Ugh. The 4" Screen on the 5 already sticks out of my pocket. The phone doesn't need to be any bigger. Everyone with big phones already looks like a ridiculous 80's banker, it doesn't need to get any worse.

Apple will NEVER launch a 5inch or bigger smartphone. That would be far too big to deliver the experience Apple wants to give its customers. Anyone expecting this is going to be disappointed when iPhone 6 launches to the world.

Although I disagree with the whole "phablet" line of phones, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple actually came out with something like this. Remember when Jobs said a small sized iPad was impractical? Now we find great uses for it.

Just saying Apple hasn't always stuck to what they've proclaimed. Times change.

My god, 5.5".

I still don't believe there will be two new sizes at once but whatever Apple decides to do we are certain the 6 will be (much) bigger than the current 5 series of iPhones. I for one am excited to see what's in store.

Time for Retina+ to be introduced.

It's been 4 years since Retina was introduced so it's definitely time for a higher resolution.
Why? Is the current display too pixellated for you?

I'd rather they focus on lowering power consumption, improving color fidelity, deepening the blacks, and improving touch responsiveness.

Including many Android owners who would love to buy an iPhone but want a larger screen.

I fully expect the larger screen size.

There is nothing in this article to suggest new information. It's a regurgitation of older rumors. Not sure this should even be on the front page…maybe the blog page.

MR is hard up for news/rumors these days.

In other news, Santa Claus will reportedly be visiting well behaved children 'As Early As December'.

I hope the smaller version cost more, so the complainers that DONT WANT A LARGER PHONE, can feel they got the more elite version and stop complaining about something they will NEVER buy..

You're speculating just like the others. No one outside Apple really knows what experience they want to give their customers. Please don't talk like you hold the absolute truth, it's just going to make you look bad if Apple does realease a 5"+ phone.

I'm not saying it'll necessarily happen, but we do have reasons to think it might happen.

Remember that guy on Weibo who leaked iOS 8 prototype screenshots? Mark Gurman's sources (which have been 100% reliable on 40+ rumors so far) confirmed they were real. That same guy on Weibo also claimed a >5" iPhone is in the works.

Yes please!!, will skip the 5s then.

I've played with 5" 1080p android, it was stunning. Apple need the hardware to match the android handset.

I would love a 5.5 inch Touch but it would eat into the iPad mini sales.

You will see the 4.6 inch in the Touch redesign this fall.

Actually, it's follow the money.

Catch it, my message was removed from the thread (or there was an sudden server "blaockout")...

For THE RECORDS:

I ESPECULATED:

4.7"=> NEW iPhone

5.5"=> NEW iTouch (AIMEDT AT GAMERS)

update: seems my message come back

5.5in? No way.

Even 5.5in may well seem pathetically small by September. I bet Samsung are already working on 6in+ phones. Its a screen-size arms race and Tim Cook knows that Apple need to catch up!

In fact, analysts predict that by 2016, ~80% of smartphone screens will possibly be bigger than the iPad is today.

Calling it now: iPhone 6 4.7-inch this September then iPhone 6s 5.5-inch next year.

If I work for Apple Marketing - I would release 4.7 6/6s in 2014 and then come back in 2015 with a 4.9/5.0 (guaranteed 2 big upgrade cycles)

The customer thing to do is to release 2 models 4.7 and 5.5 same high end specs and call it day

New Form Factor

To me, the whole iPhone form factor is getting old and outdated. Need something sexier with a few curves. Time to move on.

STOP with these same old ridiculous wide bezel laden renderings already!

We're getting a bigger iPhone. Deal with it. Accept it. It's the right decision.
