They are all identical in weight. They are all made of the same material.

google let me to this thread...

and yes i just noticed this too when i was playing with my wife's gold iphone 6. my space grey (both 64g) is not only heavier but also thicker. i thought i was tripping, then i put her phone into my bumper case and it was obvious that my SG had a more tight fit.

I have noticed this too. I even put on the official Apple silicone case and it was noticeably flexible in the gold iPhone 6 Plus than the space grey counterpart. The space grey model felt slightly heavier too.

I'm not complaining, just curious.

I heard that the price of gold and silver has risen over the years and Apple have had to cut the amount of these precious metals to save on rising costs. Hence the difference in weight.

I've held a black iPad next to a white iPad and felt that the black one was heavier, I can't explain why, I know it isn't. I think the darker one looks more substantial and that biases your perception. The white ones look light and airy.

Hi guys

I got space grey 6 and i love it. But i went to apple store and tried to play around with gold color and silver color.. I noticed that there is slight difference weight difference with my space grey. Do any of you aware of the issue?

Pls advise
I tried to search the issue and doesnt seem to find one and wonder if it is only my phone

Thanks

I just weighed my wife's iPhone 6 gold (64gb) and my iPhone 6 space grey (64gb) and there is a 0.14 oz weight difference. Same phone but her gold is actually lighter. Hope that helps.

Black - 4.54 oz
Gold - 4.40 oz

the heat it collected from your body made it a bit lighter like hot air so it felt less heavy. or it could be the coating of dead skin cells making it feel more personal and lighter.

My Space Gray iPhone 6 is heavier too...

This is gonna sound crazy but mine is heavier too... It is noticeable. I had mine shipped so it was the only 6 I'd held for any period of time...when I went to the store recently I noticed immediately that the phone I picked up felt lighter (silver, I think). Since then I've weighed several phones of all colors, but have been unable to correlate. There is definitely a heavier version of phones with the exact same model number, from what I can tell...

Also, on a somewhat related note: the different colors feel different too. If you take away a person's phone, have them close their eyes and either put their original phone or a different color into their hands, they can always tell which one isn't theirs... the silver ones seem more powdery, somehow.
