OP...do you have an iPhone 6 to compare it to *constantly*? If not, your thread is useless.

I compare, and the 6+ is no different then my 6. Your thread title is deceiving (probably because the 6+ is all you have), making it sound like there's a 6+ issue. They are both fine

I have a 5S, 6, and 6+ and the 6+ is way more laggy than the 6. And the 6 is even more laggy than my 5S. Of course I wasn't one of the foolish ones to upgrade to iOS 8. Still on 7.1.2 on the 5S.

Not exactly foolish to be on iOS 8. That said, I agree that iOS 8 has more lag on the 6 Plus. My older 5S doesn't seem to have much issue on iOS 8, and the wife's 6 is fine. The 6 Plus needs some optimizations, but then so does pretty much every app for it as well!

The Plus really reminds me of the iPad 3. They raise the resolution without improving the GPU enough. Was thinking of switching but I think I'm sticking with my buttery smooth 6, thanks lol

You're not alone. The iPhone 6+ has MAJOR lag, especially with animations. Most fools on here will say otherwise because they're fanboys. Rest assured, its not only your device.

Major?

No. Major is a Samsung touch wiz phone.

I also have a 6 and 6 plus. Some animations are hanky. That's it. Not actual lag persay. I see this being fixed in an update.

I have zero lag on mine, not even the small amount ppl reported on here.

1. No 3rd party keyboards installed.
2. Set up as new device.

+1. I await the lag videos, meanwhile I will just keep rocking this bad boy!

I checked out the Note 4 and it was in demo mode so may be why but folks should just take a look at that and they will understand why I appreciate the Plus more when lag is brought to the table.

I didnt notice much lag if any when I had a note 3, in fact was one of the only samsung devices where that was the case, the note 4 has a 805 snapdragon soc so I expected even better performance. You're saying it was laggy?

Where did you find a note 4 at to try out?

Best Buy. Just cycled through apps that were opened and then when closing some it was surely noticeable. It was not terrible but when folks are complaining about the Plus maybe they should look at the Note 4. Again, it was a demo unit but easily noticeable.

I was just by a best buy! I didn't think they had note 4 demo units out yet I wish I went in to try one!

One thing I've noticed with android though, closing and opening apps often seems like lag because there isn't a animation between them, the animation on ios is put in place whilst the apple is loading so it looks smoother. Or at least that was my impression.

Hmmmm. My 6 has been buttery smooth. Way better than my 5S on YouTube, etc.

Must be a 6 Plus thing:eek:

It isn't like folks are running to return them, is it? :)

Guess I'm glad I got one that doesn't lag though I guess the odds were pretty good since most haven't returned theirs because of that. ;)

Reading through your posts I don't think you'd criticize an iPhone if you caught it in bed with your woman.

OP, can you define what you mean by lag?

I've seen lag on some devices where the reaction to user input by the OS lags behind. Like scrolling a long list quickly and the UI lags behind your finger by a good inch or so. I don't see that with anything native on my 6+.

I've also seen people describe lag (less accurately IMO) as dropping frames while rendering the UI. It's not everywhere, but I see this often enough on my 6+. At times it is a stuttering mess. Typically when rotating with more than one thing on the screen at a time (keyboard, spotlight, etc). Is this what you see with your 6?

WTH are you people doing to your phones to get lag? Only time I notice is on first startup after I restart the phone. Other than that she's smooth as silk.

This is just based off playing with it in the store. The only lag i saw was the NC and Control center. That's all, im sure it will be fixed as ios7 had similar issues on iphone 5S and Ipad air. It was fixed in 7.1

I don't care what your brother says, yet alone you. The device has lag. I know exactly what the OP is talking about. Most of its due to the processor pushing 2X the pixels as the regular 6.

Just because your brother finds it "solid for the most part" doesn't make it ok for everyone. Many people, myself included have noticed the lag, and its anything but minimal.

And whatever LAG you experience is merely software , because the GX6450 in the 6 and 6 Plus are more then capable of running the UI and phone at very smooth, responsive frame rate.

Not everyone is experiencing the same exact lag in the same ways like you buddy, for some it's worse, and for some it's not as bad

The stutters and lag the 6 Plus experiences is from the desktop class scaler chip inside the phone, downscaling from resolutions higher then 1080p, to the 6 Plus's resolution(1080p),this is most likely what is causing the lag people experience. Just seems like the software is not optimized enough because the GX6450 is more then capable of running at 1080p resolutions and a bit higher smoothly and responsiveness.

I dunno. I haven't been paying attention but I would notice such a thing because I am really into smoothness of OS and it would bother me.

Anyway, this thread is useless if every person who posts about lag doesn't specify if they have a 3rd party keyboard installed.

The keyboards made it sloppy for now.

But my phone is really clean, like I said new install, mostly default apps and no songs, pics or vids yet.

I've only noticed lag when installing a bunch of apps or doing a mass app update. OTher than that the device has been pretty smooth. There is a hiccup here and there but I wouldn't call it 'massive'.

Ive had my phone since Monday and at first I did have a bunch of lag during animations. It would be choppy when going to the multitask menu and was choppy changing apps.

It isn't choppy anymore though. Maybe the OS needs to optimize for the phone? I don't know but there isn't any lag anymore.

I spent 10 days with 6 and have now spent 2 days with the 6+ and although I am waiting to put the + through more usage scenarios, I have yet to see a difference in performance between the two phones.
