April fools day is over my friend. Those phones have an ultra thin anodizing, you will never feel a difference in weight cause of that.

There could conceivably be a weight difference based on the memory capacity (16GB vs 128GB), since the higher capacity means more memory chips inside. And I would expect any display models would be 16GB. Though to be honest I doubt it's a big enough difference that most people would notice.

You would also expect Apple to note such a difference since they have the weights and dimensions of all the models available in minute detail.

Your space grey probably feels heavier because you spent the on that one.

The color of the aluminum doesn't change the weight

It's the other way around. Precious metals are heavy and space has no gravity.

It is. It's actually made of dark space gray matter.

There's grey matter missing from somewhere, but I don't think it's the phone.;)

Correct. Also, it's heavier because on the Space Grey model they used liquid nitrogen cooling equipment to cool the A8 quantum processor.

There's most certainly some variance between batches but it's not tied to color.

Yours is probably heavier because of all of the apps and data you've added. Apps and data can be extra heavy I hear.

Mind blowingly hilarious replies hahaha you guys are sooo funny. /s

But anyways, OP you can actually ask members to send you weight numbers on this thread and get an answer, it is not a crazy question and worth investigating, no harm. Unfortunately I have a space grey as well, and it's inside a thin case so don't want to pull it out for the experiment.

My phone felt a little heavier when I downloaded Schindler's List. Man that film is heavy.

It also felt heavier when I downloaded some heavy metal from iTunes.

It's not the color, it's the apps. More storage used equals more weight. Try removing some music or uninstalling some apps. :D

google let me to this thread...

and yes i just noticed this too when i was playing with my wife's gold iphone 6. my space grey (both 64g) is not only heavier but also thicker. i thought i was tripping, then i put her phone into my bumper case and it was obvious that my SG had a more tight fit.
