Thanks for your help. All of my other Apple products tend to have the screen temperature to the left which to me looks more like a true white then the screen on the right. It is odd going back and forth between my iPhone and my iPad and seeing a noticeable difference in the colors I am looking at.

Of all the Apple device I have owned, they were mostly like the one on the left (with the blue tint), and I actually preferred the blue tinted screen. My iPhone 6 Plus does not have the yellow tint and does look like the one on the left. Had I gotten a phone with the yellow tint, it automatically goes back to the store.

----------

Yeah the differentiation is a pain. After using my iPad the phone colors look off. Then after using my iPhone for a while and going to my iPad the iPad looks off.

Yea I notice this too when I look at my iPhone for a long period of time and then I look at the iPad mini, I can definitely notice the yellow tint on my ipad. But after a while, I just forget that it's there.

What often helps is holding a sheet of plain white paper beside the screen and compare with it.

I noticed the same thing. See the photo attached, the 5s and 6 plus, both set on maximum brightness. I have a second phone that I was going to return (spouse doesn't like the large size). I haven't activated it yet, but looking at the dim opening screen, it appears to have the same warmer screen.

So now I am thinking that the 5s actually ran cool (blue). The 6 plus is closer to my iPad. And the bottom line, the colors in the photos on the 6 plus look great.

Thanks for that picture. The colors on my 6 do look good, it was just really different from my 5S and my iPad. This makes going for a swap not worth it because I assume the colors on the 6 and 6+ are just overall better which in turn gives you the warmer screen.

Hey everyone,

I have been reading everyone's post about having "yellow" iPhone 6 screen but no one has seemed to post pictures. I too was blessed with receiving a "yellow" screen iPhone 6. I have attached a picture of my iPhone 6 compared to my old iPhone 5S. This is the difference between a warm and cool screen. I don't think I will have it replaced because I have read of too many other problems but I wanted to share this with those who are curious as to how different displays can be.

TAKE IT BACK. Extremely common problem with Apple. I have had this problem with the 4, the 5, and the 5S, and I was REALLY hoping it wouldn't show up in the 6 as it is a new screen. Looks like unfortunately not the case. My 6 is flawlessly white and crisp and bright, it is amazing. I had to replace my 5S several times for different issues, and the replacements I would get almost every time would be yellowish. I would literally have them open box after box until I got a correct one. Finally, on the last replacement it was yellow and I had gone through so much trouble I just gave up and was like god I can't do this. That phone bothered me so much for the few months I used it. So glad it is gone. If you don't exchange it now, it will bother you the whole time you own the phone. There is no "fixes on its own" there is no "getting used to it". Junk.

Those are some pretty definitive comments there. Junk? Don't think so. You might be used to or even love screens that are bluish or cool but that doesn't mean the screen the OP has is junk. In terms opening box after box, you didn't get the correct one but one you prefer.

That's the thing, bushbaby, the 5s DIDNT run cool.

When the 5s came out, there were many with these same yellow screens. And everyone claimed Apple was intentionally making the screens warmer.

Now you are comparing a cool 5s to a warm 6. How is that possible? I though Apple made all 5s phones warm on purpose?

The thing is, when an iPhone launches, there will be a bunch that have this yellow screen defect at first. Eventually, the cool screens will return. Then someone will use one of the cooler screened 6's to compare to a yellow 6S, and the cycle will repeat where people like you claim the old phone is cool, and the new phone is warm.

I have a cool 6 right in front of me. Its not intentional. The warm screens are defects.

OP: TAKE IT BACK

Looks fine to me. The only time I'd say defect if it's not uniform in its temp.

What did you decide to do? I started with a space gray iPhone 6 and the screen was milk white. It was giving me headaches so bad. My iPhone 5 was slightly yellow and and I exchanged my 6 for the gold and this is more warm white and its not bothering my eyes at all and the pictures and colors are so much better then the space gray. Tons better! So now I do prefer the slightly warmer. It's easier on the eyes and I think the colors stand out more and look nicer. The yellow goes way back to the 3GS models. I think your phone looks fine. It's when its really yellow that it bothers me. I have seen some like that.

My 6 & 6+

The yellow 6 gives an unpleasant experience.
The 6 plus display is surreal!

The tint on the 6 makes greys green and whites yellow.
It is honestly shocking. Nothing looks sharp in comparison to the 6+.

People say that its merely 'warmer' and ones that arent have a 'blue tint'

Its not the case. White is white on my 6+. Grey is grey. Photos are sharp and have brilliant contrast. There is no 'blue tint'.

The 6 looks as though it has a urine filter and photos look unrealistic/ filtered.

I understand people who use 'calibrated' screens have a warmer tone and some may prefer that... My only question is: why do most people complain when they have yellow tints? My answer: because people want their whites white and greys grey, not a spectrum of yellows, if we wanted that, we'd buy amoled samsungs lmao.

Look, to each there own but i sympathise with anybody with the yellow tint because in real life, in hand i can personally say in my opinion, the true colour bright whites look ****ing lightyears better than the dim smudgy yellow veil many are cursed with.

Just my opinion! If you prefer the 'true' calibrated urine stain whites then more power to you!

After seeing your pics. My gold iPhone 6 looks more like your 6 plus. But my space gray one was even whiter but something had to be wrong with that phone. It was giving me a headache and a lot of things looked blurry. Especially videos. This one does seem a little warmer then my last one. I wish I could do a comparison pic. The pictures on this one are awesome and colors are vibrant. But I do notice it is Warmer then that blue hue. Which is what I am comparing it to. I don't have the blue tint.

I was just at target earlier and went to their iPhone section and saw a gold 6+ there. It had a very uniform "blue" hue to it (FK model) but the screen looked so dull compared to mine. I would say my 6+ is a tad warmer but the colors look more neutral on mine (whites look closer to white) and the colors popped a lot more and the overall screen is brighter. The max brightness on that display phone was like what my brightness is at 50%.

Just goes to show "blue" isn't always better. There is a medium ground between blue and yellow...it's called "neutral" lol. If I had a phone with that dull blue tint, I'd want to take it back even though it was uniform.

It's got the yellow and the washed out effect too. I have seen the piss yellow and light blueish hue have the washed out effect and some without it.

I would take your back. More for the washed out issue.

The blue "FK" 6+ had colors that looked duller and more washed out. If I have to choose between a display that shows better images or one that shows inferior images and just happens to have a "blue" tint, I'll take the former every time.

FYI, apple's official stance is that displays are made by different manufacturers and some variation is acceptable AKA some don't let you walk in and swap just by saying "my display is yellow tinted and I want a blue one".

The sucky part is reading the reviews and seeing the praise the display gets and the phone you get could have a display that is totally different. Apple really needs to calibrate these consistently.

Looks ok to me. The 5s looks purpleish pink. I'd prefer the 6 screen over the 5s. My iPad mini retina has a pinkish display when seen outside.
