what would these be subsidized?

subtract $450 from all the prices. Makes then 200, 300, and 400.

What he said.

That being said, I can see the 4.7 going for $199 and the 5.5 for $299. Ofcourse that's for the smallest capacity.

exactly. I see them maintaining their current price structure for the 4.7 and adding 100(or 150) for the 5.5. Seems like a logical approach for apple. I do hope, however, that they have 32, 64, and 128 options to replace the current 16, 32, 64 options. Now a days, 16 is not enough for most people, even with a reliance on cloud storage. iOS, as it becomes more sophisticated, will keep on taking more and more space.

They should also maintain the current aspect ratios with the 5 series...makes it easier for developers to change(something mentioned in the iphone 5 keynote iirc)

Leaks of iPhone 6 prices!

As usual, apple has introduced a big increase of the iPhone prices with the new redesign.

http://www.redusers.com/noticias/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/iphone6-650x450.jpeg

Converting yens to dollars we can get an approximated cypher.....

iPhone 6 4.7" will cost USD 859 for 16 GB, USD 989 for 32 GB y USD 1.119 for 64 GB. (We are talking about a +210 USD increase!!!)
iPhone 6 de 5.5 will cost USD 1.022 for 16 GB, USD 1.152 for 32 GB y USD 1.249 for 64 GB.

What do you think guys? I think it's not good at all, if it's true iPhone will cost more than 800€, maybe it'll reach 900€ easily after taxes. these prices are BLOWED UP.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

What is totally clear is that iPhone 6 will be PRETTY MUCH EXPENSIVE than previous models...I'm so angry!!!!

4.7" prices run in line with current 5s prices however the inflated 5.5" price looks wrong

I think the most important thing to note though is that just running a price through a currency converter isn't really a good indication of what a price is going to be in someone your own country. For example, the same phone in Australia is $250 more expensive than it is in the US. Everywhere prices differently.

I don't think reacting to prices just yet is really going to achieve anything. Just wait it out. :) I don't PERSONALLY think the 4.7 prices are going to change from the current line up, but we'll see.

You can't directly concert these prices to dollars or euros. Japanese (and European) prices include all kinds of taxes, like sales tax.

If you really want to compare, these are the current iPhone 5S prices in yens.

16 GB: 67,800 Yen
32 GB: 77,800 Yen
64 GB: 87.800 Yen

So, as it appears, prices for the 4.7" model remain the same as they are now. 5.5" model is $100 more expensive, if this leak is correct.

Though, I highly doubt this leak is real. Anyone could have made that table. It also doesn't support the rumoured which say the 32 GB model is non-existent and lastly, there's no 128 GB model in that table (which is also rumoured).

iPhone4 suffered a price increasing from the 3/3G model, and iPhone5 suffered the same increase from the 4/4S... Why don't you think that we are in the same situation?

I just can't see them pricing ANY iPhone in the US >$1000 especially to most folks it seems like you can get an equivalent or even more feature rich (in their minds) Android phone for <$300.

Can they really believe that demand for iPhone is that inelastic?

Hasn't going from like 80% market share to like %10 given them any clue at all? (or whatever the actual numbers are, i don't recall off the top of my head)

Because IF they're releasing the two models, I doubt they'd put a price increase on both of them. That wouldn't be a good look. I'd imagine they'd keep one line with the current pricing and then have the bigger models at a slightly higher pricing model.

16 GB .... :mad::mad::mad:

also that jump in price from 16Gb to 32GB cant be right .... it costs them $9 and they charge you an additional $130 for it?

1.249$ would get u a MacBook Air + an iPad Mini jikes

I doubt about the existence of an iPhone 5.5" ready for a release.... I'm afraid about prices increasing... Hope all of you have reason

They had an 80% market share because their only competition were smartphones from the pre-iPhone era.

Apple still sells more iPhones each and every quarter than they did the same quarter a year earlier. As long as that's the case, they don't really worry.

They aren't going to decrease iPhone prices simply in the hope that their market share increases. If they do that, they take a huge risk that their profits and revenue decrease.

There won't be a 16GB model...

That strategy just about killed them in the 90s. That's when me and everybody else got sick of their bull they were pulling with their PowerBook line (they OWNED the laptop market in the 90s and then totally blew it) and jumped over to Windows. The same thing is causing the majority to pick Android now.

Tim is a bean counter and could care less about tech toys.

I watched Jobs at the iPhone unveiling yesterday on youtube.

He LOVED tech and loved playing with tech toys, just like we all do here.

The difference between Cook and Jobs is so freaking stark.

Jobs loved tech. Cook loves money and could care less about tech. Do you really think that guy plays with tech in his spare time. Hell no I used to live around there with those people and they like to hang out at wine parties and on their fancy boats and snoot about how freaking cool they all are and how silicon valley is just THE place to be. Love of money ends up making a tech company boring as fsck and TC is boring as fsck.

OP, you facts are flawed. No way Apple will be selling phones at these prices. Most likely that the 6 will be close to the price of the 5 or 5S.

There is more to this than just currency conversion.

Maybe if the 64GB one was actually the cost of the 128GB that might be 'reasonable'. I'd always admired Apple keeping the price of every new device the same cost. I predict the 4.7" will cost the same as the 5S, but the 5.5" will be at least $100 more expensive.

So now they have the cheaper 5C, the normal priced iPhone 6 4.7" and the more expensive iPhone 6 5.5".

Again, these leaks don't mean much, especially since converting prices doesn't mean a thing as iPhone's always cost different prices in different countries.

Apple charging $100 to double storage memory is the norm. Android makers charge approx $50 to double storage.

Depends, since for most you can just buy your own SD card.

Again, the only thing you can really add to a phone is storage or you'll just end up with a base line model and end up making no extra money.

I think at this stage, its probably better if we wait the 4 days to see what apple says about the price.

I do expect the larger iPhone to be pricier but how much more is the question.

Good lord there are some crazy people on here. As was brought up in the other thread, prices are ALWAYS higher in other countries. ALWAYS!!!
