I'm a little surprised about the height and width increasing given that the 6 is already the size of many 5" phones and the 6+ matches 5.7" devices.
You will be hard pressed to see the height increase with your bare eyes even if you had the two phones side-by-side.

I wonder what that means for current cases. .2 mm is nothing, but it might prevent already slim cases from fitting.

.2 mm. That's .008". Insignificant. Nothing to talk about.

IIRC the iPad 3 was 0.6mm thicker than the previous iPad 2, and I had pretty tight iPad 2 cases that worked on the iPad 3. This is even less of a difference, I suspect most, if not all cases will work just fine.

I know it won't be noticeable, but still, I think people are hoping for a change in the other direction. I know that for the 7 many people are hoping that they will be able to cram a 5" display into the dimensions of the 6. If the 6s is going to be larger, even if only to a virtually undetectable degree, that means that trimming down the dimensions by next year may be outside the realm of possibility.

Maybe it's just the new iPhone 6S Plus Mini?! Smaller and yet magically only the same thickness as the iPhone 6 Plus was! Amazing.

I'm still buying them. Force Touch alone is going to be absolutely huge. Give it 6 months and anyone with an iPhone lacking Force Touch will be really missing out on some amazing in-app experiences.
I assume you are being sarcastic. It seems force touch will add complexities that will make the user experience more confusing. Anyone who has used an apple watch can attest to that. Even for such a simple device it isn't clear when and wear force touch works. On the iphone I can foresee it being magnified to be much worse.

lol @ wiggle-room...

The case for new cases or not...

Apart from the Force touch, the others are due to how people handle their phones..

We don't "need" a stronger aluminum, we "want"..

There no such thing as needing anymore in the tech world... I think we've come to the point we have crossed this barrier. and without the extra strength, we are not gonna die without it...

Unless u work in some strange situations where u are excessive clumsy by nature and become more clumsy over time.

I will be sticking to my iPhone 6 :D

Not good enough, Ive. Needs to be thicker and heavier to accommodate a bigger battery. Weight and size have no impact on a mobile device so enough already. Thumb reach has no correlation with a device's size. He really needs to go and be replaced with someone more rational.

This is not sarcastic: What do you believe Force Touch could add to an in-app experience to make it amazing? I have an Apple Watch and it works nicely because it enables extra UI elements without extra buttons, but I can't see how this would be beneficial to a phone.

We rethought everything and When something is so revolutionary that the inside is bigger than th outside

I hope somebody will call the mm police immediately.

They have a special trained secret mm force dealing with anything under 1 mm.

And what about world hunger, wars, environmental issues or Taylor Swift.

The world is full of problems. (Hint 0.2 mm in a phone size isn't one of them)

I don't care about any of this minutiae.

I love my gold iPhone 6+ 128. It's the best iPhone yet.

But I'm also looking forward to the 6S+ and getting it for sales tax on my AT&T Next program. Sweet.

Once Apple can get rid of the physical home button the overall size of the phone can shrink.

For the record, I wasn't complaining about the negligibly increased size. Just making an observation that people were already saying that the 6/6+ have too large bezels, and would be disappointed if they even stayed the same size with the expected redesign next year. I fully agree that this is a trivial thing to worry about.

I disagree. I love force touch on my watch and so does everyone else I know who has one.
