You just said you tried to restore it twice and got an error....... NOW you're saying it does nothing...... You need to get your story straight before you tell it lol.
That's what confused me too. It is why I was mentioning the iTunes issue because I have gotten a 4014 error code on a restore after the phone "died".

You should considered lucky that it's the iPhone that broke. At least there are lots of Apple Stores you can walk in and walk out with a replacement phone. Imagine if you broke any other brands you will have to mail it out and wait for days to get replacement. That's what I like most about buying Apple products.

i got the error message on iTunes on my desktop computer, not on the actual phone

I personlly wouldn't wait to make a Genius appointment. I would drive to my nearest Apple Store and and have them fit me in as a walk in. I had my girlfriend do this last week when her 6 died. She went first thing when the store opened and they replaced her phone, no questions asked.

I got a full refund!!

Just got back from the Apple store, i decided to take up their option of getting a full refund instead of swapping it out. I was going to take a new phone, but changed my mind while sitting at the genius bar for a while. many people around me were having major issues with their phones. this girl in front of me was swapping out her new 6S Plus for a SECOND TIME!

Once the apple rep determined they can't get it to start up, all they do is just offer to swap out the phone. This is just a band aid for me. If there is issues with these phones then i don't want one, especially for $800. Ive been using apple products for 20 years and never have had problems with them. i always brag about their quality to people. It just didn't sit well for me to spend $800 and have the device die within a month. I couldn't believe this girl was going on her 3rd 6S plus within a month. ridiculous.

I also use an iPad mini2 every day. this thing is awesome and I've never had a an issue with it in like 2 years

I also didn't like how the apple rep suggested, after telling me he would swap out phone, that i should buy applecare for it. It may just be routine to offer it, but he had a look in his eye like he knows there is trouble with these phones

Yes, because one of the iPhones died in a month mean all iPhones will die soon. Good luck with your next device.

I know lots of people with the new iPhone and none have issues. You do realize you were at a place that repairs or replaces broken phones so you will likely see more issues there. Just like if I went to the service deptament for my car, I might see more people who has issues with the same car.

Anyway...hopefully whatever phone you ended up will be trouble free...just can't think of any device off the top of my head that haven't had any failures.

That is great. I hope you find one that is perfect, be it an Apple product or not. I must be very lucky as I have owned every iPhone and never had a problem. Knock on WOOD!:)

You make this sound like there are major problems with all 6s. Yeah there's gonna be recalls. Geez I've bought every single iPhone since 2007 none of them had problem that must means iPhones are flawless by your logic. You should just switch to Android phone.

Well they did you a favor. Not many companies that will give you a full refund after their return date.

I'd just walk into the store and tell them your phone is dead and I bet they will see you with a wait. I've found them to be pretty good about that.

You do realize out of MILLIONS of phones sold, that was a very small sample size. I;m glad Apple took care you, they've always been great when I've had an issue.

I've had that same error on a previous generation phone and a DFU restore fixed it. I;m surprised that didn;t work so it seems like exchanging or getting a refund was the best course of action.

Not sure how that girl is treating her phones, my 6s Plus arrived on launch day and has been rock solid.

Dude I think you had bad luck with the phone you received. I'm using my 6s for 3 weeks now and I'm more than happy with it. Just buy a new one and enjoy using it.

This is SO TRUE. My ex had a BlackBerry Passport with a screen lifting off the phone. This is a known issue with the device. Even so, according to him, he had to jump through hoops to get the company to send him a label so he could send it back. Then he had to wait forever to get a device back. AND he had the BlackBerry insurance they had offered. It took an entire month for this saga.

I know I shouldn't have been smug about it but did say I don't have to jump through all those hoops with my phone. Pentagon City Mall Apple Store is 15 minutes from my office door.

The way you are carrying on and acting like you have never heard of a mass produced item having a defect makes you sound like you are barely 20 years old, let alone have been buying apple products for 20 years.
Disgruntled fanboy, you are

I'm pretty sure you're the only one disgruntled in this thread. Which phone did you end up getting in place of the iPhone? I'd love to know which brand and model your research has found to have ZERO defects ever.

So what are you going with instead?

Same thing happened to me yesterday, iPhone 6S, a month old worked perfectly. Put the phone down and maybe 10 min later is was completely bricked. Did not respond to anything, no hard reset. Took it to the Genius Bar, they had the same experience, no one could get it to work or do a hard reset. Got a appointment for Monday, will probably get a new one instead. will let you guys know.
