I called LifeProof customer service and for some reason the claim didn't go through, they had no record of it in their system. The CS rep took my information over the phone and I had a confirmation email in about a minute. She was very helpful, cheerful and upbeat, it was a good experience. I will post an update when my replacement case arrives. Now I'm kicking myself for not calling it in to begin with. Sometimes the old fashioned way beats the high tech method.

I am not happy with the durability of the Fre. Mine is only 4 months old and the rubber has worn of in places so the inner frame of the case is exposed in a couple of places, and this is with no drops. I keep my phone in my pocket and I am quite surprised how much wear is on the case. The screen protector scratches easily and my case is at the end of its useful like in 4 months. I doubt it is even submergable at this point.
Hi Apple scruff,
I just purchased my LifeProof Fre a week ago, but after reading your post I'm really curious about the wear and tear after only 4 months. Is there anyway for you to post photos of the wear and tear? Thanks in advance.

Edit; I also find my LifeProof Fre's screen to be scratch resistant.

I have had 2 didferent FRE for iPhone 6. Both were plagued with horrendously rainbow screen covers. So bad I couldn't mentally get used to it and deal with it.

That was one of the reasons I was hesitant to purchase the LifeProof Fre, but after reading different ways to alleviate the "rainbow" effects, I decided to take a chance and used the alcohol process (cleaning both screens with alcohol pads and throughly drying both screens in a cool dry environment), it worked and I have NO rainbow effects on my screens.

I think I mentioned this previously, but using one of those super cheap matte screen films also works perfectly.

Yes, I did read your suggestion about the matte screen, however I decided to use the alcohol method first to see if it would work...it did. If for some reason the alcohol method doesn't hold up, I will have another method to use and test. Thanks for the idea.

I purchased the Black LifeProof Fre for my 6s Plus on Memorial Day for a GREAT price (BestBuy open box..there was a slit on the side of the packaging ).
Thanks for your review Kegnova, your review played a large part in my final decision to purchase this case.
After doing the pre water test, I used alcohol pads to wipe my iPhone's screen and the inside screen of the Fre, hoping this would alleviate the "rainbow" effects. I throughly dried both screens with the cloth provided by LifeProof. The Fre's screen is smooth and very responsive.
I'm HAPPY to report that I have NO rainbow effects whatsoever and I live in Georgia where humidity can be high at times (today).

I am totally satisfied with my new LifeProof Fre case. AWESOME .

I also decided to purchase the Encase Belt Clip for my Fre, because my Otterbox Defender Belt Clip spoiled me .

I forgot to post an update to my warranty claim with Lifeproof. They sent me a new case and I received it in about 6 days. Excellent customer service, very friendly and helpful. I hope the replacement holds up better than the first one. There is a lot I like about this case, I just need more durability.

When you got the replacement did you have to send in your broken case? My iPhone 7 Plus lifeproof fre case on the bottom opening port is not closing anymore and is becoming really annoying. But I need some sort of case on my phone while waiting on the new case.

My experience with Lifeproof is that they’ll send you the new case in a plain bag-and they don’t need the old case.

No, they didn’t ask for the old case.

Oh gotcha. The only issue I’m having with my case is that the part where I open to charge the phone won’t close. I just wonder if they’ll replace it with this issue. It keeps jabbing me when I reach to get my phone out of my pocket. Also, I looked into the warranty replacement and notified I have to pay shipping and they didn’t have the asphalt black version as a color option. I might have to call them to see about the color because I do not want bright pink or green haha.

They have excellent customer service so I would expect them to replace it.
