I was actually awake trying over and over to order a 6 Plus. Verizon's site was just a freaking crap-show. Slow loading, errors loading pages, and then for the cherry on top anytime I got to the point where I could actually order the phone it would throw up an "error retrieving ECDP from account" (which apparently was because of the corporate discount on our account, and a lot of people were getting it...)

It seemed to be fixed by 8/9AM that morning, but the shipping dates were already in late October/early November. Decided it'd be easier and faster to just show up at the store and hope for the best.

A lot of people are acting like it's dumb to wait at the store. For some people, it's fun. For others, it was necessary this time around. I would have preferred to pre order online, but it just didn't work out.

I've preordered every year I learned very fast, order from apple or don't order. I was persistant with the app , took 30 min. Delivery dropped to 7-10 days sono selected the nearest apple store for pickup.

Some of us weren't as lucky as you. The Apple store page was down for over an hour after preorders were supposed to open up, as well as the Verizon app and Apple store app not working for me at all.

I would say finding an iPhone 6+ this year will be just as hard as finding a gold iPhone 5S was on launch day last year. I was about 50th in line last year having gotten to the Apple Store around midnight.

Luckily got my order through so will be lining up in my office waiting for delivery :D

Yeah, it's going to be definitely hard. The 6+ 64GB model will be tough to get.. especially the Space Gray. I know I plan to get whatever 6+ 64GB model I can get.. whether it's Gold or White/Silver.

Probably around 3:30-4AM.

Call various carrier stores on Thursday night and see if they can tell you how much stock they'll have in the morning. Drive a little further to go to a store that's around less populated areas.

Less populated areas will have fewer phones. My ATT store in my little hick town will have 13 total between all of the models.

I've lined up twice at an Apple Store in a major mall. Both times I got there around 7-8am and the line was already about 250-300+ deep. Both times I was able to get a phone on launch day.

This year, I will be going to my UPS service branch to pick up my phone from will call at 8am on launch day.

Was the device you got on those launches the "popular" model that year? i.e. gold last year

Probably sometime in 2017. I'm not the kind of guy to be first in line and I always operate one generation behind. Didn't mean for that to rhyme but I suppose it did. Can someone who's very into owning a piece of technology the second it comes out explain to me what the rush is all about? Not being a jerk, just literally don't get it.

Corporate ATT store. Big ATT sign above the door and nothing else. 6 or 8 employees with 4 pay stations.

Go on AT&T website. Use store locator, then find that store. It'll say corporate or authorized retailer.

I have 5 stores near me but only one is a corporate location. They all are dedicated AT&T stores.

I'm asking to see if corporate stores are getting better stock numbers than retailers

I've never personally lined up, but it's not that difficult to understand the appeal. You really like something and you would like to get it the moment it comes out. Add to that the inevitable camaraderie and perhaps experience of camping out in unique circumstances. I'm sure some people have the time and find it fun. More power to them.

The ATT store opens at 10. It's right down the street from me so I'll ride pass at 7 and see if there's a line.

Well I get the base desire to have something you want immediately, but are there any interesting benefits to owning one of these phones day one minute one? Thrill of unboxing, pre-packaged new iOS? Or is it mostly people just flipping them?
