Thanks I feel a tad better. Does the side of your phone move downwards where the glass meets the backing? I think that most of these phones are loose in one area

I didn't notice that. Just the little bit of noise if you squeeze the middle. My home button has some play though. The wiggle is annoying. Trying to convince myself it's not a big deal since the screen is good.

My iPhone 6 I bought Wednesday has the same issue in the same exact spot. It doesn't seem to be bent, and I haven't actually put it in any pockets yet. I have an appointment today at the Apple Store to have it replaced.

Just an update, had no issues getting a replacement today (other than the store being way too crowded). The new one is perfect, no backlight issues, no display separation.

I think the 6S' chassis will be slightly heavier due to more robust internal reinforcing.

I am not sure about that. I've seen the pictures of the internals, and despite Cook's claims, there doesn't seem to be any robust reinforcing in the internals. I'm sure there is some reinforcement but it doesn't look like anything major to me. In fact, I am hard pressed to see any reinforcing at all. Although I am no engineer so I could certainly be wrong.

I said 6S, which I doubt you have seen photos of.

When I first unboxed my 6Plus I thought there was this issue with my screen. But there's no clicking and upon examining it really closely I think it's just the curved display merely fooling my eye. That's not to say the same is going on with other people's phones. I just think if the effect is very subtle, there's probably nothing to worry about. I'm keeping mine as it is covered by warranty and by AT&T Insurance which does cover dropping.

So, after seeing all this Internets stuff about being bending phones, I thought I'd have a look see at my device. Not bent! Whew! However, as I inspected it, imagine my surprise when I discovered that the display was separating upwards out of the metal case. Just below the volume buttons, there is a noticeable gap that I can press hard to close and that Springs back up to prominence when released. Sigh. Genius bar appointment tomorrow. Good thing I was already planning to go to the Apple store tomorrow to get two iPhone 6's for my parents. Anyone else seen this? I don't have another camera handy to photograph it with.
You are not alone. I have EXACTLY the same problem on my iPhone 6 Plus. I just discovered it yesterday. It appears that if anything is warped that it is the glass/circuit board and not the metal backing. The phone works fine, there is nothing visibly wrong with any part of the phone other than the left side separation. I have not spoken with Apple yet. Please let me know what you find out.
