad Air and the Kindle app for e-books. Plan on doing the same when at home. I'll use the Plus when out of the house.

no way.

1. one charge of kindle can survive a whole month
2. I can read book on kindle nonstop for hours without hurting my eye
3. I have a waterproof bag for kindle to use it in hot tub
4. Even if my waterproof bag leaks it's $110 not $700+

kindle app is only good when you stand in the line of McDonald or sit on the toilet. Actually, for the later one, I prefer old iPhone because I can hold it with one hand and wipe my a** with another ;) just kidding

6 Plus is already replacing my iPad Air for iBooks reading. It works great and is a lot more comfortable (with the Air, I need a pillow under it for long reading sessions because the weight starts to get to me). I've also fallen asleep while reading a few times and have the Air come crashing down on my face, it's not fun. While the battery life can't stack up to a Kindle, it's not bad either. Since I usually read with brightness set to minimum in the dark and the app itself uses little CPU, it doesn't use much battery.

Another nice thing about iBooks (if you use that) is it seems they have decreased the margins in iOS8. Between that and the larger screen, it fits 3X-4X the amount text on a page as my 4S at the same font size. iBooks also does 2-up page layout in landscape view on the 6 Plus.
