I tried mine with all sorts of plugs and cables, some third party. When plugged to an outlet it goes from zero to full in less than 2 hours.

Yeah...plus Samsung designs their chargers to damage iPhones when plugged in. True story
Before you lay down sarcastic responses please educate yourself on the difference between android and apple high speed usb charging.
I wasn't insinuating that the Samsung charger would damage the iPhone. I was just trying to help out the op figure why his iPhone is charging so slow.
Unless you have intelligent 3rd party chargers that can differentiate between what kind of device is being plugged into it, putting an iOS device on an android 'only' charger like samsungs basically tells the iOS device that it's only plugged into a 'basic USB' port which is -to the iOS device- only capable of the standard usb 500ma power rating. The same is true vice versa - try plugging a galaxy S6 on an iPad charger.

If you don't believe me get yourself a kill a watt type of meter and try different usb chargers on your iPhone or iPad. Keep in mind you won't see the faster charging rate for at least a minute or so as the iPhone checks to see what kind of charger it's plugged into.

Wow, that was very educational. Thank you!

Since switching on the LOW POWER MODE, it's actually charging faster between 81% to 99% but it's still not stopped charging. How weird is this.. and why aren't there more people coming forward?

Are you using your device while charging? If so and you are using the small cube charger that came with it, it will charge slow or may not charge at all. From what you are saying it does not sound right. I do use an iPad charger to charge my phone but it takes less than a hour to go from 70% to full.

You should not have to put your device into low power mode to get it to charge faster.

I will say my charging is kind of sporadic. This morning it want fro. 54 to 61 in just a few minutes. Yesterday it struggled to get over 96. Just going to attribute it to getting all settled in. Battery life has been decent thus far but I expected a bit more out of the plus. It'll get better within the first couple of days

I got a new Verizon 6s plus 32g. I noticed last night that it was taken forever to charge. Much more than my 6 Plus.

I came here to check if people were experiencing the same thing. Sure enough. I found this thread. I hope it's not going to be a problem.

Get yourself a 2.4A rated charger. The one you get with the phone is only 1.0A. This is the official one.
This... People complaining about slow charging shouldn't say anything until they get one of these. It's partly Apple's fault, they shouldn't be putting the piddly 1 amp chargers in 2015 with a large smartphone. The iPad one should be stock - more specifically the iPad Air version. (As Apple does the same cheapskate thing with the iPad mini)

For people who put their phone on the charger before they go to bed, the included charger will be just fine. Apple is never going to give us an iPad charger in the no box with your phone.

I suggest...

To all the people suggesting iPad chargers... it is a stupid suggestion. Yes the iPad charger DOES charge faster. But... there is no reason the regular charger should take 8 hours. That means there is some sort of problem... one that needs to be solved before he goes shopping for a faster charger.

You must have an issue with either the charger or cable or something.

I find that my 6S actually charges way quicker then my 5 did. We only use 2A chargers though.

No issues here on my 6s plus. No difference between it and last year's iPhone 6. Suggestions here are good, but I'd agree that's using an iPad charger is not the solution to your issue (though it is a good idea once you get that resolved). If an official Apple
charger and cable don't charge a factory reset iPhone in about 3 hours, then you have a hardware issue.

Did you read what the op was doing? He was heavily using his phone while charging. If you want the capability to charge and use the phone at the same time, you're going to need more than 5 watts. The stock charger only charges decently on a 6s if you're letting it sleep while charging. Of course reading emails is much less draining than playing a game. My 6s struggles to charge while gaming with a stock charger.
