The simplicity of iOs is what makes appealing. I went android for a year, all of the clutter and inconsistency was headache inducing. Coming back to iOS was like coming back home.

Higher specifications and "pieces of flair" aren't everything. The end user experience is, and nobody does that better than Apple. You either get that, or you don't. This girl does not.

I've used the android layout and actually at the end of the day in just trying a click a number or email. Appearance may be better in the opinion of some but there is no increased functionally so it's a moot point to me.

The data usage graph on the other hand is useful and better than what ios has imo

That screenshot of usage stats makes me want to throw up.

I just don't get Android. At all.

While I agree that the Android Contacts is more robust and feature filled I really thought about it and recalled that I spend exactly 0 time in the Contacts app.

I add a new contact, and use the dialer to find and call them, I only ever used the app for management which was next to never.

I do wish that iOS had the contact pictures :)

iPhone 6 Usage and Contacts App are so basic compared to Android

I prefer to have choices rather than have a developer decide for me what I need and don't need. Apples UI is simpler for sure. They are targeting the masses, not the techies. There are pros and cons to that approach.

It's hard to please everyone. Especially here.

I agree with most people, I like the way contacts are shown on the iPhone. My only complain with the contact app is that there is not an option to delete all contacts or select several contacts and delete them. the whole process of deleting contacts is just annoying.

Never had a phone 4.0 or newer personally I was fed up with Android junk far before that ever came out. As far as I know neither of the employees have a task killer installed but I will look into that. The least I know about Android the better I know it's a crap system and that's enough.

I guess ignorance is bliss huh? The Android OS (stock) does some things better than iOS, and iOS does some things better than Android. In the end, everyone will choose what they like best. But, being ignorant, and flaming the competition makes your arguments much less credible than they otherwise would be. There's really no reason for the random hate each OS gets from the users of the other, pretty stupid if you ask me. I try and steer people to using the OS that's better suited for them, rather than convincing them to do what I do.

You obviously never had one of the early androids that worked 50% of the time? I will never own another one they always released them buggy as heck like out iOS bugs are nothing in comparison to what Android would roll out.

I beg to differ, but whatever helps you sleep at night :)

I never got one of the early Android phones that were buggy because I knew they were a piece of junk. I had the OG Droid, that thing was solid. One of the biggest problems Android has is that people get suckered into buying crappy devices. It literally was a market where you got what you paid for. Nowadays it is more of a rare case to get screwed like that. Best phone on the market is the Moto G, plenty of power, nice Software, and at $179 you can't go wrong. Now the camera isn't anything to be proud of, but for it's price it can't be beat by anything. I've been considering an iPhone 6 because I want a quality device that is about the size of my current device, but I've always been a sucker for a good bargain; that's why I'm waiting on the Nexus 6. Comparing Google's best to Apple's best.

It all boils down to being a savvy consumer. With an iPhone you don't really have to be as savvy as you do with an Android phone.

Star - I already know what all my contacts look like. Why do I need pics of them? Oh, and your android needs a virus protection app, my iPhone doesn't. You can keep your fancy pictures, I'll keep my secure device.

This is I've owned more Android phones than I have apple phones. Ice owned the Droid 2, Droid X, Droid Incredible, Thunderbolt, and the original Nexus device. The original Nexus device was a pile of **** at launch, would never ring when my wife called with full signal. Verizon replaced the device and sim twice finally blamed the building I worked in because it was steel. I had a iPhone 4 prior and had no issues at work and returned the nexus and that was the end for me I will never go back. Thing is I don't care about all the gay ass features they have that are pointless like a picture in your contact list I need a device that works first and foremost and Apple doesn't let me down. I know when I Pre-order a Apple product it's not going to be buggy as hell out of the gate like the Android OS. Another big issue with Android was wasting time downloading apps that didn't work, apparently if you own a computer you can upload a app to the Android Market. When I download one from thr App Store I know it might be worthless but it will at least function because a person has actually approved it.

All in all though the Droid Incredible is probably my all-time favorite device, sorry apple guys but that phone was solid and well designed. I wouldn't give up my 6 for it by any means but in its day it was a strong device.

i was using android for 2 months, and it was pain. mainly with contacts. its so easy and clutter free on ios.

iPhone 6 Contacts App is Behind Android! Any way to improve?

This is something Apple will probably improve on in iOS 9 next year.

Iphone is for grown up people, kid will be pleased with android they have so much time customizing , iphone is for busy people who want a phone that work and simple

I am really missing the contacts App from android... its so much better than iPhone:

1- It shows a picture next to each person in list mode (or a letter of their first name) without having to tap a name.

2- You see a nice big picture of the photo you chose when you select the contact.

3- You can have "groups" of people. You can create groups, "Family", "Close Friends", "Android Buddies", "Apple Friends" and assign people to them.

4- There is a lot more "space" between each contact so its not just a big list of names and its simple!

The Apple contacts app needs to be improved and leaves much to be desired...

Anybody else feel this way coming from Android? Or does anyone use a different app for managing contacts?

No and I definitely won't miss the hideous UI in the Messages app. On the other hand, Contacts definitely needs some profile photos in iOS.

The older you get the more social circles you get. Kids can't be the only ones who can create groups for their friends :p

so you guys are seriously saying you don't want more in depth data for your usage habits?

I'm saying that different preferences exist, and that's why we have different platforms.

I for one have doubts that the "in-depth" info presented in the Android example is really that in depth. Do I need a graph to tell me that Facebook is hogging my battery? Or is it better to just list it as the top energy hog among my apps? For me, the latter does it just fine.

But hey, if a pretty graph is what you need, that's why there's Android.

you're implying the battery stats are useless and nothing more than a pretty graph. seems like a biased and/or ignorant view on something as basic as battery usage stats.
