But seriously though apple should choose a better time for preorders like noon pacific time or something. Its not fair for us on the eastcoast!

Their servers would get absolutely smashed if they did it at that time.

WHY is it not fair to the East Coast. Thought you guys stayed up later.:)

Actually it doesn't matter where you live. The SERVERS do. So us Westies also have to sign on at midnight. All pre-orders in the US are only allowed access at midnight. So you'll be tucked in at 3AM and we'll just start getting access to pre-order.

I like your idea better, letting us on at 9PM.

Since I want to NOT look a bit ridiculous standing in line, I'm getting my 64 GB iPhone 6 (4.7") from the local T-Mobile USA store. :)

My color choice: Space Grey first, then White second. I may be able to score a major deal because I am trading in my old Samsung Galaxy S III (bless its heart--it was a nice phone for its time) for this new phone.

Multiple purchases

I'm planning to order 2 total (1x iPhone 6 for me, 1x iPhone 6 Plus for my mother) from the online Apple Store... can I place one order for both at the same time, or do I have to do two separate online purchases?

Reading how in past years, these pre-orders sell out within minutes - mother of god......

I'd like to know as well. I plan to order for me and my spouse.

Damn I ordered 2 iPhone 5's 2 years ago and for the life of me I can't remember how I did it  and I am racking my brain trying to remember because I am buying 2 again tonight

Since this is my first time pre-ordering (usually I would pick up in store) can someone help me out. . .

I won't be able to Pre-order until Saturday night, has anyone ever pre-ordered after the first day and how far back will my order be behind (compared to whoever can answer from previous experience/knowledge)?

I was noticing that on my iPad (Apple Store App, just updated) that T-Mobile isn't listed as a choice for the 6, but on the web browser store front they have it listed.

Seems much more confusing as to whether the T-Mobile 6's from Apple will be locked or not (with the implication is that they won't be unlocked this year).

That didn't seem to be a question last year (they'd be unlocked), but Apple is actively telling people they'll be locked on T-Mobile for the 6 today.

It'll be weeks (a month) later possibly (if the 5s is any guide). The thing is, it all depends on how production is going and it seems like the 6 isn't having the issues that the 5s did….so it might not be so bad. For the 5s I think for the folks that missed the early pre-orders, it was better if they just waited (not pre-ordered) and found out who (carrier, Best Buy etc.) had the phones and where and purchased it directly after release (except for the gold which was impossible to get last year).

I always thought. And you can debate which carrier should be able to order first. But that Apple should stagger the times based on carrier. Like ATT at 12, Verizon at 1, And Sprint and Tmobile begin ordering at 2. That way as too not have everyone doing it same time. Course like i said, there would be a debate about which carrier should order first. But at least this way you would know that the servers would not get as slammed as if you allow all carriers to start placing orders at the same time.

I was going to buy the iPhone 6 but decided not to when I found out it does not have LTE band 12 for T-Mobile.

Going to buy Moto X (2nd Gen) instead. This has LTE band 12.

Stupid move on Apple's part to not include LTE band 12. They lose tons of purchases from this omission. There are whole wireless companies that have no LTE without band 12.

Your best bet is to go to the store next weekend. In big cities like New York or Chicago the stores will get shipments during the day. I got lucky at Grand Central in NY in 2012 and Lincoln Park in Chicago last year. Apple generally doesn't reserve many phones for the pre-order. With 2 new models they are playing a guessing game. They didn't attempt pre-orders of the 5s last year but admitted they got the mix wrong between the 5s and 5c. This year it's even worse since they have no idea at all how many prefer the 6 vs the 6 plus.

When I did this 4 years ago with the 4 I had to do 2 separate transactions and I ended up missing the second transaction on the first round of preorders and my wife got her phone 3 days after I got mine. Going to the Apple store today and starting an order for a 5S just as a test, it looks like once again I will have to do 2 transactions. If someone knows different please chime in.

Um, what? Preorders start at 12:01 PDT (midnight west coast time). That's 3:01 EDT (three am east coast time). It opens simultaneously for everyone everywhere worldwide where ordering is allowed. (8:01 am in the UK, etc.)

To be fair, Apple probably isn't worried about LTE coverage in Guam. Band 12 isn't that common, and they buy their chips from Qualcomm like everyone else.

So I don't get this activated T-Mobile sim rule. I will be in the US in Oct to get my iphones. Will these be unlocked by default or whats the procedure to getting them unlocked?

40 days with a throwaway sim card plan?

The 5s and 5c also don't have band 12 and I don't think its been an issue for anyone. What am I missing?
