I don't. I'm getting older and my eyes aren't getting any younger. I hope the icons scale. They should make it an option though so the younger lads like yourself can have more icons on one screen.

I would totally adopt the 5.7" I think.

I understand these are rumored designs, and I'm all for a bigger screen, but please PLEASE please make the icons smaller!! I want to be able to fit more apps on one screen

Moving the power button to the left makes no sense. Hold your phone with your thumb on the left, index finger on top, and other three fingers on the right. The index finger lies right where the power button is. Now try keeping your thumb and fingers in the same spot and pushing where the power button would be on the left. It's awkward at best and fairly uncomfortable.

As for the renders, they look decent enough. Kind of boring but not bad. I do like the rounded edges. Anything with a larger screen will get me in line the night before release and ensure I'm an Apple customer for 2 more years.

If the rumors are true and there's a 4.7" and 5.5" with the 5.5" to be released later some of us are going to have a tough decision. Buy the 4.7" or wait for the 5.5" that may never come (assuming they don't confirm both at the same time)...

Regardless of size, those designs look really nice. I wouldn't mind an even more curved back myself (ala 3GS). I have not liked the 4-5S designs at all (and I own a 5S). May have to consider a trade-up this time. :)

What ever you do Apple please do not move the lock button to the top left ... i will never get used to it.

People have been complaining non stop about the lock button being on the top of the HTC One since the 4.7 inch One. Now even more so on the new HTC One which is 5 inches and has the button on the top still. Most other phone makers opted to put it on the side when phones approached 5 inches and beyond.

I'd like a slightly larger screen but that looks very un-Apple.
Aesthetically the ugliest iPhone yet.
Not for me.

I'll keep my iPhone 5 and upgrade to a 5s if that's the final design.

Two sizes of iPhone are fine, but all the rumors are talking about two new increased sizes of iPhone.

One should be the old form factor, I want a new phone with a 3.5 inch screen.

2 sizes of iPad
4 sizes of iPod (if you count the classic)
2 sizes of Macbook Air
2 sizes of Macbook Pro
2 sizes of iMac
...why are people assuming that there can only ever be one size of iPhone? I'd be very surprised if they drop the 'classic' sized iPhone.

Anyway - other phablets like the Galaxy Note fit happily in a regular trouser or shirt pocket without making you look like a hillbilly or a hip-hopper.

Plus, with the bigger screen is much better for browsing full-size websites, reading maps, watching videos etc. you can leave the trendy metrosexual man-bag containing your iPad at home, won't need to have 2 devices on your wireless internet subscription and will also be spared the social-reputation-destroying ignominy of holding your iPad up to take a photo.

Design blandness

I"m sorry, it seems I'm a minority in this but this just looks like a boring ol' black smartphone. It's basically a Nexus 5 without the words Nexus on the back and a smaller protruding camera...

If I read the blueprint right, it's only 7mm thick. Love that! WOOHOOO!!! Hopefully this is accurate. I like. :D

How is that good? It just reduces space that could otherwise be taken up by a larger battery. You know how often I hear people complain about their phones being too thick? Almost never. You know how often I hear people complain about poor battery life? All the time.

I don't mind a simple (clean) looking iPhone. As a matter of fact I prefer it. If it's too plain for you I think you can still buy a Be Dazzle machine online.

Based on these renderings, I'd be pretty disappointed in the overall size increase to get to a 4.7" screen, still such waste space on the phone.

Unless you're the "white guy with no rythm" with "Skinny white girl butt jeans" you shouldn't have a problem. I'm guessing you get your clothes in the woman's section? Maybe wears daisy dukes? Possibly "tiny girl hands?"

Not even close. I completely get where this guy is coming from. 5" and 6" phones don't fit in totally normal pants (definitely not wearing skinny jeans). The iPhone 5 fits nicely in all of my pockets with a bit of extra room, for keys or change or my wallet depending what ends up in my pockets. But even with that phone in my front pocket it's still hard to sit down without it jamming into my hip. And don't even get me started on how ridiculous people look talking on those silly looking phablets.

I might deal with a 4.2" or 4.3" screen, but 4.7" or the 5.x" is just too big.

The fact Apple went from 3.5" to 4" was a great thing, but I don't want to carry a huge phone around. That's why I have my iPad mini, to use a device with a larger screen.

if they end up doing two screen sizes, then the phone better have the same hardware/software features. None of this 5c 5s crap differences. I don't want to be forced into a larger phone for the 'extra' stuff.

The renderings look like big iPods. That is the look for the iPods and Apple is going to want to keep the iPhone and iPod with distinctive looks. Your artist did a good job and is obviously talented but I think he/she should take another stab at a more unique look.

Mate... 4.7 is in no way a phablet. I'm sorry but 4" is just too bloody small. Especially when watching any type of content. I'm on the go a lot and cannot really carry around 2 separate devices so having an iPad mini along with my phone is just a no go. I want to be able to do every thing on my phone without having the squint to do it. 4.7 is just perfect.

The renderings appeal to me. However, my final decision will be based on how they feel in my hand when I go to my local Apple store.

Some of us aren't:

- women with giant $1000 suitcase purses
- farmers with that big front overalls pocket
- hip hoppers with pants 10 sizes too big
- kangaroos

Apple please make a phone I can fit in my normal sized 'white guy with no rhythm' pockets!

Unless you wear women's jeans, your point is moot.

People have different size hands. There is clearly a desire in the market for both. Apple need to make both. It's really that bloody simple.

It's not, and btw, the nexus is one of the best designed Android phones, and have had rave reviews.

If only Apple can release something this good at this price point...

It depends if Apple can trim the bezel down enough. The 5" Nexus is actually a pretty nice size because there isn't as much space above/below the screen. If they could match those proportions in a 4.7" I'd be pretty happy.

Get rid of the bezels! Move what you have to but give us that look and feel of a full faced screen

The 4.7" screen isn't going to be big enough leap to get my money. I prefer iOS but I have average size hands for a 6ft male adult and I could go bigger than the 5.0" 16:9 screen I have now. It's mainly the fact that with thinner/wider aspect ratios you lose actual screen area and the opposing dimension is too small. I'd rather they keep 4:3 at 5"
