I've used as 6" phone for the past year (Lumia 1520) and still used my iPad (Surface Pro 3 since July).

Having a larger phone simply makes it "easier" to do certain things you would always go to your tablet for such as browsing the web, looking at documents, etc. My tablet is still my default for those type of functions, but sometimes it is just not convenient to pull out my tablet and being able to see and share from my larger phone has been a huge bonus (especially when showing pics).

Heading back to Apple (6+ on order) since I couldn't even use my old iPhone 5 after getting used to the larger phone.

After getting the iPhone 6+, sold my iPad Air and never looked back. I'm covered for everything and having one device to charge and carry everywhere is refreshing.

My iPad still gets regular use because I use ForeFlight and the iPhone is not an approved EFB( plus the iPhone version of ForeFlight doesn't have the same features as the iPad).

But the 6+ has become the go to mobile device if I am on the couch and want to browse.

It might take a little while to tell for me. My rMini has been sitting around a LOT since I got my Plus. I still consider the rMini my favorite reading/media device, but with the rMini I have to carry a bag (OK, I admit it--it's a murse). The Plus does fit all my front pants pockets just fine.

I do not find the 6 Plus quite up to the rMini for my use, but it's close enough to use for a lot of day-to-day activities.

The basic conclusion I get from this thread based on the replies:

The 6 Plus destroys the iPad mini, but for iPad Air users who need the screen size/performance for productivity, the 6 Plus has not replaced the full sized iPad.

I am typing this from my iPad Air2, which has basically replaced my iPad 3rd gen, and I use it when I am somewhere for an extended period of time (e.g., like now... away from home staying with family). I use the 6+ for general out and about, and the mini size for waiting room situations where I may be sitting for a few hours and need something larger but still portable (e.g., car repair or Dr. appointment). For me, the 6+ is good for internet in a pinch while on the go, but the bigger tablets are best for extended surfing.

That's what I think I'm going to do as well. If the iPad were to become more of a true multitasking device maybe things would be different but for now - one device to rule them all!

I use my iPad Air 2 for all around web browsing, ibooks, media browsing. Actually because of the sms forwarding feature, Ive been using my iPad way more than my iPhone 6+. The 6+ is ok for on the go browsing, but in general, its still way too small of a screen for my liking for long term usage. Around the house and at work, I don't even touch my iphone, its only when I'm out and about that I find it useful. But that being said, I don't think the screen size is a huge factor for me anymore; I think next go around I may get the smaller model.

Yes, things look pretty much like that. Apple (or any other company for that matter) would never cannibalize the sales of their own devices intentionally, but it seems that sometimes this is inevitable.

i've been using my iPad mini more. not that i don't use and LOVE my 6+.... but at the same time we got our plusses, we switched from our unlimited to mobile share... which includes using my iPad on my data pool and not the teeny tiny plan i had on it.... so now i use the mini quite a bit whereas i used to have to use my phone.

i think my 6+ and mini are a perfect combination.

i though for about 5 minutes about getting an iPad air... but then i played with it in the store and decide my mini's size is too perfect!
