just like me. been using the 6 since launch. a 6+ since last Friday. The 6 is going back tomorrow to apple store. I even had bought applecare+ for the 6. Tomorrow ill swap it to the 6+

Glad you were able to get hold of the Plus. I would have never known just trying it in an Apple Store that it is the one I prefer for everyday use with the things I do.

It isn't like we are going over to the dark side, it is still an iPhone. :)

I imagine this happens to most people who had the 6+ and then went to the iPhone 6. Most probably won't admit it though because they are trying to justify it in their mind.

Happened to me. I was "this" close to trading in my Plus for a 6. Ended up just purchasing the 6 outright. Used it for one day then realized how much I enjoyed the Plus. Now it's been around 10 days with the Plus and I am completely used to the size and could not imagine using a smaller device.

Gotta love the 4.7" iPhone 6 owners. They seem threatened when 6 Plus users are satisfied.

Agreed but its too big for me. The phone is just too big, and using it almost a week didn't change. I stopped caring about the cool PPI and battery life because it was way too big especially with a case on. Just my opinion.

It most certainly is, just YOUR opinion.

I doubt you even see the humor in this.

LOL! Some of you make me laugh with your attempt at FUD , buyer justification / remorse and nonsense.

The 6+ is a larger phone , yes its a phablet - but of some of you to then dismiss the 6 saying nonsense like it feels too small! What?! the 6 has a 4.7inch screen - how is that ever small let alone "too small" - sure the 6+ is bigger but that doesn't make the 6 small or Tiny at all.
Furthermore all this , the 6+ feels like a true upgrade and the 6 a normal annual iPhone revision. WTF?! What does the 6+ do over the 6 that is so outstanding? Optimal image stabilisation?! That a wizz-bang feature now?! Or is it the contact photos when you flip the phone into landscape mode in the messages app?

Honestly. Some of the nonsense...

So I ordered the 6 Plus. Loved it from the minute I held it. But I wasn't quite sure if I made the right choice. So I began listening to the "it's too big" crowd. So I tried to see if I could find a 6. Found one and activated it. At first I was satisfied because of the size. But within 24 hours I knew I made a mistake. In the end I missed the big screen. All the slight negatives I had with the 6 Plus were worth the size. I'm glad I got the 6. It made me realize how much I loved the 5.5 inch iPhone. In the end it is an individual preference but having a large screen at your fingertips is worth any hassle it brings.

Good grief, I'd hate to see what you go through to get dressed in the morning.

Well I responded earlier and I ended up returning the 6 plus. I'm in college and found that it was difficult lugging the 6+ around. I'm tropically wearing suits or jeans and it was just too big for the pockets. Good luck!

I'm actually currently trying to swap out my 6 for the 6+. Just a matter of finding the plus in stock somewhere, lol.

I'm upset that I had to give up the 6+ but it was just too difficult for me to handle. I always use an Otterbox on my phones and that would have made a massive phone even larger.

If I wasn't walking about 5 miles a day and always in and out of meetings I'd probably still have the 6+ but with my life I need to be able I check my phone quick while I'm on the go. Good luck!!

I purchased a 6 last sunday, really liked it, but almost immediately was thinking I should've gone with a Plus.
Coming from a 5, the 6 was already an adjustment. Once I got used to it I couldnt stop thinking about how the plus isnt that much larger than the 6.
I lucked out on getting a 6 plus on tuesday and having had it for 48 hours I'm hooked.
yeah, it's an adjustment and i'm not likely to use it one handed as i've used other phones in the past....
Thing is, all those instances in which i was using my phone with one hand were all the times I probably shouldn't have been on my phone. you know, driving, walking, basically any time I was on the go. all those times you should pay attention to where you're going and let the text, etc just wait.

That said, the plus is amazing. It feels great in my hand and the screen and battery make it totally worth it.

I also had a 6+, sold it and got a 6, and now im going to get a 6+ again, mostly because of my new job, although there was something left to be desired.

Got my 6 today (tried to cancel but it shipped, so had to wait for it to get here), but I'll be returning and going with the Space Grey 6 Plus. Joined the pre-order line with a date of Oct 30-Nov 6, same as my dad. It's a while to wait, but if I'm going to be using a device for 1-2 years, may as well get the color/version I'd be most satisfied with.

the wait continues......

It really comes down to a lifestyle choice. Since I use a horizontal holster case, the size has never been the biggest issue. Actually an iPhone 6 would be too tall for some of my jean pockets.

6 Plus offers a good balance for people who don't want to carry a phone and their tablet/iPad mini around. It is a shame it didn't get 2 GB RAM and got the slightly overblown Bendgate issues. But OIS, FULL HD resolution on a 0.8 inch bigger display, and longer battery life can all make up for it.

