Whichever of the two looks the best.

Now, if the iPhone Air looked like this compared to the rumored iPhone 6 leaks I've been seeing, this is what I want.

This design is so unrealistic already just because of the back of the phone. How do you want to put it on a table or other flat surface? It would bounce back and forth all the time…
At some universities you have some tables that aren't flat, but I can still put my iPhone there without it falling down. It's because I have a case that does not slide and so the iPhone "sticks" on the table. With the design you've shown, and a case like the one I have now, the iPhone would still fall down.

But even if the back was flat, that design is terrible.
If this and iOS7/8 are what you want, why not simply buy a Samsung?

I want the 4.7. Apple can keep their iPad mini mini. I want to be able to use my phone with one hand and put it in my pockets.

Both are way too big … unless you have American Hulk-Hands of course and huge baggy pants with enormous pockets haha

Apple needs to learn that there's other important markets out there where people have different body sizes and wear different clothes. The 5/5S is already too big for most people I know. Everyone has at least once let it fall already, which wasn't the case with previous iPhones …

I'm not sure if Apple has some kind of inferiority complex towards other companies making huge phones, but the argument "bigger = better" is, as we know, the weakest way of thinking that exists.

Plus, I bet the "smaller" iPhone will in fact be inferior to the bigger one (a bit like the 5C to the 5S) which means you HAVE to buy the bigger one if you want a quality phone. That's a bit like: you'd like to have a Fiat 500 for the city with leather seats and panoramic roof and heated seats and all that stuff but WAIT nope you can only get that in a fat ugly 7.0 litre sedan with 150 hp that goes straight into the slightest corners. That's more or less the same way of thinking.

(Of course you can get all those options I listed in the Fiat 500 in case you were wondering.)

Apples business will go where the money is and they've established that's a larger screen market. Easy as that.

Those "important" markets are only important to you an a minority or at least according to Apples rumored decisions. Why would Apple cater to them? And haven't they for long enough?

And of course the larger of the two iPhones (if that ends up being true) will have some better hardware. Operating a bigger screen requires more power, if they were identical then the larger model would be slower, at least in benchmarks. Not a very good selling point for what will likely be a more expensive model.

All I know is I went to the store to try the iPad Air and I was like. "Still heavy. This isn't deserving of the title."

Apple is acting like their new iPad is the ****. But it's still not the weight that a tablet should be.

I think you're in the wrong forum - this one pertains to the iphone.

----------

Apple would not call the biggest version of something in a product line "air"

Neither the 4.7 or the 5.5 (if it's even real) will be called the iPhone air

The iPad Air is the biggest ipad.

For all my bitching about bigger phones, I'll likely end up with the 5.5" model. I figure if I have to deal with a bigger phone anyway, I might as well go for broke and get one that can double as an iPad Mini. Probably the only thing that would sway me back to the 4.7" is if for some reason the specs on the 5.5" don't measure up; e.g. worse battery life or something like that. With continuity incoming and instant hotspot capabilities arriving I'll want a phone that can handle that, battery-wise.
