You guys are so negative.

Just trying to be realistic. Those of us who think that there will be just a few of the Plus available at launch could very well be worrying over nothing, but like I said in another thread, I'de rather be the guy who waits in line all night only to find out I could have gotten there later and gotten the Plus I wanted than be the guy who has 200 people ahead of him only to see the first 50 people get a Plus.

For me, It's worth it. Besides, I have fun doing it.

Even if they have 100 or 200 per store, it won't matter. Most people standing in line are going for the Plus because of the short supply and the fact they missed out on the preorder. There will be plenty of the 6 models, so one doesn't need to stand in line to get it. Just walk in during the day.

On the other hand, someone waiting 18hrs in line for a 6+ may not want to go home empty handed and might clear out the 6's.

On preorder day (9/12) at 11 AM (7 hours after preorders went live), iPhone 6 Plus was showing 3-4 week delivery for shipping but it was available for in-store pickup on 9/19 in a few stores in my area (and beyond).

As of that afternoon, even that sold out - but the fact remains, in-store pickup was available until noon on preorder day, so the phone wasn't so hot it "suddenly magically disappeared as soon as pre-orders went live."

I called Apple and the gentelman I spoke with offered to do an inventory check for all of the Dallas Fort Worth Area (There are at least 7 stores in our area, probably more) and he said that there are NO 6+ phones that will be available in the DFW area!!!!!!! I hope he is wrong becasue I know several people that are going to start lining up on Thursday for a 6+.

Last year the 5S space gray models 16GB AT&T were available all day BUT the whites and golds were sold out within the first 100 people at my local Apple store; I expect a similar situation with the 6+.

AT&T used to divide their units between online and retail store (like 5 per store lol) but since last year have been online only. A few other retailers like BestBuy will most likely get a few in each tho.

Overall I predict 6+ will be very hard to find until atleast mid October.

My store had one gold.

I believe it.

I call BS on this. Either you're pulling our leg or the Apple rep was pulling yours. Even if he DID have that kind of inventory access, I doubt he's free to share such information.

Yes, they will eventually start running out of certain models by late morning or early afternoon, but no, they will not have 10-20 of something.

Funny, that's exactly what happened with the Silver and Gold 5Ss last year. Though I was ~50 in line, I went home empty handed.

The hype is divided between 2 phones. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+. realistically more people will buy the iPhone 6 but also iPhone 6+ will be produced less, so statistically the demand for both will be equally high based on production and demand.

If you are standing at number 10 and you have guys or gals who would never buy a 5.5 inch phone you might be the first one to want a iphone 6+

combine that with the fact that the iPhone 6+ is also more expensive with the base model starting at 16 GB, the 2nd tier at 399 which is $200 more than the traditional iPhone model which people buy in higher abundance of.

People going for an Iphone 6+ 64 GB have a higher chance even if they stand at number 50 in the line because most likely they will be the 10th person to want it.

I take it you didn't camp out at the Apple Store last year. The anticipation, the feeling of being in line and everyone wanting that rarer model pushes people to buy it. I'd be surprised if the first 50 or 100 people all DIDN'T get the 6+.

I think there is difference between color and size. one is a look behind what might end up being a case and one is something that is too big for them. there is a difference.

I wouldn't trust too much of what people say. Last year I was first in line at my Sprint store for the 5S (got there at 1am) and at 8am an employee comes out of the sprint store to tell everyone that they got no gold iphones. I was very upset as of course that is the phone I wanted. So i came out empty handed. Not really saying the plus will be the same but I have a feeling some people will be upset Friday. This year i just preordered a regular 6 gold for ATT and will have it shipped to my house.

I know people desperately want to cling on to hope that they'll get a Plus on Friday, but as fast as it sold out there is no way there is going to be an abundant supply.

I think it'll be like past launches where a certain number of Plus's will trickle into the Apple Store every day or two for the next month. If you really want one, you probably have a good shot if your patient and show up every day (or check the incoming inventory the day before). The lines will be a lot shorter and the buzz will have died down a bit.

I'm not pulling your leg...that would be an evil thing to do. I hope you are right in that the gentelman I spoke with was wrong.

The gold was a COLOR. The 6 + is a completely different model. What is harder to mass produce?

Clearly there are constrained supplies of the +, just look at pre-orders and delivery times. Apple would sell everyone they could for launch delivery, but dates started slipping within SECONDS. Why does this matter? Because they allocate beforehand for in-store launch day sales too, and this means they either went really short on pre-orders leaving a lot for in-store, or they had next to none to allocate for either.

They proved last year they didn't make in-store sales a preference in allocation. If you weren't one of the first 5 in line, you didn't get gold.

That was also on a phone where pre-orders were NOT for launch day delivery. These ones are (some of them).

If you aren't in the first 10 people of an Apple store line, don't expect to get a Plus. Mark my post.

:D

Last year my Att store had plenty of everything, only a few gold though. My sister bought white at 6pm.

I worked for an Apple Retail store for 2 years. On launch day last year we only received about 20 gold iPhone 5s due to short supply.

That being said, with the Plus shipping dates slipping to 7-10 before Apple's site even came back up, I'd imagine stock will be very limited at the stores.

I just talked to a friend who works at the Apple Store. She said basically the exact same thing. :( :( :(

As employees they used to allow us dibs on the stock to get a phone for ourselves first before the general public and this year employees aren't even allowed to purchase a Plus if that tells you anything.

If I am looking to get an unsubsidized Verizon 64GB 6 Plus, I will need to go to a VZW store correct? I want to say that at least Apple.com does not sell those, but can't remember about the Apple Store.

I do not need it on Friday so I am willing to wait, just wondering the best place to try.
