It seems the 6s series has more resolution and faster focus vs incremental updates on DR/color and such. Anyone getting that feeling? I'm not discounting the engineering, just the consumer side.
We're speculating, nothing wrong with that.Or....or, and hear me out......Wait till the phone becomes available to test out.
It absolutely sucks, should have put a full frame sensor in it with both phase detection and contrast detection. But even if they did that, I'm pretty sure people would still "probably not" upgrade because it's not enough megapixels. Ugh, the 6s sucks.
I thought in the keynote they said the megapixels were increased by 50% to 12. Doesn't that mean it was 8 before? 8 to 12 sounds significant. Did I hear it or interpret it wrong?

Yes, but they also shrunk the size of the pixels. This means more noise, poorer performance in low light, and decreased dynamic range.
Yeah. When its the part of the presentation to talk about the camera then Apple usually announces it with a fanfare (in a perfectly lit garden of course). But this year it was like "Hey, 12MP and a cool gimmicky storage chomping photo trick that most people won't be able to see."We're speculating, nothing wrong with that.
And apple never mentioned any improvements aside from the two listed hence the origin of that speculation.
Besides the lack of OIS, that was the other disappointment for me. They should have increased the aperture to at least f/2.0. They're likely saving that for the iPhone 7s, and f/1.8 for the iPhone 8s. I hope they come sooner though, since those are probably the only things that can improve low-light photography now that the megapixels are sufficient and at a decent 1.22um size.I definitely think they should have improved the aperture. It would have made the camera a lot better IMO.
Yes, 1.2MP really was pathetic. Can't believe it lasted that long!Who cares about the rear facing camera. Where's my 4K selfie video? Apple cannot innovate anymore! /s
To be honest, one of my criteria for a phone purchase is the front facing camera. For regular pictures, I have access to my mirrorless camera. But for those quick selfies/welfies, the front facing camera becomes an important social tool. I'm glad that Apple finally took notice and bump the front facing camera from the pathetic 1.2MP.![]()

Ew Logic doesn't apply here, we just jump to conclusions. I don't even like logic anyway.Or....or, and hear me out......Wait till the phone becomes available to test out.
