Well... resolution is actually pretty great and it has nothing to do with pixel count (which is some sort "size" of the screen).

326ppi and 401ppi are AMAZING resolutions and you won't tell the difference between both (human eye can't handle above 300ppi).

1334x750 and 1920x1080 are not so great pixel counts (compared to other devices), but on phones that's actually waaay more than enough.

Of course I can see a difference in a 400ppi screen to a 300ppi screen, that "fact" that humans can't is the biggest load of bollocks.

All I can say is I own a iPhone 6 (Not Plus) and have been playing LIVE HD video from the DIRECTV APP and WOW! you cannot believe how great it looks. My friends who have android, keep saying that had all of this technoligy already. BUT IMO, Apple waited and did it right. People complain the camera is only 8MP, where android is much higher. BUT they dont looks at the optics... the iPhone seems to have the BEST optics I have seen in a phone. The pictures and video from the camera look amazing!

Great, now I'll be looking at my iPhone 6's crappy screen for the next year and wishing it was 1080p.

My personal opinion is that these are the best smartphones on the world right now. These screen tests are just the tip of the iceberg :D

If you are currently an iPhone user, then the iPhone 6 plus is the best of the series. However compared to other phones on the market no one phone could ever be the best.

The screen on the 6+ is really amazing, go to youtube and type in 4k video, in the results click on the video I believe it's called Peru in 4k...I know the iPhone scales the 4k content to 1080p but man it looks gorgeous specially with brightness all the way up!!! try it;)

Did Aliens take over... when did an iPhone ever get the abilty to record in 4K?

iPhone 6+ "best LCD" display Samsung Note 4 "best OLED display" Both winning both can brag. it's that simple

Let me fix your quote for you,
While the "best ever" designation includes the caveat of applying to LED displays and
DisplayMate continues to rate the OLED display from the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as the best overall smartphone display
See there can only be one "best" without limiting factors.

Right up there with "3.5 is the perfect size phone". It's whatever kool aid people will drink at the moment.

Both statements were to sell phones at the moment.

I bet the buttblastedness of the android crows is particularly ferocious given that the iPhone isn't technically as high resolution as some of the Android phones.

Some Android phones have AMOLED displays like most SAMSUNG phones. IPhone uses the LCD technology which has some limitations in bright light. Hence the reason the iPhone 6 with a bigger brighter screen in the LCD world is not being compared to AMOLED as being the best display, but only LCD.

Hopefully the 6S will have a 1080p display

It's understandable that Apple would put a 326dpi display -- t hey already mass produce a lot of them -- but I wish they had squeezed the same number of pixels into the 6. The Nexus 5 has a 445 dpi display and it's noticeably sharper.

I went to AT&T and was pissed when I first saw the display because I thought it was a fake model. The screen is SO good, and SO on the surface, that I thought it was printed. It was't until I touched it that I was all "ohhhhhhh damn!"

Same here. I thought it was the dummy model at Costco until I swiped the page...wow.

Well, "AMAZING" is subjective, and objectively I'm not sure you are correct that the "human eye can't handle" above 300 ppi. First of all, the anatomy of eyes are different from person to person, and some people can see >300 ppi. There are also blind studies where text is printed at differnet ppi's, like 300 v 600 and the individual is to select the higher ppi version and they normally do with great success. I did some google searching on this and found that, interestingly, many articles (even Wikipedia) links your claim that they eye can't handle >300 back to original Apple advertising with the iPhone 4. Just saying.

No it's not, I'm not saying the screen is bad, in fact I havn't seem it so when all variables are added together, it may just be "the best screen in the world", but by todays standard, 720p on a 4,7" display is NOT amazing.

The difference between the 4.7 and 5.5 screens is negligible. My 4.7 is super crisp, bright and smooth. I can't discern pixels. At that point resolution doesn't really matter.

Great display on the Plus. Disappointing on the poor resolution on the 6. Only reason I went with the Plus. I love it, but it is a big phone!

The display on iPhone 6 is great and better than 5S even with same resolution. If you actually hold both of them size by size, you won't see the difference between 2 unless you have to zoom on things like webpage, texts..., but not even with picture zoom. Don't let the number fool you. Go take a look for yourself.

Surprised by that, the LG G3 screen looked absolutely amazing in the store. Shows how good the 6+ screen is if its beating that.

You may wish to check that LG phone and see if the display was LCD or AMOLED or something else. Note that the article only refers to LCD which is an older limited technology than AMOLED.
