Did you hear about the new 2 years contract rule coming to canada on december 2nd 2013?

Here's the link
http://business.financialpost.com/2013/06/03/crtc-wireless-code-canada/?__lsa=1f63-9ac3

And you can already see the new contract on the telus website are now two years contract as you can see when you are selecting a phone here:
http://mobility.telus.com/en/QC/smartphones/index.shtml?INTCMP=PhonesILCC4smartphones

unfortunately the monthly price will go up (I think it already did) because the cheapest plan I could get with the iPhone 5 was $70 while ordering on the website

I have heard about this, but it only applies if you signed onto your contract after December 2. I signed on in 2011, so I still have to pay for three years.

While I appreciate the fact that not everyone wants a larger screen I have a hard time believing they will buy a iPhone 6C instead with a smaller screen and likely less storage and battery.

Larger device means the following are almost a certainty on the iPhone 6

128mb
20 hour talk time battery
802.11ac
NFC

If you have to sacrifice features to remain with a smaller screen how many will actually do so? I'm sure some but i doubt many. Man oh man a battery that lasts twice as long would be a dream come true!!

I'm debating upgrade for my iPhone 4, really tempted to upgrade to 5S but not sure yet, so tempted to wait for iPhone 6 with bigger screen.:D

I tell you, I don't care about any of the new features, I am actually happy with all that iPhone has now, no need to anything new, I just want a bigger screen so I can see better at times.

I would happily not see any of your listed features and just a bigger screen and I would buy the new iPhone.

Debating upgrading from the 4 to the 5S because I don't want a bigger screen. The 6 is bound to have a bigger screen again, but the other features should be a great improvement. I was surprised by the Touch ID personally given that this is an S release.

I'm on the same boat. I think this year, it's all about (in no particular order):
1. iOS 7
2. iPad 5 (and maybe a Retina iPad Mini, not too sure)
3. Macbook Air
4. Retina Macbook Pro 13"
5. Mac Pro

The rest, like the rMBP 15" and iPhone 5S is not that big of an upgrade. Sure, the 5S is cool, but I'm gonna stay with my 5 and use the money to buy the coming iPad 5. Can't wait.

I would wait one more year. The OS is just tolerable enough on the iPhone 4. Next year Apple will likely discontinue iOS on the iPhone 4, and we will see huge improvements from iPhone 4 to iPhone 6.It's the same thing I did with the upgrade to iPhone 4. I got the 3G, and skipped the 3GS and got the iPhone 4 when iOS 4 was just usable on iPhone 3G.

My reasoning as well. I am finding much more utility in my iPad2 than my iPhone 4s --- I am not a huge talker, so if the iPad Mini gets a retina display I am all in. I don't plan on purchasing another phone on contract, so if the 5s had a slightly larger screen, I would have bought that as well.

As it stands, iPad Mini this year, and iPhone 6 2014.
