Any Lifeproof FRE Series users here can help me decide if I should get this case for my iPhone 6s? I'm looking for a waterproof case and this seems to be the best option I could find. Especially considering that its price has dropped recently by $10. Are you people happy with this case? do you use other waterproof cases?

This is the one I want:

I reviewed this case for the 6s Plus in Crushed Purple and was really impressed. The screen protector isn't perfect--it is a plastic screen protector, after all, but there is a really minimal air gap and optical clarity and responsiveness are quite good. Depending on the humidity in your area, you may have some issues with rainbowing (more humidity seems to make it worse). Overall, I found the case to be surprisingly slim and lightweight, and I really liked having it on my 6s Plus. Audio quality is not quite as good as with a naked iPhone, but is only minimally affected, and perfectly acceptable, in my opinion. Here's my review:

Thanks! gonna order this case.

I just got mine. I've had a LP case since they started making them for the iPhone 4. This is the best one yet.

Hope OP got it at $40 price point which is excellent.

Small tip regarding the rainbow effect. Per something I had read online, I purchased one of those very cheap *matte* screen films and applied that to the screen before putting it into the case. No loss of screen sensitivity and no rainbow effect.

I am not happy with the durability of the Fre. Mine is only 4 months old and the rubber has worn of in places so the inner frame of the case is exposed in a couple of places, and this is with no drops. I keep my phone in my pocket and I am quite surprised how much wear is on the case. The screen protector scratches easily and my case is at the end of its useful like in 4 months. I doubt it is even submergable at this point.

I tired this case for a while for my 6 plus. Screen protector is good for a waterproof case but still not that great. However I have realized there is always conpromises for a waterproof case.

If you need waterproofing this is probably the best option

Btw amazon is selling it for a discounted price. And if you go to Best Buy physical store they will price match the Amazon price, FYI

Have to tell you, I purchased the Pelican Marine. It is far superior to both Lifeproof cases I tried for my 6s plus. I also tried the dog and bone impact and that was the worst.

The pelican feels sturdier, the screen protector is flusher to the screen and the speakers project to the front. Great case.

Does Touch ID work with the Pelican?

I am curious, do you feel it's double-the-price better, since a Fre will run $40 and the Pelican Marine $80? Big price difference.

That's tough to answer as all cases are over priced. There is roughly a $30 difference on the 6s plus model and from my experience it's quite worth it. No comparison between the products.

It's works flawlessly

I submitted my claim online last night. I hope to hear something back from them in the next few days.

I purchased the Black LifeProof Fre for my 6s Plus on Memorial Day for a GREAT price (BestBuy open box..there was a slit on the side of the packaging ).
Thanks for your review Kegnova, your review played a large part in my final decision to purchase this case.
After doing the pre water test, I used alcohol pads to wipe my iPhone's screen and the inside screen of the Fre, hoping this would alleviate the "rainbow" effects. I throughly dried both screens with the cloth provided by LifeProof. The Fre's screen is smooth and very responsive.
I'm HAPPY to report that I have NO rainbow effects whatsoever and I live in Georgia where humidity can be high at times (today).

I am totally satisfied with my new LifeProof Fre case. AWESOME .

I also decided to purchase the Encase Belt Clip for my Fre, because my Otterbox Defender Belt Clip spoiled me .

Today is 3 business days since I submitted my claim to LifeProof, still no response. If I don't hear anything tomorrow, I'll have to call.