I see people post their iPhone 6 battery test and think it is great. Well according to like three review sites (PhoneArena, GSMArena, Anandtech), if you think iPhone 6 is great then the iPhone 6 Plus is GREATER. Nice to have 20-30% longer battery with better SCREEN OFF USAGE like 3G talk time, music playing, and overall standby times.

the ultimate "if you dont stand for something, you'll fall for anything"...

life is about making choices, living with it and not looking back...

otherwise you'll never get anywhere, with anything...

I ordered a 6+ on 9/12 and it wasn't going to be delivered until the end of this week, so on 9/20 I picked up an extra iPhone 6 off contract at the Apple store, and have been using it while I wait for the 6+ to arrive. I did that because my daughter broke her 4s and she needed to take my old 5s.

My 6+ might be here tomorrow (UPS still says 10/2 delivery, which they missed), and I suspect that I'll be keeping both phones and alternating between them. The 6 is an ideal size for a phone, although still not ideal for web browsing when using 52 year old eyes.

At the store the 6+ is much better for full size web pages; but the 6 is much easier for me to use one-handed for phone calls, camera, messaging, email and other frequent tasks like my 5s was. While "Reachability" is a lifesaver on the 6+ it's not a final solution for me to use it one handed. We need a way to "grab, hold, and drag" the screen down, rather than double tapping on the home button. I get credit for that if Apple incorporates it.

The other problem is that most HTML formatted emails still require me to turn the iPhone 6 sideways to read the text and the text is often still too small. It sucks that the iPhone's larger text setting still doesn't affect HTML emails or web pages in Safari. I don't like zoomed mode on the 6 which makes everything big instead of just the few items of text that I want enlarged.

That means those of us with old eyes need more control over text size and word wrap in Safari, period. Since we can't, because Apple hasn't given us the CMD+ feature that we have on the Mac in Safari, that's where the 6+ larger screen comes in. My iPad mini retina is huge vs the 6 or 6+ and I'm hoping the 6+ might be able to replace the iPad, since it's much easier to pack along.

There are other reasons for my wanting the 6+, namely the larger battery so I can really use it hard all day like an iPad, and the optical image stabilization. So, I'll get the 6+ in a day or so, and play with it for 7-14 days, but I doubt I'll be able to convince myself to return it. Friday 10/3 is my last day to return the 6, and I don't think that I can bring myself to do that either.

I've only had my Plus for a day, so I'm not making up my mind yet. But I do find that the weight is actually a bigger issue than the size for me. My hands are big enough that I find myself wanting to one-hand it, but the weight is a bit too much for this to be comfortable for very long. My wife's 6 seems like the ideal size and weight, but of course it may be a "grass is greener" kind of situation. Just to check, there's no fee or anything if I decided to return mine to an Apple Store and get the regular 6? (Assuming it's within the 14 day return period.)

I need some opinions. I preordered a gold 6 64GB and received it, but have been tempted by the plus. I finally snatched one for full price from an Apple Store nearby. Let's just say it was a hefty price to pay as I used my upgrade for the 6. I'm kind of torn on what I should which includes the following ideas:

1. Return the 6 and let my upgrade eligibility return and then order a 6+ from Apple using my upgrade pricing and wait however long it takes to get a 6+ from Apple.

2. Keep the 6, as the return deadline is tomorrow, and sell it for around full retail price and counter the costs of the off contract 6+.

I also have my 5s to sell and I'm selling my iPad mini bc after using a 6+ I am okay with giving it up based on my usage habits. I would prefer to return both phones and order using my Verizon upgrade pricing, but it looks like if I order it from the Apple Store I will be waiting quite a long time.

Key point: I am on Verizon unlimited and if I upgrade and pick up in store I'll lose it. If I upgrade and have it shipped to me then I can just insert my current sim and not lose my unlimited plan. That is what is causing me to ask what you guys might do in this scenario. As always, thanks for the advice.

If people think about, switching from 4s to 6 is just as big in dimensions than going from 6 to 6 Plus.

iPhone 4s - 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm

iPhone 5s - 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm

iPhone 6 - 138.1 x 67 x 6.9 mm

iPhone 6 Plus - 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm

If you had gotten used to using iPhone 6 dimensions for awhile now, going from 6 to 6 Plus wouldn't be that huge of a difference except in height.

Apple really needs to trim those top and bottom bezels once iPhone 7 Plus gets released in 2016. I think the naysayers of the 6 Plus are the same folks who didn't believe "Hummer" phones like the first gen Galaxy Note would ever succeed. Well, they are wrong. The iPhone 6 is probably outselling the 6 Plus up to 10 to 1? But I feel because the phablet growth in the US is still slow to accept the current trends that is happening in Asia.

