If you are currently an iPhone user, then the iPhone 6 plus is the best of the series. However compared to other phones on the market no one phone could ever be the best.

As stated in the post, in "my" [his] personal opinion, it is quite valid to declare it the "best smartphones on the world".

Of course that is sort of meaningless if you hold a different personal opinion. An objective analysis is always going to be difficult if not impossible, because ultimately different customers prioritize different things... unless you're going to compare a 5-year old smartphone with a modern smartphone then yes the modern one is objectively better in every way....

I just wish the 4.7 inch version had the same specs. Not sure I could do a 5.5 inch phone. I also wish it was a full 5" instead of 4.7 but now I'm just drawing at straws.

I can see it already: next year Apple announces the iPhone 6S - the "S" is for "screen", with an industry-leading OLED screen...

Dunno... OLED is a very good looking display technology, but it's a serious battery hog. My Galaxy S with its OLED barely lasts 2 hours with on max brightness. I can squeeze out 8 hours on the lowest brightness setting. Setting it to max dimness pretty much defeats the benefits of OLED, but my phone is old. Battery life is more important to me.

Of course I can see a difference in a 400ppi screen to a 300ppi screen, that "fact" that humans can't is the biggest load of bollocks.

The only "load of bollocks" is your strawman. Of course the difference can be seen by some, the point is that the difference isn't noticeable by most people with average vision at a typical usage distance. Obviously it's a spec of diminishing returns.

Let's see, higher frame rate games, or catering to people who rest the phone against their face? ;)

I'm already saving for a 6S+ myself. I'm on the "S" rotation, soooo only 51 more weeks.

Stoked!

D.
Only 51 more weeks, huh? People enjoying their iPhone 6/6+ now will again enjoy 6S/6+S next year with their NEXT 12 plan on ATT.

5" with a smaller bezel would be awesome. 5.5 is still too much I think.

Funny to see the Apple fanboys changing their speech from "anything above Retina resolution is completely worthless, you can't tell the difference!" to "OMG, the iPhone 6+ resolution is SOOOO great!!!111!!"

Who talking about resolution? We're talking about a nicer screen, not higher resolution. Resolution above "retina" on such a small screen makes little difference.

They said iPhone 6P screen looks so great. What's wrong with that? They never said it looked much better than iPhone 6 which is retina resolution. I myself was at the store and didn't see any difference in display quality bw 6 and 6+. Unless you have to zoom 10x, there's no difference bw these displays and who needs to zoom on a jumbo screen like 6+? To be realistic, people in this forum don't represent the mass of iPhone 6/6+ owners. In fact, 99% people out there at stores would care less of iPhone 6+ screen resolution.

Exactly! I will never understand it. Android users always think higher means better.

While this is true, lets be fair about it. iPhone users are EXACTLY the same way. If iPhone has something better on paper, iPhone users will use that as a sticking reference point. If it's not better on paper, they will completely ignore it, pass it off as a meaningless metric and latch on to a different argument. When iPhone's had industry leading PPI on their screens, it was a major talking point for us. Now that they don't, we say PPI isn't everything.

iPhone 6+ is a tablet. iPhone 6 is a phone.

iPhone 6+ is a tablet. iPhone 6 is a phone. It should not be compared.

If you have iPhone 6 and iPad, you have the best of the two worlds.

iPhone 6+ has similar purpose to iPad. Playing games, watching video and reading the books. It has “into your face - over the top” style if used as a phone or making the photos. As we all know 6+ has IS, which 6 doesn’t, however the handling of it is more awkward and not discrete especially if traveling in fuzzy places. For the same reason, opening tablet on the street to use it to look at the map also draws too much attention for my taste.

Yes, tablets were always more expensive then phones. Except, if buying a top loaded 6 in comparison to 6+ that has less storage space then the phone can be more expensive.

BUT, those thick plastic antenna bands at the back look really ugly.

I like these antenna bands actually. It defines its character and doesn't look boring. I would say it will look plain and boring without these bands.

the 6+S...now that just sounds terrible. I am thinking they may do some different naming.

Loving my 6 Plus as well. For the "is it too big?" crowd...after 4 days using it you get used to the size and wonder how you ever lived with your 5 or 5s less than a week ago.

That said, the 6 is pretty awesome too and a great compromise between the 5/5s and 6 Plus. People have wanted screen size options on the iPhone for years. Now we have it and it's great.

now for iPhone 6s… or 7

I got my 6 on launch day. loving it…
but from reading all the comments about 720 is right 1080 is right for plus, etc…

I wonder what people is gonna say when Apple puts 1080p on next iPhone 7 and 2k or even 4k on 7 plus…

I never missed a version of iPhone from the first iPhone launch, and own many other apple products… but Its just so funny that these apple fanboyz making excuses for stuff they don't know about.. XD

I think it was the iPhone 4 AD that I made comment about years ago… AD was about iPhone being perfect size for your hand… and I asked… what are they gonna say when the iPhone gets bigger?? your hands grew, so iPhone is bigger for you? I still got the 4 on launch day, but yeah...

Soo

The display isn't as good overall as the Note 4.

Four pages of comments, and this point is conveniently ignored.

Selective reading at it's best.

I know right. Sometimes these tiny details that some people find ugly can become quite pleasing in some other people's eyes. Like on the iP4, I always loved that single antenna band on the top next to the headphone jack. I actually liked it better than the all symmetric look of the later models. :) It kinda was the trademark of the iPhone 4.

Still not the best screen overall. At least now we have a 3rd party reference for who has the best display. It's these guys jobs to test out what is the best screen out there. Honestly they should just say that OLED screens are the best and the Galaxy Note 4 has the best screen.
