Hawt, I had the exact same issue!

Do you have your WiFi configured to use an automatic proxy? I encountered this same issue, and I was able to narrow it down to using certain filters for the Weblock ad blocker software. Let me know and I can walk you through fixing it.

Ive had a 6 do exactly as your video showed but it was caused by using a http proxy to block ads while on wifi. As soon as I removed that my phone was fine.

Yep. My theory is that something in the proxy is filtering out requests to a server that the system is trying to connect to. You can see that the phone keeps switching from WiFi to LTE. My theory is that it keeps trying to connect to the server on WiFi, and when it realizes it can't it disconnects WiFI and tries over LTE. But of course the phone sees that there is a faster WiFi connection available and connects back to it, creating an endless loop that hoses the system.

As soon as I saw the video it reminded me of when I was trying proxys to kill ads. Nothing wrong with the phone or software just settings in the wifi screen to be changed.

Hey! I was using Weblock! I haven't had an issue since I reset network settings and got rid of that auto-proxy setting. Now that I think of it... I only ran into issues while connected to Wi-Fi networks that I had Weblock setup on.

Did you find a fix to continue using Weblock? Or should I just give up on it?

Alternatively if you are concerned about installing an app from outside the App Store there is apparently an app call System Status that can tell you which one you have for $2.99.

How do you find out which one it is from this app?

I think this is it. I haven't had any issues since I reset network settings which disabled Weblock.

Such a frustrating few days! Glad to find out what the issue was. Did you manage to find a setup for Weblock that worked?

Glad it's all working good for you. To answer your question, I didn't. I'm just using content blockers from the App Store now.

After disabling the proxy completely, the phone was able to complete what ever it was trying to do that was causing it to lock up. I turned Weblock back on and did not have an issue... until the following day where the lag was back while my phone alarm was going off. I had to disable Wedlock again.

So a day and a half ago I went into the Wedlock app and made the following changes:
  1. I added apple.com as an allowed Domain in the Whitelist
  2. I disabled the "Block stats scripts" filter
Since then, I haven't had any issues. The lag may come back, and I may eventually have to disable Weblock, but this seems to work for now.

Can you check if you had "Block stats scripts" enabled as well?

I am having a similar issue. A couple times since I got my 6S the home screen has gone unresponsive. Simply locking and unlocking solved that. But now I am having issues with the touch screen in Safari. For example, on Macrumors certain things work and certain things don't. I can click links on the main page but can't click "Forums" in the drop down list. On Yahoo.com I can scroll up and down and sideways but can't click on any links. For both Macrumors and Yahoo hard pressing a link will give me the options associated with 3D Touch.

6S 64GB set up as new

Yeah that's interesting to me. The full backup/restore system is one of the best perks of using an iPhone in my opinion. I've never "set up as new" since my iPhone 3G and never will. iPhones have always run fine off the backups.

I'm still using a backup that has evolved over the years from an iPhone 4 backup. Usually a reset of settings or a full restore and reinstallation of the backup does the trick.

Yep, coming from Blackberry long ago it software was clumsy and did not work half the time. No fan of iTunes but it does the backup and restore on our apple devices quite well!

Enjoy!