I had a 6 for 2 weeks, nice phone but not much different than my 5S, sent it back had a yellow screen and got a plus locally. Much nicer phone, great screen.
All I need is Apple to fix their Bluetooth problem. Bigger problem than bendgate:mad:

My two cents...
If you really like the 6+, then go for it. How you get there is the hard part...
Due to your unlimited plan, I'd do what I can to save it as in the long run, it can save you money depending on how much data you burn through. And with these newer phones that have higher def and faster connectivity, you may use more data. Bite the bullet and sell your old and used items to offset the cost of the 6+

720p vs 1080p, way better battery, OIS vs no OIS, and added function to take advantage of larger screen. The i6p is the flagship this year. The spec difference and not the screen size is way I chose the flagship phone this year and every year.
The difference between the two is so slight though, but if the word 'flagship' is important to some, I can live with that. The 6 is hardly a budget device and to me the trade off was the size. The Plus was too big for my needs so the spec is irrelevant for me. I think an iPhone is an iPhone and nobody really looks down on you because you have a slightly smaller model, at least I would hope they wouldn't because that is rather sad.

In the end it is an individual preference

Wow.... so profound..

Seems to me like you need a bit of maturing if "other people" can influence your decisions so easily.

Good grief, I'd hate to see what you go through to get dressed in the morning.
I know right.... sad that one can't make simple decisions without others influencing them so much. I'm in a Nazi Germany class as we speak and I now see how it was so easy for Hitler to win over so many people.... It's because of people like OP.... following what others say rather than what's in their heart/head.

What case were you using that made it too big "especially" with the case? For me, 6'2.5" with rather large hand it did take some getting used to after using the 5s..... not long though.

The 5S over the 5 was a minor upgrade and everyone here bought the 5S lol.
I always love when people say the 5s was a minor upgrade over the 5.... it was only one of the largest jumps in actual tech when compared to other iPhone models but hey... don't let actual facts get in the way of saying it.

Same here got the 6+ then I checked out my friends iPhone 6 man it was not that much bigger than my iPhone 5S, nothing was special about it, just another iPhone, but the 6+ feels like a whole new iPhone...glad I'm keeping the 6+

Hehe I held a coworkers iPhone 6 today and felt similarly, it was really nice but I'm glad I got a 6+ :)

Pretty sure they both were simply being semi-sarcastic ;)

Too bad there isn't a sarcasm font used here on MacRumors.

Yeah you have to rely on the ready being "smart" enough to pick up on the sarcasm.... that is if the writer is actually using quality sarcasm. One of my favs is this littel ditty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgvyparsP0c

In the end it's totally a preference. I love this screen. That is all. Good day sir. I said good day!!!

Dude..... you just did Wonka all wrong..... :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0Rjn6W9jYk

Used the plus for 2 hours and then returned it for a 6. The plus is a great couch phone but out it the wild its a nuisance. It's huge and too big for a pocket. I see people carrying them and it looks silly. Love the 6 and have zero regrets about the return. If the plus was the one and only new iPhone for the year I would get the new moto x. Apple made a mistake like the 5c and I think sales and issues such as bendgate will make the plus a one year wonder just like the 5c.

I agree only about the possibility of the one hit wonder for the 6+ (which I have and mostly love though yes it was a tiny bit overkill with its height) however my theory is that by the time the new and notably improved version comes out, my contract will be up again or close to - so I might as well enjoy the size (theoretically - as I'm still testing this baby out) until that time comes to renew contract.

You're entire point is that it makes others look silly. Other than that it's just self serving FUD. I say grow up, stop worrying what others think and get what you want and to me... it sounds like you WANT the plus but are too worried about what others think. As far as the "mistake" apple made what exactly is that? Bendgate? LoL yeah the same pictures plastered all over the net from people FORCING the phone to bend.... yeah apple is laughing about their mistake all the way to the bank. Do you actually believe the stuff you write or are you just trying to stir up stuff? Guess you missed the article that said the 5c was the number one selling phone in Europe.

I agree only about the possibility of the one hit wonder for the 6+
Yeah a mistake they can't keep in stock and people are paying out the nose for on the grey market... yeah what a mistake!!! You and thegrants82 live in the same fantasy land I see.

The 6 plus is much to big to carry in the pocket, the size of the display is amazing but is not comfortable to have all day long .
What size pants are you wearing that you can't easily fit the plus in your pocket?

If you worked hard and earned enough to pay for these devices, I would expect that your mind is clear enough not to let other's opinion deceive your own.
This thread just proved you are one paranoid individual, you are the friend everyone likes to keep in a friend circle in order to make fun of; Get out of the circle.

EXACTLY this.
