My iPhone 6s heats up alot should I return it?
Damn it. From my understanding the TSMC are the chips overheating? My phone gets hot right by the ear piece and it is indeed TSMC.
On the outside its new, also the battery is new. But the components are used and tested.I went through a similar process with the 6.
Don't accept replacements out of a non-retail box from the genius bar. They are technically "remanufactured" and are not new retail units. They're just fixed phones that were defective on the production line.
Make sure you get one in a retail box with new charger etc otherwise return for refund.
Mine got the temperature warning yesterday as I had been editing and exporting 4K video. It done it when trying to airdrop it to my iMac, hasn't came up apart from that.
I don't understand what people expect when they are running the CPU at full speed WHILE charging the device. That heat has to go somewhere, aluminum heat sink (aka case).I finally found one in stock and made a reservation for it. I wonder if I'll be able to exchange since I already have the Genius Bar replacement pending. I haven't been called about that one yet.
Also, while the phone still gets hot, I haven't received any warning or had brightness limited after the latest update, so it may be fine now. I don't want to end up with something worse.
EDIT: I'm repeatedly running Geekbench while plugged in. Brightness got limited to 50% again, and scores started to go down to 50%. It went back to normal faster than it would before the update though. I'm wondering if this is normal behavior.
Thuesday comes a new ios version?
I just saw that on the internet. A "famous" Youtube who had the same issue... Not sure if I'll get the 6S
Ended up getting my phone replaced. So far, not so good. Home button feels sticky, vibrate switch is looser than my old one, and my brightness is still being limited due to heat, albeit during an iCloud restore.
I ended up with something worse, just as I suspected. Maybe the hear issues will be better after the restore is complete, but the home button feels terrible. At least I have two weeks to exchange this one now.
EDIT: I do have a TSMC chip this time. Last one was Samsung.
Lol the majority of this thread is the OP treating MR like a chat room, and the sole source of the "article" he linked to is a reddit thread with 54 comments, 3 of which seem to be from people who *might* have a heat issue.
Add the one or two people in this thread who are chiming in with similar issues, and let's be super generous, and call it a total of 10 people, who *might* have heat issues. Out of how many millions?
Mods should just shut this thread down. Silly fearful people and the click bait blogs who love them...

Thanks for sharing your experience. What you gonna do right now? Is this better then the Samsung one?
Huh? Who said anything about an opinion?Everyone's entitled to their opinion, no matter how off the wall it is. Don't like what you see, change the channel![]()

Huh? What are you talking about? Whether or not there's an issue with iPhones overheating is not a matter of opinion.
