Apple will never give the customer a screen option (90% would be clueless anyway), or a battery option. Remember, Apple knows best! :apple:

No way worth it to me. Ever single iPhone I've used I have slapped on a screen protector since day 1. Will do the same for the i6. I have never scratched or cracked a screen on any of my iPhones.

100$ for a sapphire screen which is potentially more brittle? No way, Just get apple care if you are that nuts about scratches. At least with applecare its scratch proof, waterproof, crash proof, and baseball bat proof.

No way, i would not spend 100$ for protecting a screen, i use my iPhone very carefully so i think i don't need any type of screen protector.

It will either be standard on all iPhones, or not at all.

Not sure why people give rumours like this any attention.

What has Apple done in the last 15 years, to make you think that this is something they might even consider doing?

It's such a bad idea.

They've given a Matte screen option on MacBook Pros line. Not saying it's the same, but similar. And you did mention 15 years. :p

I would not pay $100 for this option. Sounds like of stupid to be honest. If it comes with a sapphire display great. If it doesn't, I assume it will be Gorilla Glass 3, so that's also good for me.

Now if it was $100 for sapphire and no upgrade fee for regular glass or a plastic screen...

Macrumors forums are most likely more informed than ABC's GMA.

Really? I am not. The only thing I watched is NY1 when I still lived in NYC.

I'm not sure how to interpret your reply, but what I meant was that more info and more correct info regarding tech, specifically Apple tech, can be found here as opposed to mainstream media, especially morning shows and their well-manicured marionettes.

While there is a lot of rabbit-chasing and self-placating ranting, you see correct info here that you won't find anywhere else. I remember 2 years ago when folks had figured out the flight numbers of the iPhone shipment planes coming from China, so as to track them. That's incredible.

Where's the option for "I'd stop getting my "news" from Good Morning America?"

$100 doesn't seem worth it when you can just use a $1 screen protector, would only be worth it if it helped against screen shattering/cracking.

If I had problems with the current glass protection, I would spend that extra. But I have no issues with Gorilla Glass, so I would never take that option.

get the zagg glass. it is amazing. clarity is perfect and it protects the screen and if you drop it, it does a good job of saving it

I don't think the screens will have different options. It'll either have sapphire or not have sapphire. I heard the iPhone 6 will start at 299$ on contract (100$ more) because of the size increase and components used.
