Worst quality screen glass yet. Scratches easily.

I can't believe they aren't upgrading it.

Thanks for that info. As you seem to be Mr. Know-It-all, perhaps you can tell me, will the next iPhone have Force Touch and will the storage capacity start at 32GB? I look forward to your answers.

Thanks!!!

I'd love force touch, but I don't think we're going to get it...

Gary
we're gonna get it. i think they're at least introducing the way force touch will feel, with how iOS 9 has changed some vibration patterns, as with Siri. feels like an Apple Watch

Meh, same old ****** iPhone 6 design and size. I guess every other iPhone generation is bound to be ****** (4, 4S, 6, 6S).

EDIT: Seriously Macrumors? It's not even the F-word...

I guess we'll be getting a "leaked" image of a fully assembled iPhone 6s/ plus soon.

I'm really hooping that this doesn't have a sapphire screen. It's going to be scratch city. I'll definitely have to invest in a good screen protector.

I don't think they'll be using sapphire for this panel.

Tim Cook has already siphoned off all their sapphire for the mirrors he needs for his discussions about Apple Watch sales figures. He is providing the smoke from forest fires in drought-stricken California.

What is your problem with Tim Cook? Go ahead apply for the job if you can do better.

You know you can't , so just let your grudge go. The man did nothing to you. If it's so easy to run
a billion dollar company, everybody would be doing it.

If you don't agree with what Apple does or sells, get Android product and leave Apple alone.

For all that happens with Apple by Apple and from Apple, I do not have any personal advantage or disadvantage.

All the Apple products I have work extremely well. I only buy what suits my needs. The watch is of no interest , maybe never , maybe by generation 6.

Do they have shortcomings, yes. But it is impossible to make everybody happy.

Their percentage is pretty good.

These photos further prove that the new iPhone will still be rectangular.
Yikes! I thought it was going to be see-through. :D

Then I read the article :(

I'm hoping the Force Touch on the iPhone 6S will be like the trackpad on the MacBook, i.e. four motors making it feel like you pressed on exactly that spot, and not like the Apple Watch, where there is only one motor and the whole watch vibrates.

As for the whole idea with the S cycles, it's a smart move by Apple because it pushes down the manufacturing costs (they always make more money from the S models) and most people don't upgrade their phones every year anyway. And if you believe in what Apple is saying about only 27% of iPhone users having shifted to the iPhone 6, then a lot of people are anticipating the 6S, design change or not.

im kinda glad about the gorilla glass while the sapphire is nice and scratch resistant i think it much more brittle and not sure its worth the trade off

If Apple doesn't change the ugly iPhone 6 design (couch potato colors and white bands), I'm not buying it and probably switching.

If I have to pay 7 times the production cost of an underspec'd phone, this have to have the least of Apple's promises: design. Where's the goddamn true black option for the iPhone 6S?

Lol at people that are complaining about tims doubling down on secrecy. This is clearly an apple leak. Nothing new to show, but lets send a leak pic of something exactly the same as last year to get people excited and to talk about it w/out actually leaking anything new.

I don't see why, even when all of the rumours have supported your wishes for the iPhone 6S, you have to attack :apple: for something that hasn't even been announced yet. And why do you care so much about how much it cost to make the phone. It doesn't matter if cost $50 or $500 to produce, it doesn't impact you in any way shape or form.

Hmm... There's been speculation about Apple eventually ditching the home button, and integrating TouchID in the screen itself. Perhaps ForceTouch could be used as a replacement for the home button? Might not work as well as a physical button but surely it's a possibility?

It's worth the trade-off. I am amazed at the sapphire on my watch. It's a beast. I work a rugged day landscaping and gardening with my watch, exposing it to grit and scrapes and it remains pristine. I don't even have the scratches on the oleophobic coating that some people were complaining about. It's also taken a few light bumps and collisions against shelves. So it's not as horribly brittle as some people imagine.

Meanwhile about a month ago I dropped my cased iPhone and it hit the wrong way and the screen shattered like a cheap mirror. It's luck of the draw as to whether or not your iPhone screen is going to shatter when you drop your phone. But because the screens on the 6 and 6plus are so large, chances are a drop will shatter it. May as well go with the scratch resistant option like sapphire. Scratching is a more constant risk. Shattering is a once in a while risk because most people own their phones for two years without dropping them. All these years I've had cell phones and I've dropped mine only two or three times. But daily I risk scratching against keys in my purse, grit at the beach or in my pockets.

Well since both have been in the news recently, here's my favourite (and topical) "thing that looks identical to existing thing' at the moment.
