I doubt it's really going to be a big issue - you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference even with them side by side.

The 5/5s was only quoted as 800:1, so it'll be a big upgrade no matter what.

I agree. Even side by side not likely to be meaningful. And as you point out, still a pretty big improvement over the 5 and 5S.

Yeah, 99.99999% of the buyers won't care because they will not have both phones side by side to compare anyways.

As for the screen contrast ratio, I'm not sure why they made the two models different. Any ideas that come to mind why they would?

The displays are different because of the pixel density and the backlight power needed to get through. I'm sure it was a compromise they had to make but like everyone is saying, the difference between 1300 and 1400 is going to be so tiny no one will care.

watching family feud on GSN. What is everyone else doing to pass the time?

What do I do to pass the time? Well, I can think of a few things...

- Having a life
- Being a productive member of society
- Raising my kids so they, too, have lives and become good people.

But Its Still Higher than the 5s

That satisfied me. I remember going from the 3GS to the 4. Such a huge difference between the two that as long as we're not taking steps backwards, I'm happy. It may not be the Note 3, but in my opinion display quality has gotten high enough that the possibly-noticeable difference the 6+ will have vs the 6 is a tradeoff I'm more-than-willing to make.

Yep, this is the same thing. People are crazy!

No, iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina had a HUGE difference. The Mini Retina's colors are way duller than the iPad Air's colors. I don't think this difference will be as great, though.

My point being you wouldn't know if they were not sitting right next to each other.

It's very noticeable when they are side by side. Every single display phone at the Apple store showed cleaner whiter whites on the 6 and dimmer/grayer whites on the Plus.

It was instantly noticeable on all phones.

Lmao
Don't forget the "happier" blues.

The thing they should report is checker board Contrast Ratio.....but they never will :D

I didn't notice that but then again I wasnt looking for it. I was checking for text crispness, which seemed better on the Plus. But then again it was crowded and hectic that day. I'm going back another time when the craziness has died down somewhat. I'm sure I have plenty of time to check the phones out again and possibly change my mind before my AT&T preorder even thinks of arriving.

I was scrolling through the tech specs page and noticed that the 6 Plus has a lower contrast ration compared to the 6.

And to think I've made up my mind

"iPhone 6 Plus: Based on our extensive Lab tests and measurements, the iPhone 6 Plus is the Best performing Smartphone LCD display that we have ever tested."

To add to your indecision.
